Step #4. Define Incentive Compensation Shared Configuration

In projects, expand "Define Incentive Compensation Shared Configuration" task list under Define Incentive Compensation.

..... #4a. Manage Incentive Compensation Profile Values

There are only two profiles: 1) CN_DEBUG ( Enable Debug Mode ) = No at site level. CN_DEBUG is required to see the calculation debug messages. Be carefull that these messages can fill up the CN_PROCESS_AUDIT_LINES_ALL table very quickly. Turn it on only when needed to debug. Normally, set this value at the user level.

2) CN_MARK_EVENTS ( Enable Incremental Calculation ) = Yes at site level CN_MARK_EVENTS is needed if plan on using incremental calculation mode. If you later set this value, you can potentially missed some events.

..... #4b. Manage Incentive Compensation Lookups (Optional at initial setup)

Most are seeded and enabled. The only lookup type that you might want to add additional lookup codes is CN_USER_FUNCTIONS to be used for expression’s user defined function(see Doc ID 1345191.1 )

..... #4c. Manage Value Sets (Optional at initial setup)

..... #4d. Manage Incentive Compensation Descriptive Flexfields

Enable which ever currency you will use. Note: USD is already enabled.

Step #5. Setup Incentive Compensation Parameters for Business Unit

In projects, click on Go to Task on "Define Incentive Compensation Business Unit Configuration" under Define Incentive Compensation task list.Select the business unit.

..... #5a. Manage Parameters

The parameters must be setup in order to activate this business unit.

..... #5b. Manage Intervals

Update whenever new periods are added. Make sure the Interval Name is correct for each interval type. This determines which range of periods areincluded in calculation.

..... #5c. Configure Tables and Columns (Optional)

This can be deferred till you determine which attribute fields are needed for classification rules, crediting rules, and / or calculation.

..... #5d. Manage Open Period Process

You need to open at least one period.

Step #6. Create provision roles and rules for Incentive Compensation users (Optional)

Note: You can skip this step and assign the roles from Step #3 directly to the user.

..... #6a. Create a resource role specific for Incentive Compensation

In projects, expand "Define Resource Role Information for Incentive Compensation" task list under Define Common Applications Configuration forIncentive Compensation > Define Resources for Incentive Compensation folders.

.......... #6a-1. Create a new resource role lookup

Go to task : Manage Resource Role Lookups Lookup Type is JTF_RS_ROLE_TYPE (Resource Role Type) Example of a new lookup code: Lookup Code = UD_INCENTIVE_COMPENSATION Enabled = Checked Start Date = 01/01/2010 Meaning = Incentive Compensation Description = User defined: grouping of resource roles related to Incentive Compensation
