Mapping Translation (x,y) (x+2, y-7)
Example 1: What is the image of the points in figure ABC (x,y) (x-7,y-3) ?
A (3,1), B (4,4), C (1,2)
Example 2: What is the images of the points in figure ABC (x,y) (x+4,y+1)?

Important Aspects of a Translation:1. A translation occurs when a figure slides across a coordinate plane.
2. If a figure is translated horizontally (left or right) the x coordinate changes.
3. If a figure is translated vertically (up or down) the y coordinate changes.
4. A translated figure will never change in size or shape but only in its location.
