What ever format you are reading, digitally, audio, or traditional text; words, ideas, or thoughts catch your attention. Sometimes you are reading to fullfil an assignment and are required to document information or thoughts. Other times you are simply curious about a topic. No matter the reason capturing that word, idea, or thought has a name – Note Taking.

Notes can be random thoughts jotted on a scrap of paper, text message, or organized in a notebook or electronic tool. There are many apps, strategies, and formats for capturing those words, images, graphics, and links that can comprise notes.
