Principal’s Message

The late spring weather characterized by fluctuating temperature, unexpected showers and suffocating humidity had brought me fever, bad throat and chronic coughs for a few weeks. The discomfort slowed me down, not to mention the tedious visits to doctors and herbalists. There was nothing I could do but take medicine faithfully and wait for the symptoms to subside.

My gratitude goes to colleagues who covered me up on my sick leave and their endurance of my substandard condition after I resumed duty. A big thank-you goes to caring parents of HLC who recommended me recipes and food for recovery. I temporarily lost my health but the loving care will stay in my heart forever.

Look around you for your guarding angels!

S.2 students designed wind cars while S.3 students actively participated in the Catapult competition. There was also a STEM workshop.

Every year HLCians visit different historic sites and universities to broaden their horizons.

The Library held a book exchange in order to promote the habit of reading and share enjoyable stories.

Congratulations to the English Drama Club

The Club has won the Award for Outstanding Performer (3A Viola Lau & 3B Cheryl Fan), the Award for Outstanding Stage Effect and the Award for Outstanding Cooperation. Josephine and Her Dreamcoat has been successfully staged on four occasions: Pre-S.1 Presentation, the Drama Festival, a Friday Assembly and an evening performance on 3 March 2017.


English Extended Programme

While one group of S.4 students engaged in cultural exchanges with their western counterparts, another group joined a cooking competition.

HLC Family Lunch

To strengthen staff morale and harmony, a family lunch was held after Chinese New Year. Buffet lunch, ball games, lucky draws and singing brought joy and laughter to all.

Positive Education Week

Lunchtime activities were held to expose students to different ways of leading flourishing lives.

Principal’s Prize

She, like many of our security guards, controls students’ entries and exits to ensure everyone’s safety. During weekends, she can also be found at the school entrance. She has served our school for almost five years. Let’s show our respect for her by greeting her every day no matter how early in the morning or late in the evening.

If you know the name of this guard, place your answer in the collection box outside the General Office by 5:30p.m on 26 May. The Principal will draw FIVE lucky winners who will receive a tuck shop voucher.
