VOLUNTEERING MATTERS!
The Greatwood & Horseclose Residents Association has been awarded £7,000 from the Travis Perkins Community Legacy Fund to help develop new volunteering opportunities at the Community Centre.
Part of this funding will be spent on training and development for local residents volunteering their time to help keep the Centre running and the rest on volunteer-led activities open to the whole community.
From fun events to computer classes for beginners, this funding will contribute to a great programme in 2018 and we’d like to say a big thank you to all at Travis Perkins for helping to make this possible. ACTIVITIES

Little Feet Crèche have had a busy year with visits from firemen, Police and Skipton Library. We have held a number of fundraising events including a teddy bears picnic, Halloween and Christmas parties, bingo and breakfast with Santa.
The support from the community and local companies in our fundraising events has been overwhelming and we’ve raised a signicant amount for our self-funding crèche.
Our next event will be our Easter Fun day which will include crafts, competitions and stalls and refreshments. This will be held on Saturday 14th April at the community centre 11-3pm
Little Feet Crèche is open Monday, Wednesday and Fridays 9am-11.55 am for children aged 8 months to 3yrs at an affordable price.
To find out more or book a place contact Emma on 01756 701386 or [email protected]
Membership for the Tool Hire Scheme is now free of charge.

2017 was another successful year for the Elite Karate Club with many of the children passing their gradings and achieving new coloured belts.
We are hoping that students will compete at National and International levels, and are aiming for some of them to be picked to fight for England in the World Championships this year in Dundee.
To prepare the students we have had extra fighting sessions and the club now owns safety matting and body armour which was kindly funded by the Greatwood & Horseclose Community Centre.
If anyone wishes to join the club they can go to www.elitekaratecentre.co.uk or contact us on 07983 725956.

9THE ESTATE ECHO
Would you believe that Scoff Cafe will have been open for three years in June 2018.I wish to thank all our customers past and present for making this a successful venture.
I prefer to call you all “SCOFFERS” and theweekly set menu is posted on the Greatwood & Horseclose Community Facebook page.
Since we have been open you have enabled us to support local Skipton Charities, including SELFA, Skipton Food Bank, Girls Rock, and other Groups in excess of £1000.
We are proud to announce that we have teamed up with Greatwood School “Gold Awards” to encourage good behaviour
and good work from the pupils. The Award winners will be attending Scoff Café each week as part of their reward.
All this would not be possible if it was not for all our past and present team of volunteers. They unselfishly give their time each week to make Scoff Café the success it is.
Please keep supporting us “Scoffers” as we wish to be open for years to come.
Our set meal costs £4.50 and other items are available.
New volunteers and customers are always welcome.
We are open every Wednesday from
12.30 till 2pm
