The flight from Bangkok to Paro is breathtaking, with views of major Himalayanpeaks such as Everest, Kanchenjunga and Makalu, and on the final approachBhutan’s own snowy peaks, the sacred Jhomolhari, Jichu Drake and Tserimgang.On arrival at Paro we drive to Thimphu, the modern capital of Bhutan with anexciting blend of tradition and modernity. Bustling Thimphu is home to the seat ofgovernment as well as to Bhutan’s royal family, civil service and foreignmissions.

We will also visit the Tashichho Dzong: The “fortress of the glorious religion”erected in 1641, His Majesty’s secretariat, along with the central monk body. Wedrop into National Institute of Traditional Medicine Bhutan, also a training schoolfor traditional medicine practitioners. A highlight is the Tiger's Nest (theTaktsang Monastery) with plenty of time to trek to the monastery for those whoare energetic!
