Daughters of the King was originally formed by Debbie McLean and Kim Inch in 2016. The duo sang together for a little over 2 years before they started wondering whether they should bring in a third member to create a three-piece harmony group. Debbie had heard of Roxy Smith from other musically-talented friends and she had often popped up in Debbie's news-feed on social media. It wasn’t long until Debbie found that she and Roxy had more than music in common and they quickly became friends. Debbie and Kim asked Roxy to back them up at an upcoming event with keyboard and vocals. During their first practice together, all three discovered that their voices blended together nicely and that they all got along on a deep, personal level. After much prayer and consideration, Roxy was invited to join the group and she happily accepted, forming the band how it stands today.

Kim Inch started singing as a little girl at all-night, Acadian-styled “kitchen parties” in Prince Edward Island. She has both performed at and produced numerous concerts, worship services, and charity events over the years and has also coached and mentored children’s vocal workshops and choirs. Kim’s first solo album, Mixed Blessings, was released in 2007. She also released a CD in 2012 called God, Gospel and Girlfriends with her former group, Trinity. Some of her musical highlights include performing at the 2013 Havelock Jamboree and the 2010 Winter Olympics Torch Relay Celebrations in Picton, ON.

One of her favourite verses from Scripture is Psalm 96:1-3, which says, “Oh, sing to the Lord a new song! Sing to the Lord, all the earth. Sing to the Lord, bless His name; Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day. Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among all people.” Kim has been blessed with the talent of writing music and is excited to see how the words that God has given to her may inspire, encourage, and bless those that hear them.

Debbie McLean has been singing for most of her life. Her journey with music started while singing along to country and gospel records on her parents' hi-fi. From there, Debbie went on to singing in high school, church, and at weddings and funerals. She made her debut on stage at the Classic Country Music Reunion in Trenton, Ontario in 2011 and has since performed at many other jamborees, festivals, benefits, concerts, and churches. Debbie’s first country album, Take This Heart, was released in December 2012. Her song “Years Ago,” which she co-wrote with Brett McNaueal and Rick Hodgson, was featured on 2013’s

Christmas From Home album that was sent out to Canadian troops and veterans. The album included music from other musicians, including Anne Murray, Tim Hicks, and The Good Brothers. Debbie didn’t start writing music on her own until 2014. Prior to that, she had been facing a long season of depression, anxiety, and other issues that seemed to control her life, but at rock bottom, she found Jesus was there to pick her up and carry her through. She shares this testimony while speaking at churches and events, and through her music. Psalm 46:1 is a verse that Debbie often goes to for comfort and inspiration: “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”

Roxy recorded her first album with The Master’s at Superior Sound Studios in Nashville, Tennessee; Joe Bonsall and Dwayne Allen of the Oak Ridge Boys produced the album. She has also recorded an album with the group, The Revised Edition, and numerous solo albums featuring her own original music. Her album, I Saw Jesus, was produced by Nashville producer and engineer, Mark Moseley. Gordon Mote arranged the music and was also the pianist on the album. Roxy has worked with and shared the stage with music artists, such as the Oak Ridge Boys, The Gaithers’, Stella Parton, Janet Paschal, Hiram Joseph, Cheryl Dunn, The Proverbs and many more. One of Roxy's biggest career highlights was being awarded the "Contemporary Album of the Year, Second Chance - The Album at the Canadian Gospel Music Association Awards. Roxy has also won numerous other awards for her music: Canadian Gospel Music Association *Female Vocalist of the Year – 4 years in a row *Contemporary Album of the Year Second Chance – The Album *Song Award for “Second Chance” Written by Roxanne *Song Award for “Praise Him” Written by Roxanne & Don Edmunds The Maja Awards *Best Southern Gospel Vocalist & Performer of the Year -2006 Roxy has faced many difficult times throughout her life, and Proverbs 3:5-6 is a verse that has always stuck with her. It says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Roxy knows this is true, and she writes and sings music to share this important message.

Roxy Smith began singing at a young age. She appeared on the TV show, Gospel Echoes, at age eight and was asked to be a regular soloist after her debut. At fourteen, she joined the southern gospel music group, The Master’s, who toured across Canada and the United States and could often be seen on the Canadian Nation wide TV program, "Gospel Singin Time". The group also sang at the Grand Ole Opry and toured with the Grand Ole Opry Traveling Road Show. Besides the big stages, she has also performed at churches, community events, charity benefits, and coffee shops.
