From the Athlecs assembly yesterday, right back through all the events throughout the team, we have amazing students – who are really doing us proud. Your paence with the changes in metable, room availabilies and absent teachers has been appreciated and we are encouraged by the support of our parents. D and T will be back up and running next term and we look forward to welcoming our new staff member Rebekah Clissold. Rebekah is from Queensland but has been teaching in Perth. She will be teaching a number of subjects in the Secondary secon and we are looking forward to her valuable contribuon for Term 4 and beyond. Thank you to all the parents who came to our Athlecs assembly yesterday – it was again a wonderful event. Well done to all of the medal and trophy winners and everyone who parcipated and made it a success on the day. Thank you to Mrs Dredge and Mrs Norman for taking the baton of organisaon and for running the assembly – you did Mrs Wiese (and us) proud! Great to have Mrs Wiese back – we really appreciate her passion in the sporng area – every event is a real highlight! GBC co-hosted (with Design Sense) the September Business aſter Hours – which is a networking event run through the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Chamber of Commerce & Industry. It was a great showcase for our College – as Carla and Kiyomi made the food, a couple of Year 10s served the food and our Primary head boy and girl presented a firsthand account of our community – we even had a group give us a sneak preview of a scene from “Chiy, Chiy Bang Bang”. There were many posive comments about the venue and our students – which made for a memorable night. Thank you to the staff and Parents who supported the evening. It was great to have the Scorchers Cricket come and run some acvies this week – they were well received and this has begun to put cricket as a topic of conversaon in the primary secon of the College. The Mascot Blaze got a bit of aenon – even from a couple of staff members, who took selfies with him. There will be future opportunies to have a return visit – which will be excing. The P and F will have the Parent Care Café open aſter each assembly – with coffee, tea and cake on offer. Please feel free to pop in for a cuppa and chat – it is a great way to get to know people. Have a fantasc and safe holiday – the newsleer will return next term. The best is yet to come! Blessings, Craig Dates for Your Diary... What does the Bible say...

Be kindIn Ephesians 4:32 the Bible says that “Instead, be kind to each other, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.”

The Macmillan Australian School Dictionary describes kind as, “being friendly and good to others; gentle”. So to be kind can also mean to be friendly, good and gentle towards other people. The object of our kindness should always be to others and not to ourselves. Even though the object of our kindness is supposed to be towards other people, at the end of the day we also end up receiving kind gestures from others. Most people are sad these days because instead of being kind to others we expect everyone else to show us kindness.

I think we all will agree that this world would be a better place for everyone if all of us would be a little kinder to each other. So let all the members of the GBC community (staff, students and parents) get out there and show a little kindness, share a little kindness and be a little kind to each other.

In case you are wondering how to do this; then just go out of your way and be friendly to someone who is usually unfriendly, be good to someone has been mean or nasty to you and be gentle in all your dealings. Let us determine to be kind to each other not because of the other person but due to our love for God.

Always in all our actions let us remember the golden rule, “Do to others what you would have them do to you”. Stay blessed.
