When weather conditions place the safety of student transport at risk, we may suspend school bus services. Services may be suspended based on the following weather factors:
Temperature at or below -40 C
Wind-chill temperature at or below -50 C
Visibility of less than 1 km
Reports from bus drivers and/or county representatives that many rural roads are, or will soon be, impassable During poor weather, the final decision to send a child to the bus stop or to school rests with parents. Parents should ensure that students are dressed appropriately while travelling to and from school.
Parents are responsible for seeking information regarding school closures or bus cancellations. Current bus status information is available online. In addition, the following radio stations will announce school and bus cancellations:
CBC 740AM
CFCW 790AM
CHQT 880AM
CHED 630AM
