From the PREZ
Greetings all,
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. We had seven over for the day and en-
joyed a very nice turkey dinner with all the trimmings . We watched football for the
rest of the afternoon until the Tryptophan effect took hold.
Not much has transpired Corvette wise in the last month except for the bad news of
huge layoffs and plant closures at GM. I understand most are white collar jobs deal-
ing with the internal combustion engines and plant closures associated with low
sales of some models of GM cars. Those kind of layoffs have a huge ripple effect
with not only the GM employees but all the parts suppliers & dealers too. Recent
news articles indicate GM is forging ahead with autonomous and electric vehicles.
The Bowling Green plant production of Corvettes was way down before they closed
it to refab for the C8 and mid-engine Corvette. They also say the Corvette line will
be safe. I wonder what the Corvette experience will be like even if you don’t have to
drive it or put premium gas in it. I guess time will tell.
With the Annual Banquet & Elections fast approaching on January 12th , we have
some very good candidates running for club offices for 2019. If you would like to
nominate someone, please do so at the next meeting.. We will continue to accept
nominations until the end of the December meeting.
If you have not signed up to attend the banquet and intend on going please contact
Mary Tantriella. The menu selections for the dinner are now posted on the web site.
Also, please feel free to donate a door prize and bring it to the banquet.
Also, remember your 2019 dues are due. $40 bucks gets you another year of memo-
rable Spokane Corvette Club adventures and a very fine 2019 Corvette club calen-
dar produced by our own Pat and Arlyn Thurber.

SPOKANE CORVETTE CLUB From the PREZ (cont.)
So far I have not noticed any 2019 shows or caravans advertised on the web except, of
course, the 2019 Corvette Museum caravan in August 2019. I’m sure they will start to come
out soon after the first of the year.
Thanks and see you all at the next SCC meeting on December 12th @ Prospectors.
