LITURGY OF THE WORD READING (Ecclesiastes 3: 1-11) Emerald Gatti A reading from the book of Ecclesiastes. Everything that happens in this world happens at a time of God chooses. God set the time for birth, the time for planting and the time for pulling up. God set the time for sorrow and joy, the time for searching and the time for losing, the time for saving and the time for throwing away; the time for silence and the time for talking. God set the time for love and the time not to love, and He sets time for peace. What do we gain from all our work? I know the heavy burdens that God has laid on us. God has set the right time for everything. He has given us desire to know the future, but never gives us the satisfaction of fully understanding what He does. So I realise that all we can do is be happy and to do the best we can while we are still alive. The Word of the Lord. A. – Thanks be to God.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM The Lord is My Shepherd TIS: 659; Words: Psalm 23 Music: Brian Boniwell © 1949 Arr: Kevin Hunt

The Lord is my shepherd, and I want to follow, Wherever He leads me, wherever He goes. Over the mountains, the waters and byways. Valleys and highways, He’s waiting for me. Refrain: I want to go to meet Him there, To lay myself down in His love. The Lord is my shepherd, and I want to follow, Wherever He leads me, wherever He goes. And while on the journey, to where we are going, He promised to be there to help us along. And over the mountains, we’ll walk on together, To know all the wonders He’s given to me. Refrain GOSPEL ACCLAMATION A. – Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia. “I am the Way, the Truth and

the Life”, says the Lord. “He who believes in me will not die forever.” Alleluia, Alleluia.

GOSPEL (John 14: 1-6) Read by Fr. Shymon C. – The Lord be with you. A. – And with your spirit. C. – A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John. A. – Glory to you, O Lord. Jesus said to His disciples: “Do not let your hearts be troubled; trust in God still, and trust in me. There are many rooms in my Father’s house; if there were not, I should have told you. I am going now to prepare a place for you, and after I have gone and prepared you a place, I shall return to take you with me; so that where I am, you may be too. You know the way to the place where I am going.” Thomas said: “Lord, we do not know where you are going, so how can we know the way?” Jesus said: “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” The Gospel of the Lord. A. – Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ. HOMILY (Recording) Fr. Paddy Sykes

FINAL COMMENDATION AND FARWELL C. – Trusting in God, we have prayed together for Peter and

now we come to the last farewell. There is sadness in parting, but we take comfort in the hope that one day we shall see Peter again. With water and with incense we farewell Peter. Saints of
