The company

Our roots lie in the provision of transport ser-

vices to the timber, sawmill and paper indus-

tries – operations which shaped the company

as a service provider from its very inception.

Our company – a family enterprise now in its

economic and ecological conversion of all

residual waste. The prerequisites for this are

that each type of residual waste is defined

clearly and unambiguously classified and an

accordingly suitable, professional recycling

concept is designed.

The process-integrated treatment of waste pa-

per and the associated separation of contami-

nants are fully-automatic processes at mod-

ern paper mills. The ensuing residual waste

contains a wide range of components which

unique national waste codes, these products

have no unified composition and therefore re-

quire especially sensitive disposal methods.

The Group’s own processing and power plants

– in which refuse and residual waste are con-

verted into useful energy – are at the very core

of the concept. Refuse-derived fuel is made to

order in the processing units and delivered to

the user “ready-to-burn”.

State-of-the-art processing plants with a

combined total capacity of 750,000 tonnes

per annum are currently operated in Buseck,

Weidenhausen, Rennerod and Glückstadt and

produce alternative raw materials and fuel

from residual waste, household, industrial and

mixed building waste, paper industry residues

and production-specific waste etc. – i.e. recy-

clable materials are recovered and quality fuel

produced.

Our RDF power station – providing energy to industry

Safe RDF conversion & guaranteed energy provision

B+T Energy has assumed the provision of the

SCA Paper Mill at Witzenhausen with energy

from its RDF refuse-derived fuel power station.

The Witzenhausen RDF power station is the

first facility in Germany to fully provide a major

industrial customer with alternative RDF en-

ergy and simultaneously to guarantee efficient

and environmentally-friendly energy conver-

sion from refuse-derived fuel. With an energy

conversion coefficient which exceeds 60 %,

the power station is a representative model of

the “waste-to-energy” conversion concept.

The plant is fitted with a circulating fluidised

bed for refuse-derived fuel of medium calorific

value and has a thermal fuel output power ca-

pacity of 124MW.

The B+T Group is responsible for providing the

requisite amount of refuse-derived fuel, dis-

posing of ash and cinder residues and regu-

larly monitoring plant safety and quality.

Optimum waste disposal must envisage the recycling of all waste products generated by

the plant – and these include ash. Efficient ash disposal requires the creation of a separate,

specific material flow process. We reduce customer costs to a minimum by maximising the

product recycling mass flow rate.
