TOBACCO USE CESSATION
& PREVENTION PROGRAM GRANT
$65,797 Funding Received
Cessation: The goal is to ensure all Gallia County residents have access to tobacco cessation
resources.
Policy: The goal is to protect Ohioans from exposure to second hand smoke in places where
groups of people gather, such as parks and outdoor spaces, and multi-unit housing.
Vaping: To increase community knowledge and awareness of the dangers of electronic
cigarettes.
Youth: The goal is to prevent initiation of tobacco use in youth by developing and
maintaining a youth coalition to stand against tobacco use. This coalition (STAND)
works at the local level, to initiate changing attitudes around tobacco use, and to
create stricter regulations, and promote policy changes. The group focuses on
on schools, parks, local businesses, or anywhere they see a need for
change.
