Good standard of education provided – more to school than a building
Teachers and other staff held in high regard
School is the heart of the community - school receives good support and commitment from local community

• Review initiated in August 2006• A Learning Centre for the 21st Century• First round of community engagement November 2006 – March 2007
• Reports to Council August – October 2007• Second round of community engagement November 2007 – March 2008

• Suitability and Condition ratings• Category 1 - existing provision to be reviewed further• Category 2 – existing provision to be considered for modernisation
• Lead Officers/Support Officers identified• Further reviews underway

Poor layout - 3 separate buildings resulting in issues around security for 3 buildings, repairs to 3 buildings and movement between 3 buildings.
Not in good state of repair
Lack of suitable grass areas for playing
Classrooms/teaching areas not suitable for learning in 21st century
Toilets – poor
No nursery provision

No reception area
Full school needs modernised
School on main road – safety?
Leaking roofs in all 3 buildings– dampness brought on by leaks
Problems with litter/vandalism due to through way

Implications of new build on Braehead Primary
Lack of secondary school in North Ayr
New secondary school (to replace current Ayr Academy) should be located in North Ayr

Improve existing school
Transferring pupils to Braehead and Dalmilling
Build new Whitletts PS Join with Braehead PS in new school in North Ayr.

Workshop groups explore advantages and disadvantages of each option.
