The National Rural Livelihood Mission functions in a mission mode for target based time bounddelivery of outcomes following a demand driven approach which would allow the states to formulate theirown poverty alleviation plan. The livelihoods being one of the most important components of alleviatingpoverty requires comprehensive training and capacity building to support the NRLM objectives. In view ofit, MoRD decided to empanel a pool of Livelihood resource persons for livelihoods trainings in SustainableAgriculture, non Timber Forest Products (NTFP) based livelihoods and livestock in the appropriatetimeline.

Accordingly, a pool of29 resource persons(including existing NRPs) at the National level includingNorth eastern states have been identified by NRLM Resource Cell, NIRD&PR and NMMU, MoRD jointly.Based on mutual exploration and assessment of their thematic interest' and usefulness, they have beenoriented to NRLM concept in September 2016 by NRLM RC, NIRDPR and NMMU. The resource personshave been graded as per the experience and expertises for paying resource fee.

The prepared resource persons list, based on geographic and thematic interests of resource personswill be updated regularly. NIRD&PR, NMMU and SRLMs will focus on increasing the list of resourcepersons. It is proposed to build up a strong cadre of NRPs at National level and utilize their knowledge,expertise and experience for NRLM processes, trainings, preparation of modules, resource blockprocess(field visits), documentation of case studies, best practices and handholding support to SRLMs onneed based.

SRLMs/SIRDs have been suggested to develop their own State Resource Persons (SRPs) to meet thecapacity building needs. These State Resource Pools will be inducted by SRLM's with support from theNIRD&PR and NMMU. National Resource Person's services will be utilized by the NIRD&PR, NMMUand SRLMs for different kinds of CB programs.

The list of identified of National pool of resource persons of various categories is enclosed for kindperusal and use.
