Family Prayer

L oving and faithful God, through the years the people of our archdi-ocese have appreciated the pray-

ers and love of Our Lady of Prompt Suc-cor in times of war, disaster, epidemic and illness. We come to you, Father, with Mary our Mother, and ask you to help us in the battle of today against violence, murder and racism.

We implore you to give us your wisdom that we may build a community founded on the values of Jesus, which gives re-spect to the life and dignity of all people.

Bless parents that they may form their children in faith. Bless and protect our youth that they may be peacemakers of our time. Give consolation to those who have lost loved ones through violence.

Hear our prayer and give us the persever-ance to be a voice for life and human dignity in our community.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Our Lady of Prompt Succor, hasten to help us.

Mother Henriette Delille, pray for us that we may be a holy family.

Go make a diff'rence in the world. 1. We are the salt of the earth, called to let the people see the love of God in you and me. We are the light of the world, not to be hidden but be seen. Go make a diff'rence in the world. 2. We are the hands of Christ reaching out to those in need, the face of God for all to see. We are the spirit of hope; we are the voice of peace. Go make a diff'rence in the world. 3. So let your love shine on, let it shine for all to see. Go make a diff'rence in the world. And the spirit of Christ will be with us as we go.

Registration for Adult Volunteers

We now have the dates for Vacation Bible School set! This summer, VBS will run from Monday, July 9th-Friday, July 13th. VBS is a summer camp program that includes daily scripture review and activities about how God plays a role in our lives. This year’s theme, “Parade Around the Our Father,” where we learn about different Saints and also themes of Eucharist, Prayer, and Forgiveness, while also still making time to have fun.

Registration for Adult Volunteers (college-aged and older) has begun. Adult volunteers are necessary for Vacation Bible School to run smoothly, be organized, and most importantly, for the children to have fun and be safe. For any adults college-aged or older who en-joy working with children, are interested in pursuing a teaching or ministry career, or who may have children or relatives who would like to sign up as a camper or volunteer, this is for you.

Campers are Kindergarten-6th grade, while we are inviting 7th-12th graders to serve as junior and teen volunteers. Registration for campers and teen volun-teers will begin in mid-April.

Anyone who is interested in volunteering and serving at VBS, you may either print out the appropriate form from website, or sign up in back of church after Mass and bring forms back to the Church Office. There will be an information meeting for a chance to learn more, and also to meet and ask any questions so you can be supported. Please sign up soon, as we are trying to get as many adult volunteers as we need before Camper Registration starts. You may contact: Jacques De-louche or Ryan Foulon at the Church for questions. Thank you very much and hope to see many of you on this thrilling experience. God Bless You.

“God is rich in mercy . . .” Ephesians 2:4

I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever remains in Me and I in him will bear much fruit, because with-out Me you can do nothing. John 15:5 Jesus does not mince words – you are either with me or you are against me, clear and simple! There is no room for compromise! He loves us with an everlasting love which is unconditional regardless of the state of our souls; however, a successful covenant relationship depends on both parties playing their part. He calls on us to give up our lukewarm response to His love by giving Him everything. By asking for the gifts of faith and trust we can let go of our fears and launch our-selves into His open arms. Oh, if only we understood how much He loves us! Let us contemplate His tor-mented body hanging on the cross - He gave us every-thing - let us do our part and give Him our hearts in return. Reflection by Anne-Marie d’Abadie Barrilleaux

In today’s gospel (Jn 15:1-8), we read that we are the branches connected to the vine that is Jesus. Jesus says, “I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit, be-cause without me you can do nothing,” (Jn 15:5). Both the USCCB (United States Conference of Catholic Bish-ops) and the LIFETEEN author make reference to our extensive electronic connections through the Internet, our phones, computers, etc. We are reminded that “Beyond any digital connections,” we should look at our “divine connection” to God. Join us for a LIFETEEN or Edge event as we explore the LIFETEEN idea that, “You can’t bear fruit if you’re separated from the root.“

“Dios es rico en misericordia . . .” Efesios 2:4

Act of Spiritual Communion My Jesus, I believe that You are in the Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I long for You in my soul. Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. As though You have already come, I embrace You and unite myself en-tirely to You; never permit me to be separated from You.

piritualmente. Como ya has veni-do, Yo te abrazo y me uno entera-mente a Ti. Nunca permitas que me separe de ti.

Please pray for our military and others serving overseas • Por favor, ore por los miembros del militar y por los otros que están sirviendo en otros paises:
