On behalf of the As socia tion, I want to thank Carmella Strano of Moss Rehabil- itation Hospital and her Committee, Janice Gersley, a ffili ated with J.F. Kennedy Hospital , Suzanne Green, with Magee Rehabilitation Hospital and Sally Ordione of Bryn Mawr Rehabilitation Hospital for the i r efforts in making this event so successful. The purpose of our Association is to help those in the field looking for answers, so if we can be of help to you in any way, ple ase write or call. If we are going to be a strong ef f ect ive organization, we need your help. I would encourage each of you to volunteer to serve on a commi ttee . Committee participation helps us in our selection of the Executi ve Board and selection of nominees for officers. We are working to extend the service and influence of our Associ at ion on the profession. We need and welcome you to help us with these tasks. JOB FILE Comprehensive university rehabilitation center with research funds exceeding 1.5 million dollars per year seeks applicants for the following positions:

1. OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

Minimum requirements are (1) Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program (2) Registra­tion as an Occupational Therapist (3) Experience in assessment and preparing device prescriptions. Experience in assessment, education and training of the dis abled to drj.ve is preferred. Occupational Therapist will perform driver assessments , education, and training in na tionally funded Reh~bilitation Engineering Center for Personal Licensed Vehicles and participate in other assessment services of the Center for Rehabilitati on Science , Engineering and Training. Sal ary will be based upon education and experience.

2. DRIVING/MOBILITY SPECIALIST

Minimum requirements are (1) Bachelor ' s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program (2) Registra­tion as an Occupational Therapist (3) Experience in assessment and preparing device prescriptions. Experience in assessment, education and training of the disabled to drive is preferred. Driving/ Mobility Specialist will perform driver assessments, education, and training in nationally funded Rehabilitation Engineering

NOTEWORTHY! The driver evaluation program at Phoenix Baptist Hospital is off the ground and running. The program headed by CYNTHIA CLAUS recently acquired a van equipped with reduced effort steering and brakes. The vehicle was purchased through a donat ion from The Foundation for Baptist Health Systems. And they are involved in a joint venture research project with Arizona State University exploring the relationship between visual scanning and processing skills in the driving task. Sounds as if you're very busy Cynthia.

WP~REN SMITH, Coordinator of VA Driver Ed program in Alexandria, VA and David Simlow, Driver Education Specialist at the VA Medical Center in Hines, IL were presentors at the International Conference on Rural Rehabilitation Technologies. The conference was held on October 23-25, 1984 at the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks.
