Step 1: Overall Quality and Fulfillment of Life

There are 2 exercises for this step:

1) Holistic Wellness Wheel : Proactive Self Care for the complete wellbeing of your mind body and spirit. This exercise will cover every aspect of wellness to understand the importance of developing and maintaining it in your outlook on life and in your every day actions as well as the personal choices you make.

2) Goals Motivator: Find Your Hidden Treasures: Why you want quality of life is totally unique to you. Once you understand WHY you want this, it's easier to focus, go the "extra mile" and find that extra energy to put into your goals.

Quality and Fulfillment of Life

One of the things that help us to develop wellness is paying attention to our quality of life.

If our quality of life is low, we feel depressed, or suppressed or oppressed. On the other hand, when our quality of life is high, we then feel that we can do anything, and we are happy and content with the way our life is going.

Quality of life is something that can be improved but first we must identify any areas of our life that we feel are lacking and ensure that everything receives a fair amount of attention, including home, work and play

By investigating all the areas of wellness and ensuring that everything receives a fair amount of attention, we can improve our quality of life and our capacity for developing the things that need to be improved or enhanced.

By accepting personal responsibility, we are keeping our power well within our own domain. This means that we can cultivate wellness to any degree that we see fit. We personally ensure that our daily life is ordered and regulated towards the development of wellness and we learn that in reality, we are the only ones responsible for this. By learning to look at our life, from our own point of view, considering what needs to be changed, what needs further encouragement, what works and doesn’t work for us, we develop an awareness of our own personal abilities, strengths and weaknesses.

When we approach wellness from this angle, we show ourselves that we truly do have the power to be independent, confident, and effective at enhancing positive changes in our life.

In the world of wellness cultivation, there is no greater power than realizing that the ability to inspire and encourage wellness comes down to your own levels of determination, willpower, and dedication.

Why make these changes?

Enjoy each day to its fullest and find fulfillment and personal satisfaction in your daily life

Feel energetic each morning and look forward to the day

Create a comfortable and healing home environment

Develop a sense of connection, belonging and support

The Holistic Wellness Wheel(Physical, Mental, Emotional, Spiritual, Social, Home Environment, Financial, Occupational)

Step 1 – Complete the Holistic Wellness Wheel:

1a. Review the 8 areas of wellness: think briefly what a happy, satisfying life might look like for you in each area. 1b. Draw a line across each segment that represents your happiness score for each area. Imagine the centre of the wheel is 0 and the outer edge is 10. Choose a value between 1 (very unhappy) and 10 (couldn't be happier). Now draw a line and write the score alongside (see example on page 1).IMPORTANT: Use the FIRST number (score) that pops into your head, not the number you think it should be!

Yours may look something like this:

Goals Motivator: Find Your Hidden Treasure! To get the most out of this exercise, be totally honest with yourself and lose the self-judgement. Write whatever pops into your head - however silly or boring it might seem.

1. First, score out of 10, how motivated you are currently to achieve this goal: _____ / 10

Now you understand why you want your goal and how you want to feel. But to be really motivated, you need to be clear on two more questions, "Why do you want this goal now?" and “What is the pain of inaction?”

9. What is the pain of not achieving your goal?

So, now that you understand your true motivations, how does this change the way you think about your goal?

10. I am now motivated to achieve this goal: _____ / 10

What's yourhidden

treasure?

These questions relate to the answer immediately before. Keep answering even if you repeat answers.

(If your motivation score is not 8 or above, whydo you have this goal? Is it really your
