(2008) Hobbes state of nature is not a one -shot prisoners dilemma. Philosophical Society of SouthernAfrica Conference. (Pretoria, University of Pretoria).
Current Projects/Interests:This year (2011) the project I have put time into, aside from lecturing at the Durban University of Technology (DUT), is education outreach. This has taken place through the NGO Feeding the Self, of
which I was a founding member. In partnership with ELET (Environment and Language Education Trust)the project has installed productive food gardens into under-resourced school environments. Throughmy involvement in coursework and material design these gardens and the learners work therein wereintegrated directly in to the natural sciences elemen ts of the schools grade 6 and 7 classes. The materialwas designed to further integrate with the languages, mathematics and life orientation elements of thecurriculum. The learners were, as a result of course design, encouraged to take what they had learnt inthe school gardens and reproduce/apply it within their homes and communities by starting their ownproductive garden projects.
Beyond this I read extensively keeping abreast of the latest events in the world of economics, science, culture and political theory. I also write and am working on several book projects, and havecompleted my first novel.
