MASTER OF SCHOOL ADMINSTRATION DEGREE PROGRAM INFORMATION SHEET

Fayetteville State University’s Master of School Administration Program is designed to prepare school leaders for the nation. All students enrolled in the Master of School Administration Program complete forty-two (42) hours of graduate course credits, including six (6) hours of electives. Students must also pass a comprehensive examination. The program cohorts begin each fall semester and complete the program in two years. A year-long, full-time internship is a program requirement. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

• Completion of Fayetteville State University Graduate School application • Undergraduate GPA of 2.75 overall or 3.00 in the last sixty (60) hours of coursework • GRE or MAT scores that are no more than five (5) years old. • Three letters of recommendation • A North Carolina A or M teaching license • Essay outlining graduate school educational goals and professional objectives (One to two pages, to

be submitted with Graduate School application) • Completion of an interview and writing exercise

The doctoral Program in educational leadership requires sixty (60) semester hours of graduate course credits. This program is designed for senior level or aspiring educational leaders who will, as facilitators of learning become change agents in the cultural, economic, social, and educational development of North Carolina and the Nation.

Students will be admitted in cohorts. A full-time residency or its equivalent must be completed in the first year followed by a yearlong internship in the second year. Candidates must pass a comprehensive examination at the end of appropriate courses and satisfactorily defend the dissertation at the culmination of the program. For spe-cific requirements and procedures for matriculating through the program, please contact the director of the ed.d. program or see the ed.d. Program manual.
