SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE: Fran Chapman and Kathleen O’Malley

When it rains, it pours! I am not talking about actual precipitation… I'm talking about generous support

from so many community and organization members! First, let me thank Craig and Michele Borba for once again allowing us to invade their lovely home for our fall fundraiser. They moved furniture to give us "dry space" for setting up our tables filled with auction items, let us track wet feet in and out without batting an eye, and as always provided us with a wonderful and welcoming venue! Thank you, too, to Steve Kanold of Adult Customized Tours for providing the drinks and appetizers in addition to TWO fabulous day trips!!! Other businesses who provided auction items are: David's Hair Design, Hot Headz Hair Design, CV Repertory Theater, Billy Reeds, Stater Brothers, Albertson's, Escena Restaurant/Gift Shop, PS Air Museum, Las Casuelas Terraza, Artists by Design, Nettie's Creations, Loco Charlie's Mexican Grill, and United Nails. I apologize if I have missed anyone! Finally, CalRTA Board Members contributed many gift cards and additional items for auction along with time and effort in setting up, running, and cleaning up!

We had about 38 in attendance--including new PSUSD Superintendent, Sandra Lyon, as well as past-Superintendent Bill Diedrich! Between entry fees, auction sales, and other supporting donations we received about $2200 this week! Once again we are off to a great start in meeting our yearly goal of $8000 for scholarships this year!
