Future concepts for Self-driving Car IDEO, an international design and consulting firm which uses the design thinking methodology to design products, services, environments, and digital experiences have come up with future concept designs for the Self-driving car extended to a number of applications. Smart Family Car The car is fitted with a proximity sensor which detects the distance from the car and at around 200 feet away, it begins prepping for your drive, pulling in info from your suite of connected devices. Based on the data from various points of access such as email, calendar and text messages, it predicts and informs about the possible locations, a person needs to go with all details regarding the journey. All in- built systems inside the car such as music system, radio, AC, safety systems will be set to the default settings set previously or the most frequent ones. Delivery Cars The future of self-driving cars will pave way to varied applications in the logistics. Inside every customized self-driving car, a vacuum- powered surface sorts and stabilizes packages. A robotic arm will arrange each box according to the right dimensions inside the vehicle based on the delivery sequence decided by the existing logistics system in place thus reducing the need to rearrange the packages at the time of delivery. The in-built camera will arrange each box from the pile in front of it and authentication of faces or other sensors will prevent theft at the place of delivery.

A self-driving workspace instead of having to travel to office will be a trend in the future for the executives who have time crunch. Instead of traveling to a stationary office, the self-driving work space will come to the person. The modular traveling pods can be placed at strategic locations around the city convenient to the workers who book them.

Each vehicle is will have amazing features such as interactive work surfaces, a retractable hatch and furniture that magnetically locks in. Depending on the size of the team more pods can be added to customize them as per the user needs. The vehicles will automatically drive themselves back to the hub where they dock, recharge and reconfigure for the next day’s use.
