From the Exalted RulerGreetings Fellow Elks:

It seems like just yesterday that I was installed as your Exalted Ruler and here I am today writing my last letter for our Lodge. The year has gone by fast, so logic says that my tenure was a smooth one. Being the Exalted Ruler of your Lodge has been a wonderful experience and I fully intend to continue to serve our Lodge in some capacity, weather it’s helping out at the Lodge’s functions or in the future helping as a trustee or at the state level. We are very fortunate to have such a wonderful Lodge that we do, and it’s not possible without you, our members.

As my days wind down as Exalted Ruler I reflect on the Lodge and who the people are that make it what it is. First and foremost, I would like to thank Ray for all that he does for the Lodge and the help he gave me. His dedication is second to none and everything he does is greatly appreciated. I would also like to thank the board members for all that they do. The stags, steak frys, picnic, New Year’s Day, just to name a few, aren’t possible without the help and dedication from the board members. We all lead busy lives, but always find time to make sure our Lodge continues to be successful. Thanks are also in order to all the members that help at the events. Their continued dedication to be available to help is greatly appreciated. Lastly, thank you to all of you members for continuing to support the Lodge. Your membership helps us support so many wonderful organizations in the community, as well as Camp Grassick and the scholarships we give out to our youth. Your membership makes this possible and leaves lasting impressions on our community.

Moving forward, I would like to congratulate DJ Charbonneau on becoming the new Exalted Ruler starting in April. M a n a g e r ’ s M e s s a g eGreetings Members and Spouses,

It is hard to believe that our fiscal year is coming to an end, and what a remarkable year it has been. It appears all accounts will be in the black for the year. There has been some trying times and moments with the labor costs, and the amount of labor needed to run this operation. The new budgets are done. This will be the first budget on the club side of a $2 Million plus budget for

the year. I know this is high, but as explosive as our numbers have been this appears to be realistic for the year.

I would like to Thank all of you for your attendance and patience on Valentine’s Day. We served in excess of 450 people that night. I have to apologize for the commotion. I am thinking we might have to go to reservations only on Valentine’s Day, we had so many walk-ins in

is very excited to become the first female Exalted Ruler in Dickinson in a few years and Lisa will be a great addition as well. Lisa is currently our office secretary, so it will help having her at our Lodge meetings and make the flow of information that much smoother. Congratulations to everyone.

In closing, I would like to again remind everyone that our Lodge is successful because of our membership. With that in mind, I continue to urge everyone to find

new members for the Lodge. Our membership is stable, but with added growth brings added opportunity to give more to our community, and that’s what the Elks is all about. The backronym for the Elks is “Best People on Earth” and it’s all because “Elks care, Elks share”. Thank you again for a wonderful year and I hope to see you at the Lodge in the near future!

Fraternally,Tom Fath

the Lobby that we could not find the reservations waiting. I have to apologize to those of you that had reservations, and we could not find you.

PER Old Timers night was well attended. I always admire all you gentlemen with 30+ years of Elkdom.

At this time I would like to Thank Tom Fath for his year of service and as Exalted Ruler, and welcome DJ Charbonneau as our new Exalted Ruler for 2012-13 year.

Some upcoming events we have planned are the Rocky Mountain Elk Banquet, The Lincoln Day Dinner, The Dickinson Hockey Banquet, and The Wild Turkey Federation Banquet, so your Lodge will have a very busy March.

With this being March- Members please use up your Birthday Cards, this is one of the benefits of being an Elk.

I am still working on the storage area off the southwest side of the building. Dues statements will be coming out the end of this month, so watch your mail for them.

With the influx of business we will be scaling down the Bar Menu. Hopefully this will alleviate some of the congestion in the bar, and we can provide better service. Also, please make reservations. We have had several groups of 12-15 show up and wonder why we can not get them in the Dining Room at 5:00 on Friday and Saturday nights. Small groups we can work with in a timely matter, but groups of 15 or more need to be in a party room so we can have staff available to serve them. Members with the influx of people this situation is only going to get worse.

At this time I would like to Thank the Vozabal Family for their generous donation of Table Skirts in memory of Ardith. Ardith spent many nights here decorating for events, and many times she would shake her head at me about the table skirts we had. Once again, Thank you for your generosity.

In closing have a Happy St. Patrick’s Day and Take Care
