Twin splint The maxillary and mandibular twin splint frees the dental tract of any parasitic muscular interference and helps proper tooth positioning. In some appliances, indentations or incisors reinforce- ments are additional benefits for tooth pre-alignment. Raised Molar Area The thicker posterior structure of the occlusion plane is aerofoil-shaped. This allows a relief of the condyles and releases the mandibular growth. Tongue ramp All devices feature a tongue ramp that allows to position the tongue against the palate when swallowing. This passive re-education trains the patient and contributes to a transversal development of the palate. Bumpers Drop-shaped bumpers vary in size, depending on the appliance. They have an effect on the lower lip: • Muscular stretching effect in lip hyper tonicity cases, thus limiting tongue interposition • Muscular stimulation in lip hypo tonicity cases. The EF Start Evolution is specially adapted to pre-orthodontic treatment in the deciduous or mixed dentition in children from 4 to 8. The EF2 is a soft functional appliance, well adapted to interceptive treatments in the mixed dentition.The EF2 is active in the retraining of the tongue, lips and cheeks, in tooth pre-alignment and in mandibular unlocking. The EF 2 is ideal for treating deep bite Class II cases.Features • Large lip bumper for treating lip interposition • Deep tongue ramp featuring a progressive protraction plane.
