OPEN ENROLLMENT INSTRUCTIONS

Introduction

Faculty and Staff who are interested in the new 2020 Legal and Identity Theft benefit should follow the

steps below to enroll. This is your opportunity to enroll in this benefit with coverage effective January 1,

2020. Please see our benefits page at https://www.furman.edu/offices-services/human-

resources/benefits/insurance/ or contact the Benefits Department at 864-294-3105 for additional

information.

Access Workday and Visit Inbox Faculty and Staff who are benefits eligible, will need to access Workday to be able to enroll in the Legal

and Identity Theft Benefit.

1) Log into myfurman

2) Clicking the Workday icon located on the bottom of the page.

Once you are logged into Workday:

1. On the left-hand side, find the additional task titled “Open Enrollment Change: Your Name on

01/02/2020” in your inbox and click on it.

2. The right hand screen will be titled, “2020 Legal & Identity Open Enrollment for (Your name)”.

Click on the arrow in the corner to change to full page mode.

Step 1 – Election of 2020 Legal & Identity Benefit

To elect Legal & Identity Theft coverage, simply select the “elect” button. If you wish to waive coverage,

simply select the “waive” radio button.

There is only rate, $24.00 monthly/$11.08 biweekly, for coverage. This includes coverage for yourself,

spouse/domestic partners and dependent children.

If no changes are needed, click on “Continue” to move to the next section.

Click on “Save for Later” to save changes made so far.

Click on “Cancel” to cancel any changes you have made.

Step 2 – Benefit Election Review

Review election made during the previous step. Use the scroll bars to navigate the entire screen. If your

election is correct, click the “I agree” box and then click “Submit”.

If you need to change you election, click “Go Back” and update your election as needed.

After you click “Submit” you will be directed to the Submit Elections Confirmation Page. We

recommend that you retain a copy of this confirmation for your records. Click on the Print button at the

bottom of the page or the print icon to create a pdf file of your information.

Reminder: You can make changes to your benefit elections through the November 17th open

enrollment deadline. To do so, go to your Workday homepage, click the benefits worklet shield, and

then click the “change open enrollment” button. See screenshots below.
