What am I doing here?
Ambition –
Something that you want to do or
achieve very much.
A strong desire to be successful.
Goal –
Your Purpose or aim.
Purpose –The aim or intention of something.
The meaning or reason for
existence.
Ambition and Goal are career oriented
because they mainly focus on:
What I want to become (Profession or
career)
What I want to accomplish (Academic
excellence, Award, Fame, Approval)
Purpose is spiritual oriented because it
focuses on:
What I am meant for (The only true reason
why I am here)
Our Ultimate Purposes are:1.To have an intimate and personal
relationship with God.
Revelation 3:20, “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.”
2. To glorify God in everything we: think, feel, say, and do
Psalm 63:3, Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.
Philippians 4:8, Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
3. To honor God in everything we have: Our time
Ecclesiastes 12:1, Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say, “I find no pleasure in them”—
Our Talents (God given ability) 2 Timothy1:14, Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you—guard
it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us. Our Treasure
Matthew 6:19-21, “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
4. To consider God’s will in our planPsalm 37:5, Commit your way to the
LORD; trust in him and he will do this.
Proverbs 19:21, Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.
Reflection: Desire God
Psalm 63:1, God, You are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water.
Delight in God Psalm 37: 4, Take delight in the LORD, and he will
give you the desires of your heart. Be hungry and thirsty for righteousness.
Matthew 5:6, Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
Honor God in everything!
Honor God at all times!
Honor God in our life!
