Fun in the Sun for Olympians at Sunway Lagoon

Recently, Olympia College, Kuala Lumpur campus had organized a trip to the Sunway Lagoon Theme

Park - located in Sunway, Petaling Jaya. Around 27 students and 5 lecturers participated in the trip to

relax after the examinations. The group went to three parks i.e The Water Park, Amusement Park and the

Wildlife. The journey from the college Sunway Lagoon Theme Park took only 30 minutes.

Upon reaching, the group headed straight to the Wildlife Park - a stunning place where they bonded and

played with animals. They observed wonderful creatures like the Hornbills, Gibbons, Eagles, Peacocks,

Squirrels, Monkeys, etc. There were bird shows to watch, petting areas, plus photo opportunities. The

students were also carried away with the amazing beauty of the snakes and the reptiles.

According to Mr Brian Param, the Principal, ³The key focus of this trip was to help students to effective

interactions with students from different courses and have fun at the same time. Students from English,

Business and I.T Programmes as well as other programmes were able to mingle with one another.´

Next the students went to the Amusement park. There were lots of games such as the the Lost City of

Gold - the roller coaster which was extremely fast. They also tried the Buffalo Bill Coaster, the Chief

Crazy Horse Carousel or Butch Cassidy¶s Trail.

Then, the group went to the Water Park, one of the major attractions of Sunway Lagoon Theme Park.

There are about 12 rides to enjoy such as the Congo Challenge. There were also tube raiders where one

can slide from the top in comfortable tubes made especially for water slides. Then there was the Cliff

Racer, specially made for thrill seekers to enjoy a straight slide at a top speed. After the fun in the sun,

students were brought to have a buffet dinner in Sunway Pyramid. The students had a good dinner after a

tiring day at the Sunway Lagoon Water Park.

The group took some pictures and left the place around 8.00pm. The trip was so exciting and the students

went home with wonderful memories.

Olympia College¶s cutting edge and industry oriented Diploma in Business Studies programme will equip

This guarantees entry into 2nd year of an undergraduate degree locally or to over 200 universities in UK,

USA and Australia. Students who want an European exposure can also completed their degree through

the University of Information Technology and Management (UITM), Poland at very affordable fees.

Olympia¶s Diploma in Hotel Management programme is a highly sought programme for those interested

in a successful hotel career. The hotel programme was developed with the assistance of partner

institutions and the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) to meet the demands of the hotel industry.

Olympia College is a member of the prestigious Malaysian Association of Hotel (MAH). The graduates

from the Diploma in Hotel Management will :

1) receive an additional Diploma from the Business and Hotel Management School (BHMS)

(Switzerland)*

2) receive the prestigious Higher National Diploma award from Edexcel UK on completion of an

3) This will pave a way to the final year of Bachelor of Arts in Hotel and Hospitality Management

the demands of the increasing job market for I.T specialists. There a demand today for IT experts who

The DIT programme offered, has gone through the rigour of several UK and European universities
