From Robert’s Round Table Very soon the school buses will all but disappear from our streets as schools dismiss for summer vacation a few days earlier than usual thanks to a mild winter with no snow days. We are currently in our last week of packing and distributing Blessings in Backpack and are blessed to provide some extra items for the students as they finish out their year. Graduations are taking place around the area this weekend and state finals for spring sports are also just around the corner. Summer is quickly approaching and we have a very full schedule of mission and ministry projects lined up at Central! For many congregations, the summer means lower attendance at worship, members away for travel and vacations and often the scaling back of activities. Not true for this congregation. This special Summer Preview Edition of the Challenger is a full calendar of happenings and events in the life of the church June – September. We will need every person who is able to help us make a witness and offer hospitality as we invite our community to our campus for the events. Starting with Pentecost Sunday on June 4 th , we will proclaim the presence and power of the Holy Spirit in our midst in worship, fellowship, service, mission and love! We hope this summer guide will help you plan to be part of the work of the Spirit through the mission and ministry opportunities at Central. Hope to see you in worship or on the parking lot soon! Peace & Joy, Rev. Robert Bushey, Jr. Farmer’s Market Craft & Bake Sale – Wednesday, May 31 – 4-7pm Local Produce, Farm Goods, Plants & Flowers; Baked Goods; Health & Beauty Vendors; Arts and Craft Vendors; Food & Beverage Vendors on the Parking Lot.
