SsSt. Padre Pio Assembly No. 2813 Meetings: First Wednesday of every month, 7:00 p.m.

From the Faithful Navigator –Ernest Joas As you might know, Richard Simpson and I have switched positions in a manner of speaking. I’ve been elected to

Faithful Navigator and Richard to Grand Knight.

Over the past year Richard and I have coordinated Council and Assembly events as we see the two organizations as

they should be, two parts of a single entity, the Knights of Columbus. We will continue to do so for the coming year.

Richard has proposed a strategic plan for the year covering all aspects of the Knights and I intend to support his plan both as a Trustee 3 of the Council and as the Faithful Navigator of the Assembly. I trust all in the Assembly will

join me in this endeavor of supporting our Parish via the Knights of Columbus.

A word from PFN Richard Simpson

The annual Fourth Degree Exemplification, hosted by Padre Pio Assembly 2813, was held this past June 25th at St

Frances Cabrini. By every measure this event was a huge success. Sixty new brother Sir Knights from all corners of

Colorado were Knighted in a ceremony by District Master SK Robert Buljung and District Deputy SK Jim Caffrey. We

were honored by the attendance and key note speech by Vice Supreme Master SK Michael Kingman, and our own Faith-

ful Friar SK Rev Sean McGrath was the Class Honoree. Special thanks goes out to our Padre Pio Color Guard for post-

ing the colors, lead by Commander SK Ralph Schmitt.

Over 180 were served at the banquet, which featured prime rib. Kudos to our brother Knights who cooked up this won-

derful meal, lead by SK Raymond Durbala. Thanks to SK Don Ferega for borrowing china from Christ on the Mountain

Parish. And thanks to Judy Conrad and Adalia Simpson for hosting, entertaining, and serving lunch to an extra large

    contingent of ladies.

There are too many Sir Knights to name that worked hard to make this a memorable event, but we do want to recognize

and extend a hearty welcome to our new Padre Pio Sir Knights, pictured in the photo on page two. Congratulations

    to you Sir Knights.
