HELPING PEOPLE HELP THEMSELVES May 6, 2010 FUNCTIONAL LISTENING SKILLS GROUP Needs Assessment Meeting To Capital Region adult recipients of Cochlear Implants: SCS, Inc. would like to invite you to a “needs assessment” meeting to discuss content and curriculum options for a “Functional Listening Skills” group that will be starting this summer. The meeting will take place on Monday May 17 at 5:30 p.m. in our office at 17 British American Boulevard Latham, NY 12110. As many of you know, there exists a paucity of services to help adult recipients of Cochlear Implants meet ongoing functional listening needs outside of clinic settings and beyond the availability of insurance coverage. SCS, Inc. seeks to meet the long-term aural rehabilitation needs of children and adults with hearing impairment by providing contextualized, community-based services at a low cost. Beginning this summer a Functional Listening Skills group will be offered to adults on a weekly basis. Please help us put together an effective program by attending the information and needs assessment meeting on May 17 th .
