Anyone who studiesimpartially the life ofBrahma Baba will

reach the conclusion that hisspiritual efforts led him to manynew discoveries –discoveries ofnew continents of thought whichwere no less important than thediscovery of America byColumbus or India by Vasco-de-Gama. Baba’s voyages intomeditation and his sojourn inspiritual thought have given toman –the knowledge of many new islands of truth. If we askthe question whether a man who has chosen to dedicate hislife to the pursuit of knowledge and to ideas ever made animpact on the minds of the men in general, Baba’s life wouldprovide the answer that ideas do travel from the meditationhall of a Rajyogi over the wide world around.

Eighteenth January brings with it the sweet memories ofBrahma Baba who, on this day, in the year 1969, left his mortalcoil and took the angelic form to work, side by side with ShivBaba, for the spiritual rejuvenation of mankind without anyphysical and worldly bondage.

The year 1936-37 had proved a turning point in the life ofBaba. Until then, he had been doing diamond and jewel businessin Kolkata, Bombay and Karachi and had also been worshippingShri Narayan, studying the Gita and attending religiouscongregations. But in the year 1936, when he was a little lessthan sixty years, he became more introverted, more withdrawnand more detached and practised spiritual contemplation moredevotedly.

DIVINE VISIONS AND ‘SURRENDER’During this period, he had a number of divine visions. One

of these was about the forthcoming destruction of the present

4 The World Renewal, January 2015

Over the last couple ofmonths, we have beencelebrating the birth

anniversaries of great souls:Religious Founders like Christ,Prophet Mohammed, GuruNanak and other Gurus. As weenter the month of January, weare reminded of a very differentand unique personality. The roleof Prajapita Brahma, in his ownwords, is totally different. His isa success story of being adiamond merchant who hadbusiness connections with thethen rulers of different states inIndia and Nepal. He has alsobeen instrumental in designingand preparing a diamondnecklace for Queen Elizabeth I,for her visit to India. His searchfor the beauty of inner silencewas becoming more and moreintense as was evident from hiskeen interest in going intoseclusion. This is very muchsimilar to the great scientists, mathematicians and inventorswho were responsible for path-breaking inventions in theirfields.

Brahma Baba hadaccumulated all knowledge andexperience of the path of

bhakti, which he pursued untilthe age of around 60, byadopting different Gurus andserving them in all possibleways, especially in providingmaterial help for their worldlyrequirements or upkeep of theirmonasteries or Matts. ‘Truth isOne’ and ‘God is Truth’ inspiritual parlours and this wasBrahma Baba’s prime focus allthe time. As we learn, it wasfrom Maha Shivratri 1936 whenIncorporeal Supreme Soul, GodShiva, revealed Himself toquench the thirst of His ardentdevotee, and transform the soulinto an enlightened (gyani) soul. Some of the initial revelationsthat came forth were“Nijanand SwaroopamShivohum, Shivohum,Prakasham SwaroopamShivohum, Shivohum…” thatwere heard and realized byBrahma Baba (then known asDada Lekhraj/Lakhiraj) on thepremises of Babulnath TempleComplex, Chowpatti Mumbai.

His 12th and last Guru washimself a very highly dignified, spiritual person who did notaccept any credit for the tranceexperiences or messages that

Dada Lekhraj received. Thishelped Dada to change his focusfrom being a very honestdevotee of God, the Supreme, and his Gurus, and start exploringthe depths of the truth about Self,God, and His creation: theworld. Though he started hisnew journey by chanting theword “Om” in differentrhythms, he finally reached hisgoal through silence. It wasthrough observing deep silencethat he was able to reinventhimself in his original state ofbeing, that of being an entity oflight and spiritual might. Hisexperiences made himunderstand that theserealizations had not come byfavour of his worldly Guru butdirectly from the SupremeSatguru. He, therefore, startedfocusing on the inter-personalrelationship with the SupremeParent by turning a new chapterin his life by becoming God-

loving instead of being God-fearing. More the revelationscoming directly from the Divine, more the depth of Baba’ssharings, then known as Murlis, which were shared with somemembers of the SindhiCommunity: women, men andchildren. The voice of “Om”when chanted in unison createda very powerful spiritualenvironment in which manyparticipants started havingtrance experiences of ‘ShriKrishna’, Gopes, Gopis andseeing themselves with ShriKrishna in Paradise/ GoldenAge/Satyug. Though theserevelations were very loving, sweet and enchanting, Baba’sfocus was more on ‘becoming’such worthy souls to enjoy suchdivine lives, and this focus didnot shift even the slightest. Aftera year or so, on 1 January 1937,Brahma Baba signed his Will toform a Trust of 8 Women whocame to be known as theFounding Trustees of PrajapitaBrahma Kumaris IshwariyaVishwa Vidyalaya. BrahmaBaba’s dedication and surrenderonto God for the task of worldtransformation was very clearlyunderstood, realized, acceptedand then implemented with totallove and no trace of fear overany difficulties or resistancefrom society.

The establishment of PrajapitaBrahma Kumaris Ishwariya

Vishwa Vidyalaya wasrevolutionary in its concept andway of working. Brahma Babaled by example and showed howto live as an ascetic by remainingfully immersed in the depths ofGod’s love, virtues and powers, and inspiring everyone around tofollow his great example. 14 longyears of contemplation, introspection and self-empowerment were enough for380 inmates (women, childrenand men) of all ages to help createthe foundation for the futuredivine society of peace andhappiness. Brahma Baba’s visionand principles were highlyappreciated by those who choseto live by those tenets. Hisemphasis on deep meditationsessions every morning andevening, learning the depths ofspiritual wisdom and appreciatingthe beauty of the same byinculcating these in practical lifeautomatically transformed thepractitioners into virtuous, sincerebeings. Brahma Baba believedhe was following the dictates ofthe Supreme Being in recreatinga new world of happy, healthydivine beings. Those whopractice Godly knowledge andSahej Rajyoga unleash thepower of inner silence for Self-Transformation and World-Transformation by spreadingthose vibrations with one’s pureintellect in meditation. Baba’sown clarity of thought and

concern for the purification of thefive elements inspired him tocontinually enhance and multiplythe power of silence by remaininglost in the love of the SupremeBeing.

During his lifetime, until 1969,those who had the fortune ofbeing in Baba’s company inMount Abu, Mumbai, Delhi,Kanpur or elsewhereappreciated how easy it was tobe in natural soul-consciousnessand to remain lost in the love ofOne Divine, without needing tomake any effort of conductingrituals or chanting etc. Hisexample of intentionallypracticing deep, positive silencefor at least 8 hours a day wasthe criteria for any individual toreach a spiritual stage totallyfree from past karmic accounts, and further empower the soul toenjoy natural purity, peace andhappiness for at least 21lifetimes of Satyug andTretayug. The month of Januaryis a reminder for all of us tofollow the footsteps of ourbeloved Brahma Baba, conquerour weaknesses (Maya) of themind, explore the depths ofsilence and enjoy the beautifulcompanionship of God.

I personally have taken greatsustenance from Brahma Babaand would like to share somesalient jewels of inspirationsadopted from his life:

Whenever Baba used to meet

us spiritual children, he wouldalways express that we neededto come with the consciousnessof meeting the Almighty Father,Shiv Baba, whilst connectingwith him physically andaffectionately.

As the embodiment of truth,he expected every child to be100% honest and truthful aboutone’s actions based on purity.Brahma Baba placed infinitevalue on purity that even theleaders of Sindhi communitycould not convince him to

change his attitude and teachingsof adopting purity in thought, word and action.

Baba’s emphasis onAmritvela Meditation andMorning Murli (elevatedversions) were the Master Keysto a successful SpiritualLifestyle.

For the beginners or evenexperienced students, noting ofdaily diary/chart was alwaysappreciated as a means forintense spiritual progress.

Baba showed great love and

care towards BK sisters andbrothers who were sufferingfrom physical ailments.Whenever possible, he wouldmake it a point to visit them andbestow so much comfortthrough spiritual love andpowerful drishti.

Baba valued each one’s lifehighly as being most valuableduring the Confluence Age,Sangam Yug, and thereforeadvised youngsters not to insiston buying/riding motor-bikes…

This year, J Watumull GlobalHospital and Research Centre(henceforth, Global Hospital) willproudly celebrate 24 years ofselfless service to society. Sinceits origins in 1991, the hospital hasadopted the values of theBrahma Kumaris IshwariyaVishawa Vidhyalaya, the socio-spiritual organisation that playeda major role in its creation.Notwithstanding the rising costof healthcare and challenges inprovisioning health services forthe poor, Global Hospital hasunflinchingly stuck to its not-for-profit service agenda.

When Brahma Baba (LekhrajKirpalani) founded the BrahmaKumaris, unlike most gurus, hedid not preach. Instead, hebecame a role model for others.Having surrendered his wealthand resources to the cause ofworld renewal, he embraced asfamily everyone who shared hisvision of a new world. All werenurtured and sustained. Thisutterly selfless act of caring andsharing inspired many souls tofollow his path.

Caring and sharing is writtenin the fabric of Global Hospital.Good health for all is thehospital’s driving mission. It isbrought into action by providingfree consultation to everypatient and free or nominallypriced hospital treatment to lessaffording patients. No patient isever too poor to be treated atGlobal Hospital. The hospitaltreats without discriminating on

the basis of age, gender, caste, creed and of course, economicstanding.

Global Hospital also runsextensive community outreachprogrammes to serve people indistrict Sirohi and the adjacentdistricts in Rajasthan andGujarat. Surgeons annuallyperform hundreds of surgeriesto correct cleft lips and palates, and restore a sense of dignityand self worth to children withsuch deformities. Ophthalmicsurgeons operate on thousandsof persons standing on the brinkof losing their sight. Residentsof 90 villages are provided withhealth services at their doorstep.Tuberculosis sufferers arestrengthened with nutritionalsupplements to make a fullrecovery. Children of 21 villageschools are nurtured withnutritious mid-day snacks.

We see 7 billion acts ofgoodness, an initiative of theBrahma Kumaris, as anopportunity to reaffirm ourcommitment to caring andsharing–the biggest goodness.Online dictionaries define caringas feeling: exhibiting concernand empathy for others. Sharingis a basic component of humaninteraction; it strengthens socialties and ensures an individual’swellbeing.

Support from friends allowsGlobal Hospital to continue todispense goodness in small andbig doses to the sick and infirm. Our founding patron Dadi

Prakashmani was anembodiment of this virtue. Herloving care held us together asone unlimited family. Her vibestouched first time visitors andpatients alike. Our patron DadiJanki showers blessings onevery one. Despite poor healthshe meets large gatherings andshares her experiences.

Caring and sharing isuniversal. It starts at the level ofan individual: a parent nurtures achild, a teacher impartsknowledge, a doctor or nursetreats a patient, a leader–the likesof Mahatma Gandhi and NelsonMandela–dedicates his life forpeople, a social worker likeMother Teresa serves selflessly,a philanthropist like Bill Gatesand Warren Buffet shares histime and wealth.

On a personal level, you canalways find something to offer:a smile, an ear, advice, prayers,or something more. Remembera friend’s birthday. Makeyourself available in someone’stime of crisis. Lend a shoulderto someone in need. Make caringand sharing your strength. Thosewho give promptly, give twice!

To bestow a gift is to enterpeople’s hearts. It needn’t bematerial. Subtle gifts of love andkindness are welcome too. It’sall for good and in turn it bringsthe feel good factor in your life. It’s a great stress buster too.

We’re one family. Caring andsharing is the best way toconnect.

I remember one particularstory about Brahma Babaregarding the aspect of

‘incorporeal, egoless and

vice-less’. Baba said in his lastmoments ‘one who defames meis my best friend’. Now, oneneeds to ask oneself, “Have Ipassed in this aspect? Whensomeone defames me, is a littledark spot revealed on my face”?

Baba would sit and keeptelling me very good things. InBaba’s room, there is so muchattraction. Now when I go there,I remember how he used tomake me sit next to him andwould give me leave. On oneoccasion, Baba was speaking tome from the gaddi and DidiManmohini came to enquire asthere was a huge queue outside.

He said he was telling the storyof becoming ‘true Narayan’ (asper Godly Knowledge, BrahmaBaba will be the first emperor –Shri Narayan in the GoldenAge). There is one concern andthat is to become Narayan. Thethings of truth are such that wecan become Narayan throughthem. The story of True Narayanis so wonderful.

The sisters who serve me sowell have knowledge and also alot of love. Those who have theresolves of living with spiritualitycan draw love. To stay inspirituality... what does thismean? It means not to have theslightest trace of body-consciousness.

What is the differencebetween ‘jewel ofcontentment’ and ‘mother ofcontentment’? First, one needsto remain content and make allefforts so that one’scontentment is spontaneous andconstant. But being ‘mother ofcontentment’ implies being ableto help others becomecontented. When someone is notcontented himself, how can heor she help anyone to becomeso? If I am contented I can hope

to spread contentment whereverI go and to whomsoever I meet.

During the OpeningCeremony at Leicester, UK, itwas asked: ‘What isharmony’? Someoneanswered: ‘If I am contentinside; this leads to harmony’.Such a soul has a big heart. Noneed to think twice – should Ido or not, is there any benefit ornot. When I hear aboutHarmony House, the newbuilding in Leicester; Iremember the divine familythere, and realise that it is theirharmony that has brought aboutthis building. They lived simplyand remained simple, eatingsimple and remaining in thatsmall place, putting everythinginto Baba’s box.

The meaning of harmony isto accept defeat and thenconflict finishes. Never say,‘This is not right; I’m right’. Noone should complain that thisperson is not going to acceptwhatever others say.

Accepting Defeat EndsConflicts

There are three powers fromthe Almighty Authority, whichenable me to remain accurate. They are the power of tolerance, the power to merge and thepower to accommodate. If Ididn’t have tolerance I wouldn’tbe here, with so many hospitaltrips etc... It is still a wonder.

We sisters used to sitwith Baba just likelittle children and

used to chitchat with him. Wewere always aware that wewere with God, so wherever wewent, we used to go hand-in-hand with Baba, wherever wesat we would sit with Baba andwould continue to talk, look andmove with Baba because weupheld elevated feelings forBaba.

GOD’S ACTIVITY INBABA

We always had the feeling ofbeing with God all the time. When Baba sat in his chamberafter class, we would all sit infront of him. Whenever Babaspoke in an amusing manner, wewondered how God entertainedHis children. We had theawareness that Shiv Baba wastalking to us through BrahmaBaba. And afterwards we woulddiscuss and find Godly meaningto every word uttered and actionthat Baba performed. We alsoused to try to pick up the secretsin His words and actions. Ourattention was always on Baba’sface, his drishti and his words. Our faith in Shiv Baba wasstrengthened all the more that

He was using Brahma Baba asa medium to convey Hismessage to us mortals. Peoplethose days doubted such thingsand would ask us to show thatGod incarnates in a human body, but we had no such doubts orquestions. Baba’s drishti was sosweet and elevating that therewas no margin for any questionsor doubts.

Baba used to remember hisforeigner children and used tosay: ‘Foreigner children willgreatly appreciate thisknowledge. One day, they willcome here to claim theirbirthright from the Father’. Webelieved what Baba said woulddefinitely come to pass some day.We thought they would comehere to take the knowledge andthat everyone has to come toGod and so would the double-foreigners.

DO RIGHT NOW ORREPENT

Baba wanted us to completethe tasks without any delay;otherwise he would treat us asa failure. Whatever Baba saidin the murli, whether for serviceor for knowledge, we had to doit immediately. Baba would askat the next given opportunity

whether we had accomplishedthe task or not. Baba often usedto ask a child to tell the classwhat they had done so as toencourage and fill us all with zealand enthusiasm. Baba wouldpraise that child, saying, “Youhave obeyed Baba’s order; youare an obedient child.” Babaadopted various ways andmeans to inspire us. Baba wouldnever ask the children straightif they had made any mistake,or accuse them of any lapse.Instead, Baba used to call thosechildren with great love, talk tothem, point out their specialtyand later Baba would cautionthem not to make the mistakeagain. He had the discernmentto see if a child was body-conscious, and would not pointit out. Baba used to give thecorrection in the general class. It was another of Baba’sspecialties that he could read themind of each child, theircapacity, their strength, andwould encourage them to moveforward accordingly. Babawould administer correctionsaccording to their capacity.

As the train reached nearMadhuban, i.e., AbuRoad, there was a

sense of energy and excitementand the mind was filled withseries of questions. Aha…“There will be communion withGod, what will be the feeling? What type of personalityBrahma Baba is? Shall we beable to see Shiv Baba cominginto him? What divine glow shallwe see on Brahma Baba’s face? How will God speak to us?’ Suchkind of questions made me feelthe divine joy.

Finally, we reached the divine

complex of Madhuban, calledthe Pandav Bhawan where theincarnation of the IncorporealSupreme Soul, God Shiva usedto take place in PrajapitaBrahma’s body. Those days, there were no buses from Abu

Road to Madhuban. Onreaching there, wesaw Brahma Baba seatedon a jute-string cot. He wassitting in the Padamasana andsaid, “Come on child, come on.”CAPTIVATING CHARM

What a divine personality didBrahma Baba have! The eyesgot glued to the face and mind’sthirst remained insatiate. Ofcourse God can never be wrongin His choice of the ‘chariot’. Sothis was the Soul of the Krishnawhom people had oftenconfused with God. His divinity, purity, spiritual radiance, gentleness and simplicity madehim look so dignified and Godlyin stature.

HIS MEDITATIVEPOSTURE

I remained with Baba forseven days in a room just in frontof him in the Hawai Mahal. Icould see him sitting in ameditative posture on the coteven in the mosquito net andagain in the morning when wewoke up. His posture was soeasy and comfortable that oneseemed to go in trance in no

PERSONALITY– B.K. Surya, Gyan Sarovar (Mt. Abu)

An Experience

(Since childhood, B.K. Bro. Surya was inspired by ancient saints

and seers. He had love with none except with studies and the

propensities of renunciation. At the tender age of just 12, he decided

to remain a bachelor forever and to surrender himself to God. In

1964, he got enlightenment from a small booklet on Rajyoga. As

soon as he started meditating according to the techniques given in

the book, he realized spiritual power and experienced that it would

be easier to attain complete celibacy/purity through Rajyoga. He

has been offering Godly services in the Brahma Kumaris’

headquarters (Mount Abu) for the last 46 years as a surrendered

inmate. He remains ever busy in the service of millions of souls.

Following are a few divine experiences from his first meeting with

God Shiva’s corporeal chariot – Brahma Baba in his own words –

time. However this was his mostfavourite posture.

GODLY VIBRATIONSListening to and reading of

the Godly versions, i.e. Flute ofKnowledge or Gyan Murlicharmed me. We would reachHistory Hall at 5.30 a.m. andwould sit for meditation. Babaused to enter the Hall at 6.10a.m. His punctuality wasexemplary as he was never latefor his class. His very presencewould spread the Godlyvibrations all around and one felta divine atmosphere in the hall. The divine rays of light and mightwould touch every spec andcorner of the place.

I often saw Brahma Babaduring his morning walks. But hispersonality underwent acomplete change when we sawhim during the Murli class.Coming from an Arya Samajfamily, I should not havebelieved what I saw. But howcould one negate one’s directexperience? I feel being the mostfortunate to experience God’sincarnation in Brahma Baba andrealized the difference betweenboth the personalities. I wasconvinced that it was GodHimself who spoke before usand gave His instructions andblessings through the Murli. Allarguments to the contrary werefutile.

One very beautiful scene of

Baba’s humility left a deepimprint on my heart and soul. Wewere standing outside Baba’sroom when Baba in banyan andknickers, holding a pot of waterin his hand came there. It wasevening time. Seeing us, Babastopped, conversed with us andgave a lot of love. I stoodspellbound – as if in a trance.‘Oho… how egoless, loving heis! And how full of ego we are, showing ego and pride and evenanger at the drop of a hat? Howgreat he might be, renouncingeverything of material world, wealth, money, property, yetbeing so humble, so cordial! Itseems almost impossible in ahuman being.INTOXICATION OF THE

FUTUREThe super-sensuous and

blissful joy of that visit left anindelible impression on my mindand would often recall thosedays. It was the year 1968 andone felt as if Baba was justperfect or near perfect. The lifejourney had nothing more tooffer to him. He would often talkof the glorious future waiting forus all, and how we needed tomake sufficient preparation. Ialso had the opportunity ofmeeting Baba alone when hesought my completeintroduction. I expressed mydesire to surrender myselfcompletely towards Godly

service. Baba gave me apowerful spiritual gaze (Drishti)and I felt as if I had just floatedout of the body and was incommunion with the Divine.Perhaps that moment was themost precious time of my wholelife – transfixed and gone muchhigher above this world ofworries and care.

When we were taking leavefrom Baba, he hugged each oneof us, fed us with almondsand Mishri and bade us adieuby waving handkerchief andsaid, “Child, go soon, comesoon.”, i.e. bidding us to comeagain soon. Even though I hadleft Madhuban, my soul hadremained there as every singlescene and experience hadbecome a part of my existenceand was hard to forget. MyMind told me every minute,“God has come to Abu and whatare you doing here away fromHim?” I started writing lettersto Baba every week from Delhitill the yearning of my soulreached him and he called meand asked me to surrender.

BABA’S MAGNETISMWhenever Baba went to the

mountain with children he wouldask, “Who are you going with?Whom do you see before you?Do you feel intoxicated?” Suchwords from Baba and his bodylanguage would fill each one ofus with bliss unheard of so far.

Page 12: From the mighty pen of Sanjay CONTENTS ADI DEV BRAHMA

The beggary part of the BrahmaKumaris was a cause for worry toeveryone since it seemed pitiable tothem. Everyone felt embarrassed andhapless, but there was not a single lineof worry on Baba’s face. He had astrong and unshakable faith in ShivBaba and believed that Father cannotallow His children to suffer. It is nothingelse but training for all of us, this is whathe felt. No doubt some children hadleft during that time but Baba’spatience and faith could not be shaken.Naturally the times of difficulty passedand the sunshine came again.

When Baba used to have picnic withchildren or play with them; he wouldsay, “Child, don’t forget Shiv Babawhile enjoying the game; otherwiseBaba would say that you children havebeen engrossed in recreation so muchthat you have forgotten the SupremeFather.” Being a true Karma Yogi,Baba would stay focused in theremembrance of Shiv Baba.

18TH JANUARY 1969On the last day, Baba had pain in his

chest since morning. DadiPrakashmani asked him, “Baba, shouldwe call up the doctor?” Baba just said,“Child, Baba is talking to the SupremeSurgeon; what will a doctor do?” Evenin that state, he remained connectedwith the Supreme in a state of elevatedremembrance. He left his mortal coilpeacefully with his hands in Dadiji’shands.

What a great example of divine love, faith and practice in human existence!Words fail to describe the scene andthe experience of that memorable day.

Pita Shri Brahma Baba wasa unique soul. He led anextra-ordinary and

exemplary life of good conductand behaviour of greatfaithfulness and loyalty towardsthe One and became thecorporeal medium of theIncorporeal God Shiva. DadaLekhraj, as he was earlier called, underwent a wonderfultransformation in his life at theage of 60 when he had a seriesof divine visions which inspiredhim to create a spiritualworkforce that later grew to bethe Brahma Kumaris. At thetime of extreme downfall in thestate of souls, world and nature, when people had almostforgotten their true identity aswell as that of God and hadbecome miserable, Goddescended on this earth andstarted bestowing Godlyknowledge through BrahmaBaba’s lotus lips and renamedhim as Prajapita Brahma.Brahma Baba under thedirections of Incorporeal GodShiva established Om Mandli in1937. He gave divine sustenanceto about 350 people whosurrendered themselves for

and other mothers and sisters and, thus, encouraged them in Godlyservice which paved their way forspiritual progress.

In the modern colourful world ofvices and evils where spiritualityseems to have become the lastconcern of human life, Babagenerously took care of physical andspiritual needs of more than 300 men, women and children and made themcapable of performing world serviceand helped them to become anembodiment of power. It is throughBrahma Baba’s loving sustenance thattoday in many big places, despite livingalone in some cases, B.K. sisters havebeen performing the great task ofspiritual service and liberating thesociety from the strong and evilclutches of vices. Such was thespiritual personality of Brahma Baba.

THE FEELINGS OF WORLDBENEDICTION

Brahma Baba had spiritual lovetowards each and every soul of theworld. He didn’t think of thebetterment of India alone but it wasfor the whole human race. He wouldoften say, “In near future, childrenfrom Bharat as well as abroad willcome to receive the inheritance offruition from God. We need to makesufficient preparation for that.”

Brahma Baba’s entire life was anexample of great austerity. He hadattained his karmateet (perfect) stageand left behind a life story thatcontinues to inspire hundreds ofthousands of people around the world.

Thinking about God, myriad of glorious descriptionsflood in mindThe words “guidance and direction” reverberatepowerfully so kindBeing with Him ensures every step guided anddirected righteouslyIndeed, remembering Him is like enjoying a danceheartily A unique dance for God is the partnerDancing with Him is to trust, surrenderRhythm is silent movements of a mind – profoundand stillA mind revelling in quietude and deep tranquil The music of this marvellous dance is pure thoughtsAnd so beautiful ones and the supremely elevatedWhen remembrance becomes natural as breathing,Wholeness is felt, the divine becoming one’s being.

The dance may also give jerks sometime, The rhythm is unstable; there are qualms of the heatsThe music is full of countless sounds with alteredbeatsThe mind engrossed with the physical; attention withfullnessOne becomes deprived of God’s lightness andwholeness.

I was born and brought up inBareilly (Uttar Pradesh). Weare four sisters and no

brother, out of which, I‘m thethird one. Amongst all, I wasthe most naughty due to which Iwas scolded every now and thenby my Parents. Still I was theApple of my grand mamma’seyes; she loved and pamperedme a lot.

Since childhood, I have beentoo inquisitive, why’s and how’shave always entangled me. Inever believed in idol worshipsince it didn’t make any senseto me, avoiding hair wash onThursdays, resisting nonvegetarian on Mondays whileeating on other days etcetc……….i need a logicalexplanation behind everything ,due to which “question mark”was my nick name in college.

My parents fulfilled all myneeds and wants but there wassomething “UNKNOWN” I hadbeen searching for…there wasemptiness inside. I felt lonelyeven after being with others.Nothing made me happyinternally……..my Father usedto ask “what’s wrong? Whyaren’t you happy? I never seehappiness reaching your

eyes…”- to which I had noexplanations…But yes, I didbelieve in” some positivepower” surrounding me.

I enjoy reading positive andinspiring books followed byexperimentation. Beingentrapped with lot of negativityaround, those books helped meovercoming negative influencesand have made me a better andconfident person over a periodof time. I read, experiment andthen believe.

HOW I GOT BABA’SINTRODUCTION

My Father wanted to see meas a doctor but not beingselected in medicalexaminations, I had to choosepharmacy (paramedical course).I did my bachelors in pharmacyfrom Jaipur and then startedpreparing for MBA.

I went to Lucknow formanagement coaching and thereI met a cousin brother of mine, who has been following theBrahmakumaris for the last sixyears. He is a homeopathicdoctor and we met for the firsttime, but I felt as if we knoweach other since long. Whileconversing, I saw BrahmaBaba’s photo in his room,

inquired about Baba and askedmany questions and that’swhere, he influenced me to doSeven-Day course.

Out of curiosity I did thatcourse but was not convinced tocontinue any further. Thereafter,I had many dreams ofdestruction but I ignoredeverything and moved on. Aftertaking CAT examinations, I gotselected in International instituteof Health Management andResearch (IIHMR) for MBA ina hospital in Delhi.

I came to Delhi with a numberof dreams but after coming toDelhi, life started getting worsegradually. My health starteddeteriorating due to severevitamin D deficiency while onthe other hand my professionallife was also suffering due to theconflicts in my personal life; Iused to curse everyday ofmine…. life was hell…..I wasgetting hopeless and mypersonal and professional lifewas on the verge ofdestruction...BUT then I cameto know about theBrahmakumaris centre near myhostel and I went there. I feltvery peaceful so I did thatcourse once again and aftersometime told about all theproblems to the BK sister towhich she replied “I understoodwhat you want”. I learnt aboutthe magic of RAJYOG whichcan cure relationships, heal

health and can also provide stress-free life.CHANGES I EXPERIENCED

Just after 10 days, everything startedchanging; my relationships and health startedhealing. I became more stable and energetic;now I have started feeling that that I willget that “something” I’ve been searchingfor since childhood….Baba will fill thatemptiness with his pure Love. Although I hadmany experiences but here I want to shareone of the powerful one in the process oflearning.

About two months back, Yamini Didi laid aspecial emphasis on home-cooked food andthat too without onion and garlic since vibrationsaffect our state of mind. Not being convinced,I ignored her words and then, one day I camefrom college and felt like weeping without anyreason. I was having suicidal thoughts andsuddenly got a call from Didi. She invited mefor dinner, and I went to her home. As wewere chitchatting I told what I had beenfeeling; she smiled and gave me a glass ofwater followed by parathas. And thensomething miraculous happened, within 20minutes…..i started feeling light, positive andhappy. Everything seemed to be alright….I feltlike “BEING CHARGED FROMDISCHARGED MODE”

On that day, I realized how food affectsmood and how vibrations play a crucial rolein life. Vibrations are so powerful that theycan transform the whole world therefore it isthe backbone of CHANGE.

I am learning a lot through experimentationand my personal experiences and this journeyon Sangam yug will continue till I becomecomplete like “MY BABA”…….OMSHANTI

SPIRITUAL ROSES OF THESUPREME GARDENER

The main features of physical flowers are theircolour, form and fragrance, by which we judge theirbeauty. All these characteristics have their ownunique importance. Introducing oneself to spiritualityis like giving oneself into the hands of the SupremeSpiritual Gardener or the Supreme Being (God).Like a physical gardener who possesses qualitiesof patience, tirelessness, love, far-sightedness,faith etc. on a limited level, the Supreme Gardenerpossesses these qualities on an unlimited level, which He uses to bring us up. As we remain underHis sustenance and care, over a period of time, weblossom and are transformed into beautiful spiritualflowers, and our thorns fall away. When we look atourselves as spiritual flowers, our coloursymbolizes spiritual knowledge. Depending on howwe imbibe the wisdom shared by the SpiritualGardener and bring it in our day-to-day functioning;in our thoughts, words, actions and relationships;the more beautiful a colour we take. Our form isshaped depending on the quality of our connectionwith the Supreme Being, the Gardener. The deeperand stronger the connection, the more beautiful isthe form. Lastly, our fragrance refers to divinequalities like sweetness, humility, tolerance, qualityof being carefree, purity and so on. Physical flowerswith a good colour, form and fragrance, attracteveryone around them. Seeing and coming closeto them, gives one an experience of joy. The sameholds true for spiritual flowers.Roses are considered the king of all flowers, withthe best possible colour, form and fragrance.Spiritual roses are those souls who continuouslyremain in a spiritual consciousness and spread thefragrance of that consciousness to others. Theirthoughts, words and actions get shaped accordingto this consciousness. They have a deeprelationship with the Spiritual Gardener and arealways eager to ensure that others also experiencethat relationship and become spiritual roses, whichare a deep wish of the Supreme Gardener, for everyspiritual being. They help him in fulfilling that wish.

You can walk to get thebus or train or to yourcar. You can walk

upstairs, to the park or to a bankor to a shop. Yet you will not findanyone following God and Hisson’s footsteps andexample. God’s right hand isnow invisible to the world andso are His footprints that Heplaced upon this world with loveand dedication but He did leavebehind His example for us tofollow–Brahma Baba.

Brahma Baba’s shoes of loveand dedication paved a methodand cleared a path to perfectionfor all to follow. Many will notbe able to see or understand hisdivine shoes and the path willalso remain invisible to them. They will have to carry onstumbling here and there inman’s world or walk around incircles being tired and unhappy.Only this Godly path has theability and wisdom to untanglepeople’s minds and make themhealthy and happy once again.Brahma Baba’s shoes showedthe path towards Land of

Perfection and its reality.GOD’S ROSARY OF

DIVINE SOULSIt was not easy climbing a

mountain of newness when thewhole world stood opposing himas they themselves were fallingdown in a bottomless pit ofsorrow. Many threw stones atthis man of divinity yet hewalked and climbed quickly upthe Godly Mountain of efforttowards his perfect image in thecompany of God who wasalways one step behind himpushing him up the mountainwhilst whisperingencouragement.

Brahma Baba renouncedeverything worldly and woresimple white clothesexemplifying simplicity andhumility. Yet the world couldunderstand nothing from thisdivine man and his efforts oflove. If only they could havestopped their relentless pursuitof greed or put down theirmaterialism and opened theireyes and looked at thisspectacular feat of dedicationand faith! But what else do youexpect from this world whichonly understands the language ofmoney, wars and guns, knowshow to create borders of barbedfences whether it is betweentwo countries or between twoneighbours.

FOR ONE ANOTHERBoth Shiv Baba and Brahma

Baba are so light on their feetand so close to each other thatif you could see them, youwould not be able to tell who iswho: they are like invisibleidentical twins. They think alikeand go to the same places at thesame time, have the samePrajapita Brahma

feelings and do the same thingswhen they get there. It isimpossible to tell them apart, such is their closeness of love, thoughts and desires for eachother: he desires to be with Him,and He desires him to becomeperfect and go to heaven.

YESTERDAY, TODAYAND TOMORROW

Brahma Baba left a blazingtrail behind him that is still easyto see and follow today. It mightbe many years on since BrahmaBaba first set foot on that pathhimself, yet even from adistance, that path can be seentoday clearly lit up by his divinefootsteps when he beganwalking that path about 77 yearsago. This path was special forhim as it always moved himforward closer to his goal ofperfection, heaven and God. Incontrast, man’s path takes themround in circles or backwards orcloser to degradation each day.

The path that he created is litbrightly if you care to look for itand if you examine it closely andalso walk on it, you will find itcan also make you light and setyou on fire with love, purposeand contentment. Without thesethree aspects in our lives, ourlives are dull, almostmeaningless, like that of a cat, which lives only to eat and sleepand chase after things.

THE PERFECT ROADWhere did this Godly path

lead Brahma Baba? This path,

which is as wide as God’s mindand heart combined, ultimatelyled him to liberation as he wasworthy to be able to walknext to God along this path. Itis no small thing to have God asyour constant companion.Brahma Baba was the first oneto walk this path but there shallbe many more similar like-minded students of God thatshall follow him and his exampleas they walk along the path. These students will also enjoy aliberated life and future worldwith him who by then will havebeen reborn as the Prince ofheaven, Krishna.

Where do most paths leadtoday? To your front door? Towork? The pub? To the shops?Credit card machine? To thegym? Who can walk this Godlypath each day with the samelove and dedication that BrahmaBaba did? Anyone can tread thissame path that Brahma Babawalked. This Godly path is opento all of mankind regardless oftheir religion or beliefs. Hewalked the path with greatdiligence yet many on the samepath today get far different

results. Why? This path caneasily turn into the path ofnegligence, laziness andboredom, if not careful. In orderto walk God’s path, you need aroutine such as what BrahmaBaba created, and thefoundation of this routine isunconditional love. Heincorporated self-discipline, self-respect and an attitude of givingselflessly which proved to be thecore values towards achievinghis goal.HUMANITY IS WALKING

BACKWARDSMost have an attitude of

wanting to take and receive inlife which is selfish and notselfless. The result of taking thisselfish path is that they will walkround in circles or take foursteps forward in life, and thenhave to take five stepsback. The implication of mostpeople’s lifestyles is similar tosomeone trying to watch TVwhich is not plugged in to power. Most will just sit there the restof their lives just looking at ablank screen (life) as they arenot plugged in to truth and God.

The power to merge means ‘it is finished’ and the power toaccommodate means ‘don’t go into the expansion’… It isfinished; therefore, there is no need to repeat it. When werepeat, it means our intellect is dull. Repeating something aboutthe self or another’s weakness is the sign of a lack of powers.Hence, one should use these powers and be careful…

We all know that greatmen have lived theirlives with a sense of

purpose and conveyed amessage for others to follow inlife. Their endeavours inwhatever fields they chose topursue made an indelible impacton many others. As MahatmaGandhi said, ‘my life is mymessage’. Great men had tosuffer a lot and faced greathardships. In fact, anybody whocreates a new path must beprepared for criticism andhardships, for people loathechanging their ways. Be it ascientist like Galileo, or a politicaldissident like Solzhenitsyn, anyone who did upset theaccepted paradigm or beliefsystem time.

GOD DESCENDSWhen God, the Supreme,

descended on Brahma Baba andthe people who attended hisspiritual assembly startedadopting celibacy in their life andelevated food habits, the tide ofopinion started flowing againsthim. Worse still, there were

always expert talkers, theorthodox, the perverted and theprejudiced people, who forselfish purposes polluted theminds of the people and madethem, believe the most blatantlies. Brahma Baba and OmMandli was the target of severevilification campaign. When thepeople of Anti- Om Mandli sawthat their strategy to harass thewomen was not working, violentaction was the next step theyattempted. But, through all theseevents, Brahma Baba remainedfree from worry. He was everthe detached observer. He said,“We are only the servants of theFather; He will make everythingalright. Many tests will come onthis path, but we must have faithin the drama and in the self.”The anti Om Mandli group alsoresorted to picketing. Oneday, the girls went out for a walkand when they came back, theyfound people were campedoutside the building. The groupcomprised of mostly mothersand adult men. They stoodpeacefully in a single line

opposite the demonstrators. They did not attempt to go inside. Then the second group whichconsisted of young girls alsojoined the first group. They alsostood in the same line. Theylooked at the demonstrators withlove, sending them vibrations ofpeace and harmony. This newsof picketing spread in thecity. Ultimately, people of thecity began to turn against thedemonstrators and finally thedemonstrators went away fromthe premises. In order to createa peaceful atmosphere, BrahmaBaba shifted Om Mandli fromHyderabad to Karachi. Whenall strategies failed, a majorlawsuit was filed by an iratehusband of one of the inmateswho took legal action demandinghis conjugal rights. The courtproceedings were taken up butthe judge could not give theverdict against the sisters. Thosein opposition even hired a killerto kill Baba but when the killerentered Baba’s room, he wasengulfed in a golden mist. Hecould not see Brahma Baba, lostthe sense of his body and felldown. The sword dropped fromhis hand and he promised torenounce violence.

He did noteven consider fighting back. Andthe work of teaching, ofdisseminating God’s message, went on as usual. corporeal medium of God hadthe aim of imparting Godlyknowledge and RajyogaMeditation to the people of theworld. The founders of religionsand other leaders could notchange the lifestyle of the peoplefrom tamasic to the satwiclevel, whereas Brahma Babawas successful in doing so.Those leaders were successfulin changing the faith of thepeople and made them their

followers. But, the inspirationallifestyle practiced by BrahmaBaba transformed the lifestyleof the people and a new race ofpure, great and elevated humanbeings began emerging in theworld.

The Unique InspiringPersonality

When God descended on hisperson, Brahma Baba took aspiritual birth. The hallmark ofthis spiritual birth indirectly madehim an inspiring leader withpristine character, the essencebeing truth, honesty, sincerity, integrity courage, empathy, humility and authenticity. As hewas backed up with the Supremespiritual energy resource, hispassion was contagious. He hadthe ability to communicate hispassion, purpose and meaning toothers. He started inspiringothers to be like himself. He wasa born optimist. There weremany upheavals and crudeoppositions to spreadinggoodness in the world but heencouraged each and everyindividual to release their hidden

potential for perpetuating thatgoodness. He had a special traitto recognise the individualachievements, acknowledge thedistinctions and reward them.He was first in implementing thedirections of the Supreme Lordin his own life and became anembodiment of the teachings ofGod Shiva.

Brahma Baba’s life was anopen book and that was hismessage. He was seen living histruth, walking his values, behaving his philosophy. Hisinteractions were overwhelmedwith self confidence, moralascendancy and self sacrifice. He was a unique well wisherwith pure feelings for one andall, even towards those whowere inimical to him. Heprovided opportunity foreverybody to improve andgrow.

In fact, Brahma Baba is theperfect sample of perfecthuman being in the showcase ofthe Creator – God Shiva. Let usstrive to and help in the task ofworld transformation.

LOVING RELATIONSHIPSWho doesn’t appreciate loving relationships? The soul is nourished when there is mutual affection

and regard between family and friends. Love of course is built on trust but before I establish

secure relationships with others, there are two major entities I have to face every day: ‘Myself’

and ‘God.’ Am I honest with my inner conscience and my God? When the intellect is clean of

falsehood, I not only win the heart of God but of every soul in my contact.

Our society is constitutedof people followingdifferent professions

for their livelihoods andsustenance. It also consists ofvarious institutions andassociations, each one of themtrying to meet certain needs ofthe society. The aim of all ormost of these is to get engagedin a meaningful and usefulactivity and to serve the society. But if we carefully read thehistory of the world, we will findthat, in spite of good intentionsof individuals and institutions andwhatever efforts they werecapable of, the quality of life andexperiences of the people neverachieved a desired and asatisfying degree. What is thereason?

An objective analysis of theprofessions and institutions, asthey are and as their aims andfunctions are, would lead us tothe conclusion that even thoughthey have the motive of service, there is an in-built element ormechanism in all of them thatdoes not allow redemption of thesociety from the ailments andsufferings that afflict it. Wenotice that every profession,

institution or group – political, religious, social, financial, etc. –has some permanent vestedinterest. That is, perhaps, necessary for its own survivalbut it is that which lendspermanence to a particularproblem. Everyone wants toperpetuate itself rather thanwork for extermination of theproblems to which it hasaddressed itself. No doubt, allinstitutions, in their constitution, have a ‘Death Clause’, i.e. aclause, mentioning what will bedone if the institution ceases tofunction or is disbanded andwound up. It means that they allknow that anyone that is bornwill die but, in practice, everyonewants to live on, fulfilling its ownself-interest even if it meansfacing a hard competition andeven if their motives and actionsare detrimental to the interestsof others or if they are good, mixed intrinsically andinseparably with bad.

Take, for example, theprofession of doctors. They willthrive if there are more patients.More and more doctors willsurvive if there are more andmore patients. In other words,

their very survival depends uponthe spread or diversification ofdiseases and the increase in thenumber of patients even thoughtheir intention is to serve thesociety by curing the patientsand helping prolong their lives. Thus, hospitals also planexpansion of their service, increase the number ofdepartments, beds, doctors etc.anticipating that more and morepeople will fall sick or, with theincrease in population, pollutionand stress, the number ofpatients would multiply. They, aswell as the pharmaceuticals, dispensing chemists, etc. cannotand do not work for the totalelimination of disease or forestablishing an ever-healthysociety because that wouldmean the end of their ownexistence and also of theiravowed aims and objects.

Similarly, business prospers onprofit. Businessmen are, therefore, inclined or tempted toadopt such ways and means asenable them to make more andmore profit. They compete, advertise and engage labour atcheaper rates, purchase rawmaterials at the cheapestpossible rates, trying all the waysto make the maximum possibleprofit even if they have to exploitothers or be unjust, unfair, corrupt and unreasonable.

In politics, every ministerwants to retain his/her own

portfolio and powers and grabmore if possible even if, in theprocess, he/she has to deprivethose persons in power andposition who, earlier, have beenhis mentors and well-wishers.Their self-interest compels themto snatch every opportunity torise to higher position, marginalising or pushing behindall others whether it is theirfamily or friends, and all in thename of serving the people andthe society.

Likewise, the livelihood of anadvocate depends on legal caseswhich arise from violation of lawor conflict between persons, institutions, communities, etc. So,the solicitor, the advocate, theNotary Public, the OathCommissioner, the publicprosecutor and the whole

THE MEANING OF CONCENTRATIONConcentration means to stabilize in one elevated thought; the entire tree is merged in one seedthought. Increase concentration, and then all types of upheaval finish. Concentration also getsattracted towards itself. If something is fluctuating or is in upheaval, it will bring others intoupheaval too. If electricity is fluctuating, sometimes off and sometimes on, it brings people’sthoughts into fluctuation, as to what is happening. Similarly, anything that is concentrated makesothers also concentrated. On the basis of concentration, one can see things dearly, as they are. Those who constantlystabilise themselves in that stable stage can experience themselves dearly as they are; and asa result, upheaval over questions like what will happen, how will it happen, etc, will finish. Ifanything is seen dearly, no question will arise about it. Questions will finish. There will be theexperience that this is what it is. Similarly, on the basis of concentration, the form of the self andthe Father will always be dear. Questions about how to stabilise as the embodiment of soul;about whether the soul is like this or that; all such upheavals finish, and every thought becomes

dear. – Avyakt BapDada

paraphernalia caters willy-nillyto this notion. So, with the bestof intentions, the legal professioncannot root out crime.

Thus, every profession in itsdealings right from thebureaucracy, the tax authorities, the law-enforcing agencies, thepublic, etc. takes to such waysthat its own interest is servedbetter.

Unexceptionably, everyonehas a vested interest which itcan sacrifice at its own peril.Even those who think of andwork for social well-being, keepuppermost in their mind theinterests of their own group andwish and try to promote it morethan any other. This selfishnessor group-interest is anti-socialand therefore does not permit thesociety to be free from conflicts

and sufferings. So, unless and until there is,

or there are, institutions whoseaim is to work for the bettermentof the society and to educatepeople to have that vision of theworld from which sufferings andselfishness have been totallyeliminated, the conflicts willremain because the cause willremain to be. Such an institutionthat gives the vision of the worldas a great family in paradise isestablished by God only, whoalone is above selfishness.Prajapita Brahma KumarisIshwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya isHis instrument that aims atbringing an end to all conflictsby giving such a world-visionand the method to achieve it.

Bharat or India was oncethe Land of Purity, Truthand Happiness. The

erstwhile Golden Sparrow hasnow turned into a land of sorrow. However, the Supreme Soul, theSupreme Father, the Ocean ofknowledge, the Ocean of purityand peace is with us and helpingus to regain our lost paradise. Sowe must change ourselves tobuild up a better world. Todayeveryone is perturbed by thechaotic situation prevailing inevery walk of life. What is thereason for it? Certainly the replywould be loss of divinity or purity. The loss of purity makes ussusceptible to negativeinfluences and leads to erosionof values. This is the story of ourfall– from being completelyvirtuous and pure to beingcompletely vicious and impure. This is when the Supreme givesus the spiritual wisdom to returnto our original state ofwholeness, to our original divinepure state. Purity is the by-product of spiritual knowledge. It is the foundation of spirituality.Knowledge helps us to go deepinto ourselves and realise thetruth--the truth about our original

purity, as how we were oncepowerful and pure, full of divineenergy. Our inner purityreflected in the beauty of naturebut as we experienced a shift inour consciousness, we werecaught in a web of vices ofanger, lust, greed etc. Now is thetime to embrace purity andmake our sanskars divine.

Purity does not just meanremaining celibate or wearingwhite clothes but it has manymore dimensions. Purity is themother of peace and happiness.God Shiva, the Supreme Fatherhas bestowed the treasures ofknowledge and fills us with thepowers and virtues. Those whorealise the elevated nature of thesoul renounce impurity andmake the soul into a valuablediamond. We must be honestwith the Father and have implicitfaith in Baba, the Ocean ofKnowledge. An honest soulexperiences an ascending stagewith the Father’s cooperationand His companionship. So anhonest heart will be ever happyand ever peaceful. Pure andpeaceful souls enjoy the angelicstage – being in an elevatedstage detached from the old

world; old sanskars no longeremerge in them and they arecompletely detached from thebody and the old world. Theyremain soul-conscious. Theycontinue to give cooperation andblessings to all the soulssuffering from impurity. Theytransform the impure souls intopure souls. JagadambaSaraswati (lovingly called‘Mamma’) enjoyed the angelicstage because she remainedever pure and was able to buildan aura around her whichprotected her from negativesouls. Mamma realised theconfusion of all souls by instillingthe awareness of God Shiva, i.e.Shiv Baba. Baba instils fivequalities mainly: Purity, truthfulness, obedience, humbleness and love-fullness.Purity brings love andtruthfulness from the Almighty. This naturally relieves us fromattachment and craving forunwanted things. Impurethoughts bring us intoundesirable situations.

So what are we to do now?Shiv Baba gives the knowledgewhich is latent within the souland purifies the soul. So it is ourduty to get the instructions fromBaba, though it will not come ina visible form. Building stillnessand silence while maintainingpurity and taking pure foodcooked in the remembrance of

The moment the worksbegan, the pigeons had noother choice other than torelocate to a different place.

They found a Churchnearby and decided to settledown there. As there werealready some pigeons whowere in the Church, the newcomers, managed to findplaces in between, whereverthey could. They were fortunate to finda place in a Mosque nearbyand similarly managed to findplaces for them to live alongwith the existing ones there.

The Mosque also, due toRamadan decided to carryout some repair works. Bythis time the temple worksand the function was over, allof them came back to thesame temple.

One day, when the pigeonswere sitting on the top andrelaxing, they were watchingsome communal clashesgoing on below and not faraway from the temple.

The baby pigeon asked themother pigeon: “Who arethese people”. The motherreplied that they are “Humanbeings”.

The baby asked: “But whyare they fighting with each

other”?The mother said: “These

human beings going totemple are called ‘Hindus’and the people going toChurch are called ‘Christians’and the people going toMosque are called ‘Muslims’.

The Baby pigeon asked:“Why is it so? Look, when wewere in the Temple we werecalled Pigeons, when wewere in the church we werecalled Pigeons and when wewere in the Mosque, we werecalled Pigeons. Similarly theyshould be called just ‘Humanbeings’ wherever they go”.

Look at the wonderful replythe Mother gave “You and meand our Pigeon friends haveunderstood and that’s whywe are living here in a highlyelevated place peacefully;these people are yet tounderstand that and hencethey are living below us andfighting and killing eachother”.

The World Drama cyclecontinues to spin, as perits time. We have to pay

attention on how to attain anelevated status within the cycle.Everything will continue tohappen as per the time. Whatsort of time is it now? Time torise higher, from down below! This is why we have to makeeffort for this, to become purefrom being impure. Otherwise, all those religious fathers whocome from above also have tocome down, as they continue totake births.

Now God Himself comes andteaches us, inspiring us to makeeffort to rise higher. So there isonly the One to purify all theimpure ones. Christ, Buddha, come pure; establish theirrespective religions, and as theycome into the cycle of death andbirth, they have to becomeimpure – to descent. Theydescent and so do theirfollowers. We have alsobecome impure from pure, butthere is a difference: ours is nowthe ascending stage, whereastheirs is the descendingstage. They have to become

THE CYCLE HAS TO SPIN

impure from pure, whereas wehave to become pure fromimpure because the Father isnow teaching us. We shouldunderstand all these accounts.

This is the very time when thenew religion and the new worldare being established. It is nowthe end of this old world. Weshould understand all thesethings and make effortsaccordingly.ATTAIN THAT FORTUNE

The Father is present for suchan elevated task, so we shouldtake the full benefit now. Whatsort of benefit? This is thehighest benefit of all, which noone gave to anyone. Whatevertask the religious fathers did is

different. The task the Father isdoing, no one else can do. Thereligious fathers come during thetime of descent; the Fathercomes and takes us all into theascending stage. We have tounderstand the nature of thepresent time.

Religious fathers do notcome when it is time to goup. They come during theCopper Age. After that, in theIron Age, they must comefurther down. They have comedown birth after birth, andbecome impure frompure. They are not calledpurifiers of the impure ones. The Father comes and purifiesimpure ones. He takes all soulsback to liberation, and salvation. This is the responsibility of One.The rest all have to come down.No matter how great souls arewhen they come, they have togo down.

For whom are we doing this?Yes, we do this for theself. Suppose someone’streasure store is gettingfilled. Even though it is notvisible, he is earning a lot; it’saccumulating a hundred-fold, athousand-fold. He is makingmore and more. It’s good. Here,we are doing service andaccumulating for the future.Whoever does, gets; and he orshe receives in the new world, too.

Brahma Baba had alwayswanted that we shouldhave the awareness

about the self and be clear aboutwhat really belongs to us.Almost all philosophicaldiscourses emphasize thequestion of ‘knowing one’s own-self’, but very few seriousefforts seem to have been madein this direction. No doubtthrough-out our life we identifyourselves and the personsaround us with certain featuresand characteristics as theiridentification marks. But havewe seriously thought, beforebeing introduced to any divineideology, whether all theseidentification marks relate to usor to the persons with whom weassociate them with. BrahmaBaba ensured that each soulwas clear about its spiritualidentity and the mortal nature ofthe body.

Let us take the most commonand most important feature of ouridentity i.e. our name. Everybodyis given a name in the family/society and in a family no twopersons are given the samename. In other words my nameseems to distinguish me from

others. But have we thoughtwhose identity it is or have weaccepted our name as being ourown self? Generally in case ofidentity we do not move beyondour name.

If asked, our reply would be‘my parents named me…’ or ‘Iwas given this name’. But whois this ‘me’ or ‘I’? While weutter these words we don’tunderstand their significance. We say, ‘…named me…’,‘…was given…name’, but havenever tried to find out ‘namedwhom?’ Who was given thisname? Does this not mean that‘I’ and ‘the name’ are twodifferent things? Moreover ‘I’am not just a name.

But then we go on associatingour identity with many otherthings like education, job, profession, social status etc. Butlike name all these things andqualities have been acquired bythe one whom we call ‘I’. Theproof of these externalachievements is that all thesethings were acquired in thispresent life and they remain withme as mine only in this life. Socan I call them my permanentor integral features?

Surely the answer to theseand similar other questions willdawn upon us the truth of ourexistence with which we are sopassionately attached and sopathetically ignorant of. T h esecond question ‘who is mine?’leads us a step further on thispath of true knowledge of selfand our existence. Once wecome to realize that I am notwhat I seem to be or what Iidentify myself with, then it alsomakes us understand the truthof our surroundings and thepersons who are often foundaround us.

When we say ‘mine’, therecomes a sense of right orauthority and an idea ofpossession. But with socialhuman relations ‘Mera Kaun’(who is mine) may not show thatright of possession or authorityand it would stand for good anduseful expectation. In otherwords, such a relation isexpected to prove useful andhelpful in times of my need. Ifwe think that relations or at leastsome basic relation are one’sown, one needs to think again. No doubt some relations arefundamental like one’s parents, father and mother, while otherrelations of brother, sister, husband, wife, children, uncle, aunts etc. may be treated assecondary. I call themsecondary because one may ormay not have some or many of

these relations. These days, when the norm is of smallfamilies and people try to limit their family to one or twochildren, one may or may not have a brother or a sister.During the course of one’s life one may not marry at all andas such the relations of husband, wife, children etc. becomeredundant for him/her.

Again there is another aspect to this question of ‘MeraKaun’. Many of our relatives pass away quite early in ourlife and we don’t find them around us in times of our need.Say father, mother, husband, wife, brother, sister, son, daughteretc. may not be with us when we seem to need them themost.

However, while we are lucky to have most of theserelations, do they stand by us in times of our need? It is notblaming one or more relations, but the complexities of lifeare such that even we, despite our sincere efforts, may notbe of much use to our relatives in times of their need. Everylife is different and unique in its own way. Therefore itsneeds and also the expectations are different.

Think for a moment and say ‘can we name any of ourrelations with whom we have never had any complaint ordissatisfaction’. Have we never found anything lacking inthe conduct of that person? We generally avoid suchquestions with the phrase ‘no man can ever be perfect’. Ofcourse it is a fact, but do we really accept it? Don’t wemake complaints and even break relations or grow hostilewith someone who fails to come up to our expectations intimes of our need? Did we tell ourselves at such a time that,‘no one is perfect’?

When slowly and gradually the truth of the self and realityof relations dawns upon us, we understand the true meaningand significance of spiritual learning. It is only then that man’strue spiritual growth and development starts. Baba alwaysasked us not to associate such learning with being an asceticor a sanyasi or having disinterest. The true knowledge ofthe self, the God and the universe is the only thing man needsto learn and follow. Learning the truth has always been ahigh quality of one’s character – be it the truth about theworking of a natural law or the life itself. Only this will payin the long run to achieve the ultimate goal of life. This wasthe crux of Brahma Baba’s teaching and spiritual practice.

MOMOMOMOMOTIVTIVTIVTIVTIVAAAAATIONTIONTIONTIONTIONThe example of an iceberg shows

the need to see under people’s surfacebehaviour; the need of a deeper insight.

Only 10% of an iceberg is visible onthe surface; 90% is under the waterline, invisible, but yet prominent. If there isa wind coming from left to right, justby seeing the visible mass, we think itwill move the iceberg to towards theright. If, against all expectations, theiceberg moves in the opposite direction(left), it is because, under the waterline, there is a strong current runningtowards the left.

Sometimes you, as a leader, try tomove people in a certain direction bygiving them orders, instructions, explanations and encouragement, butyou do it on the basis of what you seeabove the surface. The visible partrepresents what is at the surface suchas appearance, behaviour, mannersetc. You do not see what moves themunder the surface so you becomesurprised and maybe frustrated seeingthem move in the oppositedirection. The main part, which is the90% not visible, is within thesubconscious. Under the surface(subconscious), you will find emotions, fears, attitudes, deeply held values etc.

If you want to move people, if youwant to motivate others for a project oreven just to reach others, you need tobe aware of these kinds of things thatyou find under the surface. The key tounderstanding others better is to bemore aware of your own feelings andunder-currents, because, at a deeplevel, we are very much alike. If youunderstand your own fears and strongmotivators, you will understand othersmuch better.

Meditation is apowerful exercise, but remaining in

powerful stage requires effortand attention. Rajyogameditation is not taught by anyhuman being, but is imparted byGod Himself.

According to GodlyKnowledge revealed by GodShiva Himself through themedium of Prajapita Brahma,Rajyoga enables one to getconnected with the SupremeSoul who is Incorporeal and doesnot take birth from any mother’swomb nor does He take the lastbreath. He is the SupremeParent of all human souls. He isa tiny conscient Point of Light, the purifier who comes to purifyall human souls, the Nature andfive elements of the world. Atthe end of Kaliyuga, when allthe souls are degraded by thefive vices, and become impureby the actions they havecommitted during the course ofmaximum 63 births, then Hecomes and imparts thisknowledge through thecorporeal medium of PrajapitaBrahma at the auspicious

Confluence Age. He explainsthat originally, the souls haveseven divine attributes such asknowledge, purity, peace, love, joy, bliss and power but withpassage of time, the souls losetheir power and get influencedby five vices predominantly, which leads to degeneratedmind, and deteriorated world. Thus, a constant and powerfulmeditation is required todemolish the kingdom of Ravan,i.e. five vices in male and fivevices in female, which havebeen ruling for 2500 years.

With the passage of time, ourworld becomes the breedingplace for vices rightfully termedas Hell. It is only the SupremeSoul, who by virtue of teachingGodly Knowledge and RajyogaMeditation takes us back to ouroriginal home called the SupremeAbode or the Incorporeal World. Those who recognize God,follow His divine Knowledgewhole-heartedly and conquerthe vices become entitled for theGolden Age, i.e. Satyuga orHeaven or Paradise. However,in order to be eligible to go toour Original Sweet Silence

Home, we need to be pure orvice-less. Meditation, i.e. Godlyremembrance is the mostpowerful tool that is used todispel vices.

The simplest yet mostimportant thing which one needsto realize is that ‘I’m a soul nota body’. The soul is a conscientpoint of light which resides in theforehead in the middle of one’seyebrows. One must realize andexperience the spiritual identityof being a soul by havingconstant awareness of ‘not beinga body’. It is also important toremain in the company of theSupreme Father throughout theday. Of course the daily routineand responsibilities have to bedischarged with sincerity andefficiency yet everything shouldbe done as if it were done withthe command and supervision ofthe Supreme Soul. One veryimportant aspect of RajyogaMeditation is to treat every otherhuman being as brother soul. One also needs to practise thateveryone else, like oneself, isalso a soul and not a body.Hence one should neither becharmed by anyone’s body norby his or her activity, since eachone is performing different rolein this Eternal World Drama, where everyone’s role is fixedand auspicious; however, I’ve toplay my role in the best possiblemanner as per Godly advice.

One major aspect of the

POWERFUL STAGESOF MEDITATION

– B. K. Banshidhar, Bhubaneswar

Page 29: From the mighty pen of Sanjay CONTENTS ADI DEV BRAHMA

The World Renewal, January 2015 29

Meditation is treating life as ajourney whose destination isIncorporeal World or SoulWorld. One has to rememberGod so as to purify oneself ofall the five vices before one canbe considered for this final goal. Moreover, the place and positionin the New World, Satyuga willalso depend upon our efforts andpractice of meditation.

Some people believe thatsome external means can helpin the intensity of meditation. They feel that the red light, playing of the spiritual music, placing a photo of Brahma Babaor Shiv Baba in front or even acommentary by the Rajyogateacher will help them connectwith the Supreme Soul and makemeditation effective. Whilethese means may give somesupport especially in thebeginning, they have no intrinsicrelationship with meditation andspiritual realization. Even thetraditional methods whichrecommend bodily posturescalled ‘Hath Yog’ are not muchrelevant since one can sit in anycomfortable posture whichallows him/her to performmeditation as long as one wantswithout any bodily pain ordiversion. That is why theSupreme Soul asks His childrento be in His Company evenwhile performing the mundaneactivities of daily life. Thus, onecan form a loving link with

Supreme even while performingone’s official duty or dischargingsome domestic responsibility. The only concern should be thatone has the awareness of beinga soul while discharging hisduties.

The significant attainment ofmeditation depends on the threedimensions i.e. the length, thebreadth and the intensity. Oneshould be able to performmeditation for longer spells oftime. The longer we remainconnected with the SupremeSource of all blessings, the morewe are likely to attain. Secondlythe breadth of meditationinvolves the quality of ourrelationship with the SupremeSoul. That is why God Shivaoften asks us to establish allrelations with Him. Let usexperience and enjoy thetruthfulness of our relations withHim. We have often called Him‘My Father’, but have we reallytreated Him as such in our reallives? Or is it just at the time ofdifficulty that He becomes ‘myFather’? It is not for nothing thatHe asks us to consider Him our

Father, Mother, Friend, Guide,Benefactor, Child, Lover etc. However, the third dimensionrelates to the depth and intensityof the meditation. For somepeople, meditation is an activityperformed at some fixed timeand at a fixed place during theday. In such a case, meditationturns out to be no more than aformality. The remembrance ofGod has to become natural just, like breathing. This means thatwe are in constant touch withHim just as we continue tobreathe at all times. This stageof meditation proves ourconviction that He is theSupreme Father, Teacher andPreceptor (Satguru), withoutwhom our life and existencemeans nothing and can gainnothing, be it in this world or theNew World. This is what meansto be a Karma Yogi.

Let us inculcate the processesand divine virtues and realize thepowerful connection with theSupreme at every step of our lifeand be blessed with peace, happiness and prosperity.

You can search throughout the entire universefor someone who is more deserving of your loveand affection than you are yourself, and thatperson is not to be found anywhere.

When my husband lefthis mortal coilsuddenly after a

severe heart attack, I had to goto close our bank accounts aswell as inform his pension officein U.K. of his demise. When Itold a few of his friends who hadworked in U.K. that I’d be goingthere to inform of his demise andrequest for the widow’s pensionas well, they told me that gettingthe widow’s pension will not beeasy because the prevailinglaws in U.K. are very strict andthey require many documents toprove that the applicant was hiswife. However, I was notdisheartened as I was aware ofall the documents required, viz.,my birth certificate, marriagecertificate and my late husband’sdeath certificate.

I randomly booked my Airticket for U.K in May 2013. TheB.K. brother who picked me upat the Air port informed me thatrevered Dadi Janki ji had arrivedthe previous day and wasstaying at the Global CorporationHouse. I was very happy andfelt myself multi-millionfortunate to be able to see her, receive her drishti (spiritual

gaze), and listen to her words ofwisdom. I had come back toU.K. after 20 years and feltfortunate to be there at the sametime as Dadi ji. I thanked themost beloved God Shiva forgiving me this wonderfulopportunity. When I met SisterJayanti, I found her very kind, loving and sweet. She made allarrangements with anothersister, for me to visit the OxfordRetreat Centre and also theWorthing Centre when DadiJanki ji was there. I went to theIlford Centre also where theyhad a well attended publicprogramme with Dadi ji. I wasgoing to be in U.K. for twoweeks. On the last day at theWorthing Centre, I was able tosit right in front of Dadi atAmritvela and she gave me verypowerful drishti and I felt verymuch elated. After the class, wealso left for London at the sametime when Dadi left. On theway, we halted for a while sothat the sister who was drivingwho was feeling thirsty couldhave a soft drink. In themeantime, I got down stretchingmy legs as I was having kneepain, I walked up to the shop.

Seeing the B.K. badge (given tome by Dadi in Madhuban), theperson at the shop expressed hiswillingness to know about thebadge. I explained in detail andalso about our centres where theRajyoga lessons are given freeof charge. At that moment, thesister came with chocolate barsand asked for four bottles of softdrinks. He gave the soft drinksand when she tried to pay, herefused to take the moneysaying that since we all weredoing great service to thehumanity, it was his pleasure toserve us.

The second week too I got thechance to be with Dadi ji duringAmritvela (Nectar Time) at theGlobal Corporation House andbefore the Murli was read, wemet her personally and receivedher powerful drishti. Afterlistening to the Gyan Murli, i.e.Flute of Godly Knowledge; Iwent to my husband’s PensionOffice, after making anappointment with the officer incharge. I told him that I came tomeet him as I’d be going backto Sri Lanka the week after. Hewas very kind and helpful. Ishowed him all the relevantdocuments and also the requiredphotocopies. He said it wouldtake about an hour. Then Iinformed him as I was going toclose our bank account so mywidow pension would have to besent to Sri Lanka. He then told

me that it was not a problemand assured me that he wouldmake necessary arrangementsin that regard too. Then I toldhim that I was also getting apension and that too had to besent to Sri Lanka. He thentelephoned my pension officeregarding my request andmade arrangements to sendme a form. I felt thateverything was being donesmoothly and successfullybecause of BapDada’s help.

On the last Saturday duringmy stay in London, I went tosee my husband’s best friend. While talking he told me that ifI had come there to get widowpension sorted out, I’d find itvery difficult as they requiremany documents and it wouldtake about 3 to 4 months. When I told him that Imanaged to get it done in onehour, he was surprised andwanted to know how I did it. Itold him that it was because ofthe help of God, the SupremeSoul. He was a bit annoyed andtold me that being a Buddhist,he didn’t believe in God. But Igave him a brief introductionabout God, the Supreme Soul.I continued that when we getto know what He is like, Hisname, residence, attributes andtasks, we remember Himthrough our mind and intellect.I also told him that if I haven’thad the Rajyoga knowledge, I

would have been very miserable. I bade them goodbye, leaving behindsome spiritual pamphlets, in the hope that they too will recognizetheir spiritual Father and embrace His love.

Two days later, I returned to Sri Lanka having achieved all Iwanted to achieve, with the added bonus of being in London whenour Divine Dadi Janki ji was there. I express my heartfelt thanks toBeloved BapDada for being my constant source of support.

Today, we are literallybombarded with loads ofinformation through

multiple medium, namelyinternet, TV, telephone, SMS,newspaper, email, and hugenumber of mobile applications. Thus, we can access anyinformation, any detail from anycorner of the world, may bethousands of miles away. Thequestion is whether we needall these information?Someone may argue that sincewe live in this world, we needthis information.

Let us just think of the world15-20 years ago. People did nothave access to so muchinformation, yet they ledsomewhat a happy life. Somemay argue that more informationpresents us with more choicesthat can help in better decision-making. However at times whenwe are presented with too muchinformation then we are unableto take decisions quickly. Wecan compare the two situations– one goes to a common coffeeshop where only 2 varieties areavailable. Another person goesto hi-tech coffee shop wheremore than 40 varieties areavailable with many selections

of different parameters. Whichperson can take decisionquickly? It is simple – the firstperson.

With ever increasinginformation, are we getting anyreal insight? Do we only takethe information that we need ordo we end up taking much moreinformation than we actuallyneed? We can really decongestour mind if we focus oncontent that brings value toour world.

One has to learn or nurturethe art of ignoring theinformation not required. Many times, most of theinformation is of no use andleaves one stressed, anxious andfatigued. It is just a waste andburden.

Today, we have much moreinformation than we canassimilate and process. With theadvent of computer mediatedcommunication– text messages,

emails, posts on socialnetworking sites, Google oryahoo related search, theproblem of information overloadhas intensified as more and morepeople are caught up in seekingtrivial information.

This has been the cause ofmuch of stress, fatigue andreduced productivity, loss ofconcentration and feeling ofbeing overburdened. This haseroded personal healthy andfamily life and affected therelationship that we have withself, with others and mostimportantly with God.

It is time that we take a breakbefore this overload completelyparalyzes us. We need to limitthe sources of information to thatwhich is really useful for us.Also, it is important to take timeoff from the barrage ofinformation. Set aside sometime for useful activity likeexercise, spending time withfriends/family most importantlyspend some time with self—meditation. This is the way wecan empower self and makeinformed decisions.

Iron-aged world. Baba saw, inthat vision, the world shakingbadly because of severeearthquakes, certain continentsburning and going deep downunder the water because ofnuclear catastrophe and a lot ofblood being shed in Indiabecause of communal frenzy.Baba felt terrified and saddened. He then had a vision of the new, coming world orderof Satyuga or Golden Age whenthere would be perfect law andorder, love, unity, purity, peaceand prosperity. Baba wasordained by the Divine to be Hiscorporeal medium for the re-establishment of Satyuga – theera of world peace. Babawillingly and immediatelysurrendered all his worldlybelongings and his physical, mental and spiritual energies toGod and, as corporeal mediumto Shiv Baba, became thefounding father of BrahmaKumaris Institution.

PROTOTYPE OF A DEVBaba was unlike the saints

and founders of religions of thepast and gurus and ‘god-men’ ofthe present. Incorporeal GodShiva had given him the name,Prajapita Brahma, because, through him the whole worldwas to be spiritually created. Hewas also known as Adi Devbecause he was the prototypeof a dev or god of the futureGolden-aged world. Bypracticing intense and lovefull

meditation, Baba not only settledhis karmic accounts and becamecompletely enlightened, purifiedand divinized but he now had therare privilege of working in unionand unison with God Shiva fromthe realm of angels for the goodof mankind.IDEAL GODLY STUDENT

He was able to impart thewords of profound wisdom – thisdespite the fact that he did nothave much formal education.Perhaps, this proved an asset, forhis mind received noindoctrination and falseconditioning and had no vanityof being a highly educated manor a scholar. He alwaysconsidered himself a student –a Godly student. He was an idealGodly student for he followedGod’s teachings wholeheartedlyand sincerely.HIS RESPONSIBILITIES

He did not believe in thephilosophy of being tucked awayin the bowels of the red woodforests, besides a stream, awayfrom all. In fact, he disapprovedof all this and advised to benatural. He was a practicalWorld Teacher. He knew thatthe salvation of an individualwould solve no problem, for thewhole world was in agony andpain. He, therefore, worked forthe purification of one and all.

CRITICS AS FRIENDSPurity and Meditation,

Knowledge and Virtues were hismain lamps of life. He was anembodiment of tolerance,

compassion and forgiveness. His opponents relentlessly triedto malign him but he neverallowed hate to enter into hismind. He wished all people welland considered his critics to behis friends, for they drew hisattention to certain points of hisweakness and imperfection.

BABA’S MESSAGEHis main lesson is pithily

expressed in his last discoursewhich he delivered on the nightof 18th January, 1969. He askedman to become Nirakari,Nirvikari and Nirhankari, i.e.,to establish himself in the truththat he is an incorporeal soul, tobe viceless and, above all, togive up all pride, ego and body-consciousness. He further askedto have lovefull and consciouslink with God, for that alone iscapable of absolving the soul ofall its rust of past moraldeformities. Baba’s messagewas the message of love, compassion and universalbrotherhood of man, under theFatherhood of God. His methodhas brought real integrationamong people of different races, nationalities, castes and creedsand has given hope and peaceto the agony-stricken world.

VALUE OF TIMEHe understood the value of

time as no one else did. He oftenexplained how this particular life, being last in the World Cycle, was valuable and how time, usefully spent in spiritualendeavour and in service of

mankind can give us a happy futurefor twenty-five centuries. “Our presentbody”, he said, though born of sex-lust,can be a very useful instrument forraising ourselves to be deities.” He,therefore, advised us to take care ofthe body as God’s property and to dono evil, hear no evil and not to see evilthrough it, for God will not give to man– a thing for being misused. When itwas time for doing Godly service, hecounselled all not to say ‘No’, for Babawould help a person if he wouldhappily devote the self to service.

Tower of Light & StrengthAbove all, he was the greatest

Rajyogi of all times. There was divinegrace in his acts. He radiated vibrationsof spiritual calmness. He had attainedthe mental quietude and constancyunder situations of stress and in faceof vicissitudes. He was noble-heartedand had become, by means of practiceof intense meditation, a powerhousefrom which a great multitude of men, women and children drew their spiritualstrength.

In the strife-torn world, he broughtpeace to many homes, hopes to manydejected souls, spiritual strength tothose who considered themselves tooweak to attain worthy goals of purity, and he blessed many souls with the giftof self-realisation and happiness. Heis now doing this divine work in theangelic form of Avyakt Brahma. Heand the Supreme Soul, Shiv Baba, whoare in constant company, are togethercalled Bap-Dada.

DETACHMENT IS THE KEY– Hari Om Chawla, New Delhi

The best way to deal any situation in life, pleasant orunpleasant, is to become detached. Detachmentenables us to choose a response, instead of acting

automatically. In case of any mental distress and discomfort, many of

us generally do not behave normally. We either becometoo much entangled or try to find an escape route throughdistractions like smoking, drinking, eating, viewingtelevision, pictures. This is not a way to deal withdiscomforts. We must remain fully aware, detached andtry to observe the unpleasant feelings and thoughts. Wecan thus get an opportunity to go deep.

Even in case of physical problems, we can remaindetached from the pain and just be a witness to it,unattached, as if the thing is happening to someone else. And this is actually happening to someone else, becausethis is my body; I am not body. We can realize this factwhen we are soul conscious.

Only when we are detached, we can see things in properperspective. Pre-conceived notions, anger, greed, jealousy, worry etc. block our consciousness and what we see iscoloured by our mental state. In case of conflicts in thefamily, with friends or at workplace, if we are detached andnot obsessed with our own views, we are able to understandand appreciate others’ points too. Their way of looking atthings may be different from ours, depending upon theirenvironments, impressions and experience, but they arenot wrong.

Even for properly enjoying little things in life, we need tobe detached. With attachment comes ego, which preventsus from giving proper attention to the beauties of life spreadall around us.

The more we are aware and detached, the more webecome soul conscious and free from all sorts of fears.Detachment enables us to look at the life in totality, makesour inner journey free from hurdles and connects us to ourcore. The Raj Yoga meditation at Brahma Kumaris helpsus to detach from the waste, negative thoughts, tounderstand the real self, the peaceful soul and to connectwith Supreme Soul, our dear Shiv Baba.

We must endeavour to increase the level of detachmentand cultivate a witness state, the sakshi bhaav!
