2nd Sunday of Easter– Divine Mercy Sunday
April 8, 2018
FROM THE DESK OF MONSIGNOR HEITING
MERCY TRIUMPHS OVER FEAR…
This weekend we celebrate the Second Sunday of Easter, also
known as Divine Mercy Sunday. The gospel from Saint John for
this weekend recounts Jesus appearing to His disciples shortly
after the resurrection. The disciples were so terrified by Jesus’ passion, death, and resurrection that they gathered behind
locked doors. Into this situation of panic, Jesus appears to
bring the disciples comfort, mercy, and peace. May the Divine
Mercy of Jesus prevail upon us as well!
YOU ARE INVITED…
Would you be interested in attending the Bishop’s and Rector’s Dinner of IHM Seminary in Winona? This dinner is the
seminary’s annual fundraising event. As our seminary
continues it’s major renovation project, the focus now is on installing an elevator. The dinner will be held on April 22nd in
Winona. If you are interested in going, the parish will pay for your dinner ticket as our contribution to the seminary. Please
let me know if you are interested as soon as possible.
COMPANY IS COMING…
Representatives from Blest Art, a company that sells religious goods made out of olive wood from the Holy Land, will be at
our parish cluster the weekend of April 21st-22nd. This is a
great opportunity to do some shopping for children and young people that you know who will be making their First
Communion this spring or who will receive the Sacrament of
Confirmation in the fall.

Respect Life~ Pornography has become increasingly more available and accepted in today’s society. Both men and women
of all ages have become entangled in the lies and pain of pornography use and even addiction, which has devastating effects on the user and his or her spouse and family. It is important that those who are using pornography and those that are affected by a spouse’s receive the support and healing that they need. To learn more, see www.foryourmarriage.org. Click on For Your Marriage, then Overcoming Obstacles and then Pornography for articles and resources. Another great resource is through the Diocese of Winona. Go to www.dow.org, then Marriage, Life, & Family, and lastly, Men’s Ministries.
Mission of Love~ The picture on the right is of one of the Guatemala children who received a
