ReplacementESD Prec autions a re req uired when wo rking on this LifeBoo k co mp uter.Ma ke sure the LifeBoo k is turned off b efo re beg inning this p roc ed ure.

1. Turn the LifeBook over and

remo ve the b attery

3. Release the c ab le by flipp ing the

latc h up.

2. Extrac t these 3 sc rews from the

Hard Disk Drive c over and lift it off.

4. Lift the Drive out.

5. Extrac t 11 sc rews from the low er

case.

7. Op en the LifeBoo k and lay it fla t.

9. Lift the top ed ge of the keybo ard

up a nd turn it over

11. Tilt the Disp lay up a nd rota te it

turn.

6. Extrac t 2 sc rews from the rea r of

the LifeBook.

8. Use a p lastic p ry too l to remove

the keyboa rd up pe r trim.

10. Disc onnec t the keybo a rd a nd

ClickPoint c ab les from the system

bo ard b y pulling them ge ntly.

12. Slide out the lowe r hinge c ove r.

13. Turn the Disp lay bac k and lay it

down.

15. Extrac t 2 sc rews from the Disp lay

hinge.

17. Extrac t 4 sc rews from the up per

c ase and o pen the external VGA

co nnector cover.

19. Lift off the upper c ase.

14. Disc onnec t 2 Disp lay cab les from

the system bo ard a nd the 2 antenna

c ab les from the WLAN Card .

16. Lift the Disp lay off the lowe r

assembly.

18. Disc onne c t the Clic kPoint butto n

c ab le a nd the spe aker c ab le from

the system boa rd .

20. Extrac t 2 hex sc rews from the

external VGA c onnec tor.

21. Disc onne c t the IO Boa rd ribbon

ca ble and the Bluetooth a ntenna

cable. -2762_close

23. Turn the IO Boa rd over, extrac t 2

sc rew s from the m od em and lift it off.

25. Insert the IO Boa rd into the lowe r

c ase a nd sec ure it with 4 sc rew s.

27. Insert 2 hex sc rews into the

external VGA c onnec tor.

22. Extrac t 4 sc rews from the IO

Boa rd and lift it and the RJ11

c onnec tor out of the low er c ase.

24. Transfer the c onnec to r to the

new Mod em , press it onto the new

IO Boa rd a nd sec ure it with 2 sc rew s.

26. Connec t the IO Boa rd ribbon

ca ble and the Bluetooth a ntenna

cable.

28. Plac e the upp er c ase and

c onnec t the Clic kPoint button c ab le

and the spe aker c ab le.

29. Close the external VGA

co nnector co ver and sec ure the

upper case with 4 screws.

31. Sec ure the d isp lay with 2 sc rews

in the hinge .

33. Tilt the d isp lay up a nd rota te it

turn.

35. Turn the Disp lay bac k and lay it

down.

30. Extrac t 3 sc rews from the PCB.

32. Atta c h the 2 disp lay c ab les to

the system bo ard a nd the 2 antenna

Ca b les to the WLAN ca rd .

34. Slide the low er hinge c over into

place.

36. Plug in the c ab les for the

keyboa rd and Clic kPoint.

37. Turn the keyb oard ove r and slide

it into p lac e

39. Close the LifeBoo k and turn it

over.

41. Insert 11 sc rews into the lower

case.

43. Press the la tc h do wn to loc k the

ca ble into place.

38. Press the keyboard upper trim

into place .

40. Insert 2 sc rews into the rea r of

the LifeBook.

42. Insert the Hard Drive.

44. Rep lac e the Drive cove r and

sec ure it w ith 3 sc rews.

45. Rep lac e the ba ttery.
