Shikha PathshalaThe fifth community service project was organised Saturday, 5th November 2016 at Shikha Pathshala. Here basic education is provided to poor underprivileged children from the slums & vocational education to ladies Run by our own R'nn Kamlesh Chaudhry it is a remarkable effort to make a small difference in the lives of these children who have no access to any form of formal education. 14 Southenders were given a warm welcome by the children of Shikha Pathshala who had specially prepared a spectacular song and dance programme for us. Their excitement and enthusiasm was worth every minute of the time spent there. Many of the children have achieved great heights and got good jobs inspite of their tough circumstances.

Besides the 1 lakh donation by the Club the group members privately collected Rs 75000 to support :-

1. White-wash of the Institution2. Making one toilet 3. Mats4. Notebooks and stationary5. 4 Computers6. 4 Printer7. 4 UPS8. Table and chairs

The morning was followed by fellowship and bonding over chaat and snacks at Bikanerwala.

We thank, Chairperson R'ann Sangeeta Dhingra for the great effort she has put in to make this project successful. We would also like to thank all the members who contributed towards the whopping amount of supplementary donation.

The Pulse Polio camp was organised on Sunday, 13th November 2016 at Army Hospital in Delhi Cantt. Many infants and children came for those two drops of life. More than a dozen rotarians gathered there for this noble cause and to celebrate the wedding anniversary of our dear PP Rtn Sunnie n R'ann Savina Ahuja . Fellowship over cake and snacks relished not only by the Southenders but also by all the children, staff, guards and cleaning ladies at the hospital. What a great feeling it was to celebrate with all of them.It is heartening to know that we are very close to the completion of our mission to eradicate polio.

An annual event held at the Galgotia University Greater Noida on November 15, 2016 our very own Rotaractors in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Delhi Southend & Rotary Blood Bank organized a Blood Donation Camp. One could witness a great deal of enthusiasm amongst the college students and 128 units of blood stood collected during the day. The event was well attended and some pictures reflecting the mood at the event are appended herein for your kind perusal. We would like to thank our Rotaractors for taking this noble initiative year after year and making the annual blood donation camp a roaring success.

What is spiritual maturity?Spiritual Maturity is

when you stop trying to change others, ...instead focus on changing yourself.

Spiritual Maturity is when you accept people as they are.

Spiritual Maturity is when you understand everyone is right in their own perspective.

Spiritual Maturity is when you learn to "let go".

Spiritual Maturity is when you are able to drop "expectations" from a relationship and

give for the sake of giving.

Spiritual Maturity is when you understand whatever you do, you do for your own peace.

Spiritual Maturity is when you stop proving to the world, how intelligent you are.

Spiritual Maturity is when you don't seek approval from others.

Spiritual Maturity is when you stop comparing with others.

Spiritual Maturity is when you are at peace with yourself.

Spiritual Maturity is when you are able to differentiate between "need" and "want"

and are able to let go of your wants.

& last but most meaningful !

You gain Spiritual Maturity when you stop attaching "happiness" to material things !!
