SHAPES model is a methodology for supporting the effort of subregional authorities to build up an agenda for innovation.
It must be conceived as a tool for advanced policy making.

THE TESTING PHASE
THE MODEL WILL BE TASTED IN 7 PARTNERS’ TERRITORY ON LOCAL STAKEHOLDERS ARTICULATED IN 4 GROUPS ACCORDING TO THE AREA OF INVESTIGATION

In the construction of SHAPES model we have taken into consideration:
* relevance of the indicators;
* comparability among territories;
* novelty;
* time and costs of implementation;
* flexibility.

SHAPES model comes out from the comparison and integration of two models: ALBI model
defined within IN-EUR project and QLE (Quality of Living Environments) developed within
INFLOWENCE project.

IN-EUR project has an economic approachINFLOWENCE has a social approach
SHAPES model comes out from the combination of these two approaches.

It foresees 3 main areas of investigation:
1. Society2. Economy3. Space

1. Creative enterprise system
2. Education, knowledge and research
3. Social creativity and interactions
4. Spatial and environmental quality
5. Finance and infrastructure framework
6. Overall support from governance.

SHAPES common model focuses especially on creative enterprises linked to art and culture, design and media but may be also applied for other assessments .

THE TESTING PHASE
Once the model has been defined, the testing phase becomes fundamental for giving a scientific value to the model itself.

THE TESTING PHASE
The testing phase allows:
a) To check if the indicators developed can be easily collected and updated;
b) To verify if they are convenient for answering to the needs expressed by local stakeholders
c) To make an analysis on the weaknesses and potentialities in the field of innovation in order to
stimulate local interventions

these local sectors in comparison to other territories of your region or at European level?
