• The treasurer also serves constituents as the sponsor of the state's Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) Initiative, which encourages the formation of ESOP companies across the state. These companies are motivated to keep their operations local, a trend that prompts the treasurer's office to offer $50 million in investment funds to help banks fund ESOP loans. The treasurer also supports the banking needs of individuals via Bank On Indiana, an initiative that helps those without a bank to open accounts and gain financial literacy.
