Cables play an important role in our daily lives. Although we neglect them most of the time, they are present in almost all the electrical devices that we use every day. For example, the electricity that is provided to our house comes via high voltage electrical cables, Internet connection to our PCs and routers used to be connected via DSL.

A cable gland is an equipment, which is used to connect the cables to the desired device. They are present at the terminal part of the cables and are necessary to protect the cables from damage and stress, so that they can last longer. Hence, these cable glands act as strain-relievers for the cables. These cable glands can also be used to seal cables when they are being passed through bulkheads.

Nowadays, cable glands are manufactured from a variety of materials, including metals and non-metals. The main components used are brass, steel, plastics. These cable glands are used almost everywhere where cables are involved such as high voltage electrical cables, data transmission cables and also control cables.
