OBJECTIVE

The purpose of Business Quantitative Techniques is to give students, primarily those in the field of business administration a conceptual introduction to the field of statistics and its many applications. Knowledge of these topics especially now a day is extremely critical to decision making and for the analysis of data. Using Quantitative Techniques, we are able nowTo predict the likelihood of an event occurring, organize and Evaluate data, and identify the significance of statements. It will tell us how to apply the Business Techniques in real scenario.Most benefits we got from this project are the Experience of forecasting and knowing that how the Quantitative Techniques are in the books and how are they in the real life.

BREIF INTRODUCTION

We have selected three populations, which are universities of Government named as Punjab University Gujranwala CampusUniversity of GujratUniversity of Sargodha Gujranwala Campus

Punjab UniversityPunjab university Gujranwala campus is situated near Alipur Chowk G.T road. It has different branches in different cities as well but we are going to take only the Gujranwala campus. University of Gujrat This university was established in 2003 by chief minister Ch. Pervaiz Elahi in Gujrat. This university covers many areas in the region; the cities attached to these universities are Wazirabad, Gujranwala, Kharian and Gujrat itself. This university is going forward in every field of study. It has also a wide area in which university is built.University of SargodhaUniversity of Sargodha was established in 2002. Actually it was upgraded in 2002 from college to university. They struggle too much for the betterment of the study level in the university. At start it was a school and then college and then starts the graduates and post graduates classes also named as mini university. And now they have open different campuses in different cities. The survey will be conducted only in Gujranwala Campus.Purpose of this ProjectWe are doing this project to know the satisfaction level of the students of these universities. To know that how much they are satisfied with their university.

DESCRIPTIVE ANALYSIS

Descriptive statisticsis the discipline of quantitatively describing the main features of a collection ofdata.We have conducted the descriptive analysis on UOG, UOS and PU. In this respect, we formed questionnaires visited to these Universities took the sample size of 50 and conducted survey via questionnaires. We want to check the Satisfaction level of the students of these universities regarding University Fee structure, University Infrastructure, Teaching Methodology and University Policies. For this purpose we have applied various tools to analyze the data.The tools applied are:MeanThesample meanis theaverageand is computed as the sum of all the observed outcomes from the sample divided by the total number of events.Standard Deviation The variance and standard deviation describe how the data is spread out. If the data all lies close to the mean, then the standard deviation will be small, while if the data is spread out over a large range of values then itwill be large. Having outliers will increase the standard deviation.KurtosisKurtosis is the measure of the peak of a distribution, and indicates how high the distribution is around themean. The kurtosis of distributions is in one of three categories of classification: Mesokurtic Leptokurtic Platykurtic

Coefficient of variation (CV)The coefficient of variation (CV) refers to a statistical measure of the distribution of data points in a data series around the mean. It represents the ratio of the standard deviation to the mean. The coefficient of variation is a helpful statistic in comparing the degree of variation from one data series to the other, although the means are considerably different from each other. The higher the value of CV, the higher the dispersion in the variable.SkewnessSkew, orskewness, can be mathematically defined as the averaged cubed deviation from the mean divided by the standard deviation cubed. If the result of the computation is greater than zero, the distribution is positively skewed. If it's less than zero, it's negatively skewed and equal to zero means it's symmetric

Standard Deviation0.8573809190.9989279970.924441365

C.V0.190.180.20

ExplanationMean In the comparison of these three universities the most students of the Punjab University are more agreed regarding student satisfaction than the UOG and UOS that the students of Punjab university are more satisfied with the university as while studying in this university they are feeling satisfy with the overall opportunities provided by the university and also recommend others to join this university. Standard deviationThere is the highest deviation in the data of student satisfaction of P.U among all whereas actually the dispersion is not too much because a low standard deviation indicates that the data points tend to be very close to themean.C.VC.V is used for the performance evaluation between different variables. The lesser the value of C.V the more the satisfaction level. In this case the C.V of Punjab University is the least. So this concludes that the satisfaction level of the students of P.U is the highest of all.

Comparison of fee structure17. UOGPUUOS

C.V0.190.300.36

ExplanationMean The students of Punjab University are more agreed regarding fee structure than the students of UOG and UOS. They agreed that they are getting the same standard of education as they are being charged.Whereas the students of UOG and UOS are neutral about the fee structure, they neither disagreed nor agreed in this regard. Standard deviationThere is highest deviation in the data relating to fee structure of UOS and there is least deviation in the data of UOG. The dispersion of data in PU is in middle while comparing the deviation of these three universities. C.VIn this case the C.V of UOG is the least. So this concludes that the satisfaction level of the students of UOG regarding fee structure is the highest of all.

Explanation MeanThe students of Punjab University are more agreed that the university policies are adequate and adaptable. And the students of UOG and UOS are neutral about the university policies. Standard deviationThere is highest deviation in the university policies data of UOS, means that the data of UOS regarding university policies is more dispersed than UOG and PU.C.VIn this case the C.V of UOG is the least. So this concludes that the consistency of the students of UOG regarding their opinion about University policies is same i.e. neutral.

ANOVA

In the first phase of project we did descriptive analysis of our data. Now we want to compare the different variables used in our data with each other. For this purpose we will run ANOVA on the data of Fee Structure, University Infrastructure, teaching Methodology, University Policies and Satisfaction level of Students of three Universities i.e. University of Gujrat, Punjab University and University of Sargodha.We will use the data already obtain through questionnaires. We had gathered the data relating to above mentioned variables of 50 samples each.Comparison of Fee StructureH0:1=2=3H1:12321. SUMMARY

GENERAL REGRESSION

Multiple regression analysis is used to test the effects of independent (predictor) variables on a single dependent (criterion) variable. Regression tests the deviation about the means, and all variables must be at least interval scaled. Computationally, regression analysis may be conducted using either a raw data matrix (respondents by variables) or a correlation matrix.

Regression analysis measures the degree of influence of the independent variables on a dependent variable. In the case of simple bivariate regression where there is a single independent variable, the dependent variable could be predicted from the independent variable by the simple equation: y = a + bx {where a is constant}

This could be extended to a multi-variable concept as follows:

y = a + bx1+ b2x2+ b3x3+ .. +bnxn

It should be noted that whether it be for a single variable or for multiple variables, the relationship predicted is always linear.So far we have applied some descriptive tools to analyze the data as well as the Anova. Now, in this part we want to analyze what type of relationship exist between Satisfaction level and other variables and how they affect the Satisfaction Level? Further well determine a regression equation to predict the Satisfaction level of those students. In other words well see how the change in independent variables i.e. Fee Structure, University Infrastructure, Teaching Methodology, and University Policies affect the dependent variable i.e. Satisfaction level.To pursue our purpose well use the data already obtained through questionnaires

GENERAL CORRELATION

The correlation measures the interdependence between two variables. Correlation is the degree of the co variation between the variables. It also determines that either there exists any relationship between variables or not.The correlation measures the strength of the linear relationship between numerical variables, for example, the height of men and their shoe size or height and weight. In these situations the goal is not to use one variable to predict another but to show the strength of the linear relationship that exists between the two numerical variables.The strength of linear association between two numerical variables in a population is determined by the correlation coefficient, , whose range is -1 to +1.A set of data can be positively correlated, negatively correlated or not correlated at all. As one set of values increases the other set tends to increase then it is called a positive correlation.As one set of values increases the other set tends to decrease then it is called a negative correlation.If the change in values of one set does not affect the values of the other, then the variables are said to have "no correlation" or zero correlation".Acausal relationbetween two events exists if the occurrence of the first causes the other. The first event is called the cause and the second event is called the effect. A correlation between two variables does not imply causation. On the other hand, if there is a causal relationship between two variables, they must be correlated.

CONCLUSION & CRUX OF STUDY

We have applied various tools to analyze the data. First of all we applied descriptive statistics, then ANOVA and in the end we checked the effect of independent variables on dependent variables and developed a regression equation to predict Student Satisfaction.In the end of our project we can conclude that in the comparison of these three universities the students of the Punjab University are more agreed regarding student satisfaction than the students of UOG and UOS .it means that that the satisfaction level of students of P U is the highest of all because all the variables being tested in this research showed the most positive results for P U. The students of P U are not only satisfied with the Fee Structure but also they very much satisfied with the University Infrastructure, Teaching Methodology and the University Policies. These students do believe that they are getting the same standard of education as they are being charged, they do believe university classrooms are up-to-date and its building attracts them, they showed positive views regarding teaching methodology as they are of the opinion that it is appropriate there and that the teachers are helpful and qualified, and last but not the least they strongly believe that the university policies are adequate and adaptable and they are satisfied with the overall opportunities provided by the university and will also recommend others to join this university.Whereas the students of UOG and UOS showed neutral attitude when the same question were put in to discussion with them through the obvious mode of questionnaire, except for the University Infrastructure in which the student satisfaction of UOG was the highest among all the Universities as they do believe that university classrooms are up-to-date and its building attracts them. Other than that the students of both these universities were neither completely satisfied nor dissatisfied regarding the overall satisfaction level and the opportunities provided by the university.

CRUX In our study we have conducted a survey on the students of three different universities of Punjab. We have discussed different factors affecting the performance of students and teachers. We have used three important statistical tools for data analysis. The crux of the study in our case can be made about student satisfaction. We have already concluded that Punjab University is probably best for studies as compared to the other two universities. We have made this conclusion on the basis of the factor of student satisfaction in these universities. We have also discussed other factors in our study but we have noticed that student satisfaction has a large influence on the results of our analysis and therefore it can be considered as the crux of our study. Regarding this factor Punjab University has shown positive results as compared to the results of other two universities and hence these two universities need to take some important steps to satisfy their students in different matters.

SUGGESTION AND RECOMMENDATIOJNS

We are very glad to complete our research regarding UOG, PU and UOS. We have applied various tools to analyze the data. First of all we applied descriptive statistics, then ANOVA and in the end we checked the effect of independent variables on dependent variables and developed a regression equation to predict Student Satisfaction.Now we are in a condition to make some recommendations: UOG must also consider other factors affecting the Satisfaction of their respected students other than University infrastructure, they must develop a good system for their fee structure, hire competent and professional faculty and moreover revise their over all University policy in order to compete with other Government sector universities and more importantly to enhance the student satisfaction level. P U has got no such flaws as to address the issues regarding satisfaction level, but still nothing is perfect they are little bit on the back seat regarding their University Infrastructure in comparison with the UOG, the administration should address this issue to further enhance the student satisfaction, but most importantly they should not only retain those positives extracted by the result shown by the students, the administration should also polish them further and must change them according to the demand and need of the time. The administration of UOS must revise all the policies implemented at this particular time. Because the students did not even show a minor satisfaction in any of the variables considered by us in this particular research, most of the students were in the state of ambiguity. They were neither satisfied nor dissatisfied. This is the reason the results shown were vey much ambiguous, so our recommendation towards the university administration is that they should revise each and everything from fee structure to University policies in order to competitive and most importantly to enhance the satisfaction of their students.
