Chronicle Trailer

• This movie uses handy-cam technique.

• Handy-cam techniques are shown in the trailer as the screen tearing and the timer on the screen are shown.

• The trailer follows the trailer of a group of teenagers who have powers and are seen causing chaos and having fun

• The music lends to the tone of trailer a lot as it changes from a light-hearted comedy to a drama.

ANALYSIS

Conventions used:

- Inclusion of title at the end of the trailer

- Link to facebook/twitter

- Montage of best bits from the film

What I liked:

• The soundtrack lends to the tone

• Handy-cam

• Mystery

TRAILER 2

Man of Steel Trailer

MAN OF STEEL TRAILER

• A very short teaser trailer.

• Uses a lot of establishing shots.

• Voiceover used which tells the audience parts of the story without keeping the mystery.

• The last 10 seconds show the big reveal of superman.

• Uses a lot of text to establish the makers of big movies such as ‘From the creator of the BATMAN trilogy….’

ANALYSISConventions used:

• Logo and Title screen at the end

• Release Date

• Voiceover

What I Liked:

• Enigma

• Teases the audience as there are no clear shots of Superman

TRAILER 3

The Bourne Legacy Trailer

THE BOURNE LEGACY TRAILER

• The trailer is very mysterious.

• Most of the frame is not filled with footage which again helps the mysterious tone of the trailer.

• The final reveal of the character is shown and the colour fades from black and white to colour.

• Then some very fast paced editing shows some action scenes.

• Voiceover

• Release Date

What I Liked:

• Very mysterious tone

• Big character reveal with colour editing
