Welcome back to Term

It’s time to enrol for 2021

As you would be aware, late last Monday evening, I was informed that Greenway Park Public School had two students who tested positive to Covid 19. I have spoken to the family twice since then and can confirm that both of the children (who are from the same family) are recovering well. We wish them all the best for a continued speedy recovery and look forward to seeing them back at school once the NSW department of health advises it is safe. We still have quite a few children and staff members who are in self isolation having been identified as close contacts to the children. They have all been contacted by NSW health and advised of their required time to isolate. We would like to send them our best wishes and let them know we are thinking of them and can’t wait to have them back at school. To the rest of our community I would like to thank you all for your ongoing support. Your lovely emails and phone calls have been appreciated by our teachers and office staff. I would also like to assure you that Greenway Park Public School continues to follow the updated NSW health advice and AHPPC guidelines and protocols. If you would like to know more about the response protocols, you can find it on the department’s website.

It has come to our attention that many of our families have outdated contact information in our system. This is despite the fact that every year we ask families to inform the school of any changes. The school is currently in the process of updating all student contact details including emails, mobile phone numbers and home phone numbers. More information will be sent out to you next week. It is imperative that the school is able to contact families when the need arises, so we ask for your support in this matter. Recent feedback from our community has indicated that the preferred method of communication when it comes to important information is through text message and email. We have already taken this on board and many of you would have received text messages and emails over the last week. Communication with our community is extremely important to us and while we will continue using the school’s Facebook page, the school app and the school website we hope that by incorporating these other two methods that our level of communication will be even more effective.

PBL NEWS Greenway Park Public School is pleased to announce the new

Gary Goanna was designed to remind students about our school

Students will begin to see Gary Goanna displayed within

classrooms and around the playground.

Do you have a child who is starting school next year? We are currently taking enrolments for Kindergarten 2021. It is imperative that you call the office and arrange to collect an enrolment package from the office as soon as possible.

KINDERGARTEN 2021 heTHEN FROM ME FROM ME SURVEY

School Photos Monday 7th September 2020

Parents should still have the payment envelopes which were sent home with their child in March. Payment options are detailed on your child’s payment envelope so please read these carefully. Payment for photos are processed by the photography company NOT Greenway Park Public School. Every child must have their own envelope even if you have paid for your photos online.

Please contact the school office on 8783 0859 if you have misplaced your child’s photo envelope.

For security reasons, the school will not be collecting and holding photograph money prior to the day the photographs are taken. Your child must bring their photo order envelope and payment to school and hand it to their class teacher on Monday 7th September. The ONLY exception is sibling photo payment envelopes which must be returned to the office before photo day. Please have the correct money in the payment envelope as change can not be given.

Families with 2 or more students attending the school have the opportunity to purchase sibling photographs. Please contact the school office on 8783 0859 if you require sibling photograph envelopes.

In this very unpredictable and crazy year, it’s important that we all continue to support each other. This has stood true for 4K as we always work together, have bucket loads of fun and give our best. It has been a pleasure to be a part of this class and I am just as glad to look forward to what else is yet to come.

So exactly who are the mighty and wonderful 4K? Let us show you so we can blow you away. With our clever class made of multiple passions and talents; We have comedians, sport stars, dancers, musicians, singers, actors, calculators…you name it!

Sparkling smiles that always light up the room; To each other they are a collective boon. They go marbles when they acquire knowledge; To do the best they can is their ongoing pledge.

And even when they’re all about high expectations, The most important thing is that we enjoy our daily congregations. I mean…You could mistake us for hyenas as such, For you’ll always catch us laughing way too much!

Even with these crazy times, we too have remained a little crazy! But that’s the spark that prevents us from being lazy As we certainly make the most of everyday together; For they do love a good riddle - but it’s no secret that we appreciate

each other

How do I know what’s happening at Greenway Park Public School?

The NSW government has launched an app last year during the bushfires that informs parents and caregivers directly if their child’s school is closed. It is advised that you download this app onto your phone.

2. Orders will need to be prepaid using credit card details on the form, or you

can phone through your order between 9:00am – 5:00pm on 0416 058 348

3. Orders will delivered to the eldest student’s class for them to bring home within 2

days of the order being placed
