From the Ground Up:A Towering Legacy

Chapter Five:The Hula Invasion

Page 2: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

Welcome back! Jazz is delighted to see you!

Last time, Jazz grew into an adult and headed abroad for some good old fashioned spouse searching. She met two guys she particularly liked, Zeeshan and Jim. She had more bolts for Jim than for Zeeshan, and he seemed to like her too…

And that pretty much brings us up to now! Let’s get started!

Page 3: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

Now you’re probably wondering why I’ve included a picture of some random girl in this chapter. Well, if you look carefully, you’ll find Beat heart-farting her.

He takes loving from afar to a whole new meaning.

Page 4: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

Eventually, Beat got over his nerves and was able to talk to the girl he was crushing on.

“You look great in purple!”

“Thank you!”

I like the idea of putting these two together, but we’ll see. Beat’s relationship with her is still pretty low.

Page 5: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

True to his word, Jim Reeves did make it over from Twikkii Island. Though he wasn’t exactly dressed for the weather.

It’s the beginning of spring now, but there’s still snow on the ground.

Page 6: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

Unfortunately, the happy reunions were cut short by an unexpected visitor.

“Oh, hey! Jazz, you never told me you had a dog!”

SHE DOESN’T ANYMORE.

“What?”

GRACE’S TIME IS UP. MY CONDOLENCES.

Page 7: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

“WAH! MY DOG IS DEAD!”

“I gave up sunshine and tourist girls for this. Ugh.”

Page 8: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

Jim did eventually decide to try and be more useful.

“Does me holding you help?”

Jazz sniffed, “Yes. You’re so strong.”

“I know. I’m amazing!”

Page 9: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

“I like having you around, Jim.”

“Most people do. It’s my lack of a shirt.”

“Oh yeah, about that, aren’t you cold?”

Page 10: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

The snow melted, and Jazz leant Jim one of Dorian’s old coats and took him out to show him the neighbourhood. Just in time for Dorian to arrive home.

“Who’s that guy with my little girl? Also, is that my coat?”

Page 11: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

Fed up of her father’s interfering, Jazz took Jim back inside…straight to the master bedroom.

Jim doesn’t technically live with us at this point, and I haven’t got a proper room for Jazz just yet, so I suppose they didn’t really have much choice.

But still. That’s her parents’ bed. There are plenty of couches they could have used.

Page 12: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

After that, Jim did move in, so I’m going to have to rearrange things to make a second master bedroom anyway.

On the plus side, Jim brought quite a bit of money with him – I guess working on Twikkii Island pays well! I’m loving the fact my founder and heiress have chosen quite well-off men!

Anyway, Jim is a Romance sim (like you didn’t see that coming) with a personality of 2/7/2/6/7

Page 13: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

“Hey, Dad! Hang loose!”

“Hang…loose?”

Page 14: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

Dorian tried his best to hang loose, he really did.

“I can do it! I can fit in with the young people!”

Page 15: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

“Wow, Jazz! Excellent taste in men!”

“Tell me about it!”

“Does he ever wear a shirt?”

“Nope.”

“Squee!”

Page 16: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

Anyway, the reason everyone was downstairs was for Dorian’s birthday. He seemed a lot younger than Aurora, but that’s just me.

Page 17: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

And naturally, everyone turned out to watch. They’re a weird looking bunch, but that’s fine by me.

Also, that random townie girl. I have no idea where she came from.

Page 18: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

Dorian looks essentially the same. But what did you expect? I don’t think the alien face changes much once they’ve hit adulthood.

Page 19: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

After everything is done and dusted downstairs, Jim and Jazz retire to their own bedroom, now situated where the nursery used to be. Once the third floor is installed, their bedroom will move up and the room will become a nursery again.

Speaking of the third floor, it’s time to produce some kids!

…it took them four tries. And looking at how smug they are, they probably did it on purpose.

Page 20: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

And seeing as neither of them were rolling fears for it…

“Jim Reeves, we’ve only known each other a short time, but I already know I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?”

“I suppose I can cope with that. If we get to woohoo lots.”

“Well, of course!”

Page 21: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

“Um, stupid question, but where did all of these people in formalwear come from?”

“I think it might have something to do with the engagement.”

Page 22: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

“You didn’t tell me we were going to get married TWO HOURS later!”

“Honestly, I didn’t plan to get married this soon.”

“Can we change our minds?”

“Nope, we already bought the wedding arch.”

“Fiiine. Shortest engagement ever, by the way.”

Page 23: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5
Page 24: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

“These chairs are disgusting, I refuse to sit in them!”

“I forgot how to sit down!”

“I’m just going to stand here and not pay attention to anything.”

…it was a beautiful wedding, no?

Page 25: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

The guests then crammed themselves upstairs for some smustling. Cube apparently had missed out on all of the wedding antics.

“What’s going on?”

Page 26: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

Hooray! A new generation is on its way!

“I don’t want a baby!”

She then rolled a fear of a baby, and kept it there. Great.

Page 27: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

Jim was a little more enthusiastic.

“Can we name him Jim Jr.?”

“What if it’s a girl?”

“Jimella?”

Page 28: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

Obligatory shot of the finished portraits, hanging side by side.

Despite all of my complaining, I do quite like Jim –and his recessives!

Page 29: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

I like Jim despite his smug little grin here.

“I’m going to teach EVERYONE the hula!”

And they will do the hula so much they’ll forget eating is a thing they need to do to survive. Thanks, Jim.

Page 30: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

“Hey, sis, there’s some spaghetti downstairs, should we go get some?”

“Nah, let’s just keep dancing.”

Side note, I’ve never noticed how flat Beat’s profile is until now.

Page 31: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

This is the first time I’ve ever had a dog ghost. And also the first time I’ve ever had a dog ghost haunt someone!

Grace has decided she doesn’t like Jim, for some reason. He’s the only one she scares.

Page 32: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

Soon enough, it was time for Cube’s birthday. It seems like Jazz has been an adult for ages, but only because she went to Twikkii Island.

Don’t they all look so excited?

Page 33: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

Cube is gorgeous, just like her sister!

But considering they’ve looked the same all this time, you probably expected that.

…I’m still pleased with this.

Page 34: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

“Congratulations on not going to college, sis!”

“Gee thanks, Beat.”

Page 35: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

Cube was then booted out because there’s not enough room to keep spares in this tower!

Page 36: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

“So what do you think? Am I not just the world’s greatest chef?”

“Making a sandwich does not make you a chef!”

Jazz clearly feels very passionate about the matter.

Page 37: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

“So who is this guy?”

“I thought you brought him home?”

“Who taught him how to hula?”

“It wasn’t you? The Twikkii Island Hula Specialist?”

“Ha ha. No, seriously, why is everyone doing the hula now? Have I started a trend?”

Page 38: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

And after what felt like an eternity, Jazz finally went into labour.

I’m guessing it didn’t feel an eternity to you. Try waiting to build a new floor and start a generation all at the same time!

Page 39: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

Ladies and gentlemen, it’s a girl! This is Poppy, who appears to have her mother’s bug eyes and green recessives . She’s also a red head! Yay!

And no, Jazz didn’t suddenly age, that’s Aurora holding the baby. So where’s Jazz?

Page 40: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

“Ahahaha! Babies suck!”

Yeeeah. She was still fearing having a baby, and there was nothing I could do about it. Now would be a good time to show you our new shiny third floor!

Page 41: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

Here is the NEW floor! Isn’t it great?

That’s Jazz and Jim’s bedroom. I will most likely end up moving things around later on (I do that a lot) but for now, there’s quite a bit of space up here.

Page 42: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

The second level. Not much has changed, but I took the bathroom out for the stairs – I’ve played ahead and I am seriously regretting that decision.

Page 43: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

And the ground floor!

I made Aurora and Dorian’s room smaller so I could fit a dining table in. It’s still a bit awkward sometimes, so I’m probably going to have to shift more stuff around.

Page 44: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

And now we have a third floor, this has suddenly become an issue.

“Let’s hang loose on the landing so no one can get through!”

“Sounds like a great idea!”

Page 45: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

Jazz has completely lost it. For now, I’m sure she’ll be fine eventually, but seriously. I’ve not had a sim go this crazy from a baby for a long time.

“It’s okay, plate-face, my husband doesn’t need to know we were out here alone…”

Page 46: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

Sun’s up, let’s have a look at the tower!

It’s an ugly, squat building and I love it.

Page 47: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

Grilled cheese is supposed to be made while nude, you knew that right?

…honestly I have no idea where her clothes went.

Page 48: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

That night, tragedy struck.

AURORA STONE, WE NEED YOU IN THE AFTERLIFE!

“What on earth for?”

ER…WELL. YOU BUILT THIS TOWER RIGHT?

“I guess.”

SO YOU MUST BE GREAT AT DON’T WAKE THE LLAMA. WE NEED YOU ON OUR TEAM.

Page 49: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

LOOK, I’LL EVEN BUY YOU A DRINK.

“Sounds good to me! Do I get a pretty pink necklace too?”

NO, THIS IS MINE.

And with that, Aurora went off to the Afterlife, no doubt to try and win Death’s flowery lei in a game of poker.

Page 50: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

And because of the tower, hardly anyone made it down in time to see the death. So then they got distracted by other things.

Like taking turns to feed the baby. I’m sure Poppy’s not that hungry.

Page 51: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

Anyway, babies are dull, so let’s see what we’ve got here!

Beat has the honour of bringing Poppy to the cake, because it’s his birthday too.

Page 52: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

How cute is she?

That’s her Dad’s nose, but I think the rest might be all Jazz.

Poppy has a personality of 2/7/10/6/8 – she’s full of extremes , this one!

Page 53: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

Shortly after Poppy’s cake, Beat steps up to his own.

Page 54: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

He’s handsome! He’ll be sticking around for a little while, because he’s a family sim and my romance heiress is going to need all the help she can get!

Page 55: From the Ground Up: Chapter 5

“Oh hey! Zeeshan! You should come stay with us next week!”

That’s all for now!

See you next time!
