Under the auspices of

The workshop that we are presenting is organized by the Center for Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery of Bologna, with the participation of internationally renowned surgeons.Ours is a mixed group of ENT surgeons and Neurosurgeons, and since 1998 our activity has been focusing on Transnasal Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery. It has been one of the pioneer centers for this technique with a wide experience in this field. The transnasal endoscopic surgery was initially used for the endosellar lesions such as pituitary adenomas, but now, the indications have been expanded to the extrasellar pathologies such as craniopharyngiomas, meningiomas, chordomas etc. Besides the excellent results however, there are limitations and complications, which we need to be aware of and to be able to manage. To begin this kind of surgery, it is not sufficient to be able to use the endoscope and to know the anatomy of the skull base. These aspects can be covered by participating in one of the numerous endoscopic dissection courses that are now held all over the world and that we highly recommend. Our course is ambitious to be different and attempts to transfer our patrimony of knowledge of this pathology and of this technique, that we have gathered over the years. With us in the operating theatre, you will be able to observe tips and tricks (from the position of the patient, to how the team is positioned, to the instruments of support that we use) that help us to simplify the surgery. We are at the 15th edition of our workshop and we can state that the formula has proven to be successful. We are proud to count among our past students and supporters some of the best endoscopic skull base surgeons worldwide. We look forward to meeting you in Bologna.
