Video photometer provides automated, high-resolution spatial/photometric measurements

The PR-90 Video Photometer in- creases the speed and accuracy of displays analysis through a combination of the ‘state-of-the- art’ in video image processing with the ‘standard~f-the-industry’ reputation and experience of the mamifacturer in display measure- ment and metrology. This is according to the company that manufacturers the PR-8CQ Photo Research Ltd.

The PR-OOO is used for spatial, photometric and calorimetric in- spection of colour and monoch- rome CRTs, flat-panel and other image-producing systems. It func- tions in a wide range of ATE envi- ronments.

The system measures himi- nance, lumihance profiles in two or three-dimensions, display uni- formity (including pseudo-colour presentation), line width and char- acter size, at video frame rates. chromaticity, misconvergence and MTF measurement modules are available as options.

The PR-WO is composed of a personal computer (IBM compat- ible) system software, multisync monitor, video camera and image digitizer. For semi- or fully-auto- mated measurement processes, users can elect optional multi-axis

Acording to Alan McGinnis, Photo Research Director of Mar- keting, This new video photo- metry family provides our customers with new capabilities to handle a broader rsnge of appli-

cations. Now Photo Research of- fers a test instrument that is available to perform as a turnkey system, oraspartoftheexisGng ATR environment.

Another new technology dis- cussed in the brochure is Mitsubis- hi’s Diamond Matte @VI) screen coating. This is a particular silica

coating developed to counteract the problems of direct etching on colour CRTs. DM coating eradi- cates glare with minimal effect on resolution, helps prevent static build-up, and even provides a measure of protection against scratching and chemical spillage.
