In a world where change is accelerating and disruption is the new normal for many industries, investing in a “conventional” MBA may not be the best move to boost your career right now. At the Ecole des Ponts Business School we have a front seat on the cutting edge of innovation, training and personal development. And we have taken a bold move to completely redesign our Full-Time MBA in Innovation Management to create unparalleled value and a “WOW!” experience for our participants.

How did we do this? Well we looked to incubators, accelerators, innovation labs and avant-garde programs around the world for inspiration. The result, a revolutionary new approach we are calling the “project-based MBA”. Working with stakeholders, participants, and alumni we have designed a new program adapted to the new and emerging challenges of our world - a next-generation MBA which takes an ultra-modern and unconventional approach to get you the career you want and deserve.

Based on three term-long projects, you will be immersed in action learning, learning by doing, and accelerated personal development. You will learn from your professors, peers, corporate contacts and your personal coach who will accompany your transformation all along the way. You will work in multicultural teams, lead projects that leverage your newly acquired skills, and face numerous challenges. You will spend more time outside of the classroom than in. Ultimately, you will develop the most important skill for your career - agility; that is your ability to adjust to disruptive change with serenity and leadership.

We are proud to offer you forward-thinking content, delivered by internationally-renowned faculty, which addresses the current issues facing people, organizations and society today. Join us on this journey of reflection, discovery and advancement, and be prepared to be radically transformed!

“You could say the MBA transformed my professional life”

Ira Prifti (Greece) Head of IT - Yum! Brands - KFC France

“My time during the MBA was quite intense. I felt I was learning a lot about people from around the world. I’m still in the IT domain but my position, and my eye on the corporate world, is completely different. So the MBA completely changed my career path as well as my life. I came to Paris from

Athens for one year to do the MBA and go back to my previous job but now it’s my fifth year in Paris and I’m really happy. Even though the big focus for me was the knowledge and the school, being in Paris really inspired me. Not only culturally but also the entrepreneurial vibe at the École des Ponts Business School and the city of Paris. I’ve been seeing the business world differently, I’ve positioned myself differently, I have interactions with people completely in a different way. You could say the MBA transformed my professional life and helps me transform the businesses I work in as well. My career path has changed, accelerated I should say. It has definitely given me a lot of assets.

“From a technical thinker into an innovative business thinker”

Amarou Aw (Senegal) Senior Consultant - Mars & Co

“Initially I got an engineering education but at some point I felt more attracted to a business-oriented education. I wanted to learn how to be an entrepreneur, how to change a company or even society by innovating. I already had the problem-solving skills in me, but the MBA clearly

added a lot of business acumen. So I was able to get out of the pure technical aspect of solving problems and add the business aspect, the business results and an entrepreneurial approach. Another key aspect of this MBA is the quality of the faculty. We had the opportunity to attend classes by visiting professors from all around the world. They gave us leading classes on innovation and entrepreneurship. Which later helped me transform myself from a purely technical thinker into an innovative business thinker. In what school do you have the ability to cherry-pick among the best professors in the world to teach you?”

"Building my personal confidence in a big way"

Jessie Chapman (USA), Founder - TexaQ

“Of course the professors are fabulous, both in their experience and teaching methods. But what really makes the program unique is the cohort… diverse in nationality and experience, and thirsty for knowledge. I will say that while this mix of diverse cultures, personalities and motivations

made working in groups challenging, I came out so much stronger by getting through it. This was an unexpected aspect of learning... building my personal confidence in a big way which is certainly the reason I was able to take the leap and start my own company. What I appreciated about the cohort is that it was NOT a bunch of cocky, one-dimensional people looking to climb the corporate ladder in which an MBA is required and seen as a means to end. Rather, we came to learn and we came from such diverse backgrounds that none of us felt out of place. From day one, I felt like I could contribute and succeed in something out of my natural comfort zone.”

“Broaden my personal, career and cultural perspectives”

Verna Ellaine Mugot (Philippines) Regional Solutions Analyst - Pernod-Ricard EMEA

“Going through the MBA from École des Ponts and Solvay Brussels School was a once in a lifetime experience for me! My batch was composed of great people with a wide array of different nationalities. The faculty is top notch – quite dynamic and hands on in the classes – and

the program staff very supportive. Not only did I meet a lot of great people, I learned a lot of new ideas as well. Having gone through this program with them broadened my personal, career, and cultural perspectives. I am now working as a Regional Solutions Analyst in a leading international company headquartered in Paris where I combine my previous experience in Information Technologies with the newly acquired business skills. I attribute all of this to the school for giving me this excellent opportunity!”

MBA transformation in action

Innovation is part of our DNAEntrepreneurs since 1747Created by royal decree of King Louis XV, the École nationale des ponts et chaussées – aka École des Ponts ParisTech – is the oldest engineering school in the world, and one of the most prestigious French “grandes écoles”. It has been the training ground for many illustrious scientists and economists such as Gay-Lussac, Lebon, Coriolis, Becquerel, and Jean Tirole, 2015 Nobel Prize of Economics. The School is also renownened for growing generations of pioneers, inventors and business leaders who have played a prominent role in creating and developing key infrastructures and leading companies in France, Europe and globally.

Supervised by the French Ministry for Environment and Energy, the École des Ponts ParisTech is a hub for thought-leaders willing to invent strategies and technologies for sustainable development. The School is a founding member of the Paris Institute of Technology – ParisTech – and of the Paris School of Economics. It has also been selected by the French government to create and host the Paris d.school, dedicated to design-thinking. And it is the only grande ecole with a business school!

Leading in a fast-changing worldTo nurture the next generation of business leaders and forward-thinking managers, the École des Ponts Business School has been offering MBA and management programs since 1987. Inspired by our late founder, Dame Celia Russo, we strongly believe that a business school’s responsibility is to create ethical managers and leaders. Men and women who can think creatively and critically about how to design new businesses – or improve existing ones – and in the process, help to make the world a better place.

Graduates as well as partnering companies acclaim the unique vision that inspires our MBA, Executive MBA and Executive DBA programs. Although most business schools have assimilated the impact of globalization, they seldom teach how new technologies are reshaping user experiences, market expectations and work relationships. We also know that, beyond technology, at the source of successful innovations and businesses, are men and women who are making the best use of their emotional intelligence, intercultural and leadership skills.

A seal of excellenceÉcole des Ponts and Solvay Brussels School are synonymous with excellence in France, Europe and globally for those in the know. Both schools signing your diplomas have decades of experience administering internationally-acclaimed MBAs. The École des Ponts Business School has two E-MBA programs listed among the world’s top 100 by the Financial Times. Our Full Time MBA in Innovation Management is ranked #1 globally by CEO Magazine. It has consistently been accredited by AMBA and EFMD (Equis).

“École des Ponts Business School continues to excel against all of CEO Magazine's Key Performance Indicators. However, the School's relentless pursuit of innovative management education, allied to a student-centric approach, is what keeps it at the very top of CEO Magazine's MBA rankings. The hard data gleaned from our continued analysis and assessment of École des Ponts Business School's MBA offering is further supported by the excellent feedback from students and alumni, making for a consistently robust ranking.”

Victor Callender, CEO CEO Magazine and International Graduate Forum

The world is your campusDuring the Study Trips to Brussels, you will discover how European companies and InternationaI Organizations design their innovation strategies and set up the labs and the projects to implement them. The learning expedition to the

Silicon Valley will introduce you to the world leading ecosystem of entrepreneurship and new venture creation.

Our study trips include a mix of lectures, meetings with high-profile guest speakers and, most importantly, visits to local and international companies. Participants report that study trips are unique opportunities to apply and further develop their MBA skills; they also inspire new business ideas and help them establish connections with local alumni and prospective partners.

The Full Time MBA in Innovation Management also offers the flexibility to take additional electives or catch up some of the mandatory courses – at no extra academic cost – in one of the other Ponts or Solvay MBA and E-MBA programs in Brussels, Paris, Casablanca, Hanoi and Ho-Chi-Minh City.

The power of project-based learningInnovating in the classroomThe academic program of the MBA in Innovation Management is the result of our 50 years of experience in delivering MBAs in Paris, Brussels and around the world. We consistently challenge our professors, the program content and the pedagogy. We consider that some of our latest innovations are crucial to adjust to the complexities of the digital age.

Each course combines the traditional MBA case-study pedagogy and group work with real-life experiences and learning outside of class, including e-learning modules and serious games.

Most importantly, the curriculum is based on a backbone of experiential learning: by leading projects, you will gain first-hand practice and acquire a ‘learn-apply-test-iterate’ approach to business and leadership. This aptitude will definitely make a difference when you are confronted to a new challenge or an uncertain environment all through your career.

Learning, doing, being... thrivingAs described in the curriculum map below, the academic year is dividied into three terms. Classes are scheduled accordingly to serve the three key projects of your MBA. You will participate in parallel in the Leadership and Career Development Program. As a result, you will have the opportunity to learn, do, and experience your soft skills along the way.

During term 1, dedicated to Leading & Managing, with the Social Impact Project, you will either develop social entrepreneurship initiatives or work to solve real-world social challenges. The Business Performance term is based on the Strategic

Consulting Project where you will be auditing a company, identifying its key strategic challenges, and making strategic recommendations to the top management or the Board. Innovative & Agile Mindset is the final term, with the Start-Up challenge where you will have to pitch your start-up idea in front of potential investors during a ‘demo day’.

Get European work experience! Most graduates leverage their MBA to move up to more senior management positions. A good share of our alumni have also taken advantage of the program to achieve an international mobility or successfully transition to a new industry and a new function. Your personal career coach, the staff of the schools and the alumni associations will provide the right guidance and the decisive connections to accomplish your professional objective.

However, a top-ranked, internationally-accredited MBA is not a magic wand. Some of your competitors on the job market will have demonstrated their business skills on the field. Some targeted positions and industries will require hands-on practice and know-how. What’s more, you may have to convince a recruiter that you can speak the language, adjust to the company’s culture and ultimately meet the standards of performance.

At the end of the ten-month coursework, you will have the option to do a 3 to 5 months internship in the country of your choice. This option is highly recommended for those MBA participants ambitionning a radical career switch. MBA internship programs offered by MNEs and companies engaged in a “talent war” also provide the right attention to get noticed as a high potential.

Expand your skill set 360°The MBA in Innovation Management is a unique experience that will not only boost your career bust also have a major impact on your personal development. You will enjoy a dynamic learning environment composed of interactive classes, case studies, workshops, international study trips and business simulations.

As you may know, an MBA program is as much about learning from your professors as learning from your peers. In a typical MBA classroom, you will mix with 30 fellow participants from more than 15 different nationalities, a whole set of diverse backgrounds, and with an average 7 to 8 years of work experience. In and out of class, during networking activities and with your coach, you will be urged to cultivate your emotional intelligence, analyze the impact you are making in cross-cultural or trans-disciplinary contexts and, ultimately, develop your personal leadership style.

Top faculty from around the worldBecause business is international and management is cross-cultural, the École des Ponts Business School has always emphasized a global approach to teaching. Our professors come from first-class universities and business schools from different parts of the globe to teach in our programs, either in Paris or in Asia and Africa.

You will study with professors who are truly diverse in terms of their cultural, geographic and business perspectives – the programme is taught fully in English – and are commited to the highest academic standards,

This so-called ‘visiting faculty model’ is highly acclaimed by MBA participants, as we invite professors who are not only renowned for their cutting-edge research, but also repeatedly demonstrate their passion for teaching. What’s more, thanks to their early career experience, their consulting and field research activities, they all have a thorough understanding of the stakes and constraints of corporate life. You will benefit from the most up-to-date and relevant academic concepts as well as their real-world applications in different business and cultural environments. Expect to get fresh viewpoints and specialized skills you can immediately put to good use!

Leadership & Career Development ProgramAt the École des Ponts Business School, we believe that an MBA is not simply an academic program. You are undertaking a transformative journey which will take you to the career you dream of and excel at.

At three key moments throughout the program, you will engage in a two-day leadership retreat. Our team of talented career and leadership coaches will guide you beyond your comfort zone. They will also inspire the whole cohort to make sure you succeed in your MBA transformation as a group.

The four half-day seminars are designed to equip you with the career and job-hunting skills necessary to thrive in the corporate world and in start-ups as well: personal branding, social media, individual and group interview techniques, user cases, job fairs and networking.

As the next steps in your career path are determined by your specific experience, skill set, personality and objectives, it is also natural that career guidance should be a one-to-one affair. A personal coach will work with you to effectively prioritize your objectives, successfully accentuate your strengths, optimally leverage your MBA, and, ultimately, embrace the new career you aspire to.

The Leadership Week will be the culminating point of your year at École des Ponts. Over five days, on campus, you will meet with international thought leaders and top executives – from our community and beyond – gathered in Paris to empower and inspire you. You will gain unique insights, challenge the experts with your questions and engage in a peer-to-peer conversation into the future of business with world-renowned influencers and decision-makers!

Networking across five continentsCreating value for our graduates is the number one reason why two prestigious schools have decided to jointly deliver this Full-Time MBA. As business is increasingly global, as company ownership often changes over time, as relocating and extensively travelling is part of the executive life, we know that a globally-recognized postgraduate degree is a tremendous asset in the corporate world.

By joining the MBA in Innovation Management from École des Ponts Business School and Solvay Brussels School, you will join a worldwide network over 35,000 members strong, including 6 CEOs of Fortune 500 companies – and an extended network of 285,000+ ParisTech (Paris Institute of Technology), and Université Libre de Bruxelles alumni.

Beyond the numbers, what really makes a difference is the feeling of belonging to a special group that shares the same values and ambition to impact the business world of tomorrow. This is why we regularly organize worldwide alumni meetings like the one held in Marrakech in May 2015, where 500 delegates from all corners of the globe came together to discuss sustainability, CSR, leading change, and how to do well in business while doing good for society.

Your career transformation starts now
