The Foundation has held a number of events at numerous different venues over our 25 years, and decided to approach the Arkaba for undoubtedly our most important events during these 25 years, which was out 25th year celebration function held in February this year.

Since then, Operation Flinders has held a number of events at the Arkaba, and as a result of our formal partnership, have been able to minimise our costs through the very generous in-kind support provided. Along with these cost-saving outcomes, we have found the Arkaba to be a superb venue with outstanding customer service and quality food and beverage packages that have proved ideal for our needs.

Through holding these events at the Arkaba, Operation Flinders have benefitted greatly from the expertise of the staff who have provided invaluable advice in terms of room set-up and presentation, AV, menu preferences and accommodation options, which have all enhanced the

professionalism of our events. We look forward to holding many more functions at the Arkaba in the years to come.

The Arkaba Hotel has demonstrated to Operation Flinders that it is not only a terrific entertainment venue, but it also shared the vision of supporting another South Australian based organisation that provides a valuable service to the community.

From our first meeting with Jess she was obliging, helpful and nothing was too much trouble.

There is nothing that I could fault about the Arkaba. The food was excellent, the waitresses polite and respectful, the venue was presented to a very high standard and was great value for money.

Jess is an extremely organised function manager and a delightful young lady. She was in constant communication, even catering to last minute dietary requirements. Jess and her team happily helped with our table decorations and last minute changes and at the end of the evening gathered up our decoration, packed neatly to collect at a later date. We will certainly re-book our (Head of the River) dinner next year without hesitation.

The Arkaba has been a dream to work with. We have been holding regular functions varying in size from 30 to 300 people and they never miss a beat.

The food and service is always exceptional. The function manager, Jessica, is always very flexible whether it be changes to timing, persons attending or dietary requirements and most importantly always available via phone or email for any questions, concerns or last minuet changes.

Since moving to the Arkaba, our clients and patrons always take the time to express their delight in being at the Arkaba in comparison to venues we have used in the past.

Troy Guyette – Australian Grappling Championship

After running our inaugural AGC Invitational event at the Arkaba the AGC team have decided to run all future events of this nature at their venue. All staff went above and beyond to assist my team whilst in the process of setting up and running the sell out event. Jess, the functions manager was able to help guide us through the unknown and meet the needs of all our requests.In regards to the venue, it looked nothing short of spectacular and the Arkaba staff were able to bring to light in fine detail the venue layout that we had requested.

John Condon – Carbine Club of South Australia

The Carbine Club of South Australia Inc. has had an association with the Arkaba Hotel since August of 1985 when in the club’s infant years, honoured South Australia’s Challenge for the defence of the 1987 America’s Cup with Special Guest and Guest Speaker, Sir James Hardy. This lunch was held in the ‘Top Room’ at the Arkaba. Many other lunches followed in this room honouring significant sporting events in South Australia, until such time as the club outgrew the room when Membership increased.

Subsequently, the club has continues its association with Hurley Arkaba Hotel every year, with the holding of the Annual General Meeting and lunch that follows in the Osmond Room.

Many, long and enjoyable hours have been spent within the hotel, and The Carbine Club has nothing but praise for the standard of meals served to its members and the attentive attitude of all the staff.

We can only speak with gratitude to the generosity of the host Peter Hurley AM and Function Manager Jessica Bellwood, who at all times has displayed a sense of pride in her work and in attrition, Jessica’s attention to detail has been nothing short of first class.
