Highlights The students were very excited about their first day and this was clearly visible on their
innocent faces. They were welcomed with Mickey Mouse and Doremon who gave them
chocolates. Their class rooms and wing were decorated with the colorful balloons. All the
children were happy to get sash and headgear of animals. Photographs were clicked
showcasing the handmade photo frames. All the teachers introduced themselves to the
children
Analysis The students felt happy and enjoyed themselves a lot. They were able to make themselves
comfortable in an altogether new environment. They spent the day with utmost enjoyment.

With an objective to learn about environment, Pre Primary wing celebrated Plantation Day on 23rd April 2018.

Highlights
The children performed this activity in the school garden. They brought seeds of different
plants from home and sowed them into the pots. They got a chance to interact with the
nature. They were taught about the importance of plants and the methods of growing.
Students were very excited and contented while watering the plants.
Analysis
It was quite motivating activities as the children were able to get close to the nature. It
provided the children an opportunity to break through their usual routine and experience
something which was out of their boxes.
LEMONADE PARTY– 2018-19

To beat the scorching heat, Pre- Primary wing celebrated Lemonade Party on 4th May, 2018.

Highlights
The children were demonstrated how to prepare “Lemonade” by stirring sugar in the water
and then squeezing lemon into it. To enhance the taste, salt and black pepper were also
added into it. Later on, healthy lime water was relished by all the children.
Analysis Toddlers enjoyed this learning through fun- filled process. The Idea behind this activity was
to make the little ones understand the importance of drinking lemonade during summers
rather than other beverages available in the market.
INTERHOUSE JAM SESSION
„The art of communication is the language of leadership.‟
Possession of good communication skills is considered a God-gifted talent but at VBS we believe
in extracting, developing and carving these skills already present in hidden form in our apprentices.
Complying to this an „Inter-house JAM session‟ was organized on 25th April 2018 for Grade VI-
VIII students. JAM is the acronym for Just A Minute. It is conducted for students to improve their
communication skills. It helps the introvert and shy students to take initiative and speak on the topic
for a minute. It helps students condense the entire essence precisely in their mind, and speak only
the relevant aspects within a minute. During the session students were asked to speak ona given
topic for a minute. Students gave impromptu performances some of which were extremely
impressive. Students were judged on the basis of following parameters-
1. Fluency and Control
2. Clarity
3. Shaping up of thoughts
4. Usage of language

An Interschool mega event – Expressions - 2018 was organized in Bal Bharati Public School, Brij
Vihar on 26th& 27th April 2018. There were 28 activities, holding competition that aimed to bring
dynamic participants on a spectacular platform to think, express and showcase their talent &
creativity.
Vidya Bharati School, Surya Nagar actively participated in all the 28 activities in various fields
ranging from Computers, Painting, Mathematics, Scientific Innovations & Dance. All students
participated very enthusiastically in all the activities and showcased their skills, creativity and also
got an opportunity to explore and unleash their hidden talents.
Dr. Manjusha Joshi, Principal, Vidya Bharati School applauded the efforts of all the Participants
and congratulated the winners and the team work of the students and the staff.
All Students performed very well and 5 teams brought laurels for the school by winning prizes in

2018.Thirteen schools of NCR participated in Vibration-2018.
Vidya Bharati School, Surya Nagar actively participated in the Dance Competition. All students
participated very enthusiastically in the competition.

Calligraphy is an art form that uses ink and a brush to express the very souls of words on paper. An Inter Class calligraphy competition was conducted for the students of Grade I to V.
Agenda
Our children have been blessed with immense talent and they need to be encouraged to
exhibit their qualities. This calligraphy contest is an effort to help kids to channelize their
energies.
To motivate children to write neatly in good handwriting.
To complete the work beautifully in the given time.
To make children aware of correct formation of letter with curves.
To use punctuations including full stop, comma, capital letters at proper place.

SYMPOSIUM ON CAREER IN DESIGN
Symposium On Careers in Design was organized on 3 May 2018 by TRENDZ ACADEMY at
school premises for our students of class 12th in which Ms. Meenakshi, the Director from the
academy counseled the students about the possible career options in different design institutions.
The session helps in shaping the future of the child and the path they choose for themselves.
School has been the trailblazer in the Indian educational horizon and has produced students with
great potential, knowledge and the intellect to use their expertise to its fullest. She encouraged
students to enrich their creative urge and choose it as a carrier in different creative fields. As a part
of student awareness program, she conducted this interactive counseling session with students
and educated them about the various career options available in field of Design. She gave them
details about the various design courses offered by premier design institutes like the NID, NIFT,
IIT- UCEED and their entrance procedures. In all this, the main aim was to introduce „Design‟ as
a progressive career stream in the coming times & to highlight the means to achieve it. About 35
students attended the workshop. The workshop proved to be beneficial for the students.

AN EDUCATIONAL TOUR TO NATIONAL MUSEUM
An educational tour was organized for Grade XII Painting students to The National Museum in New Delhi on Friday, 4th May, 2018. The students learnt that the National Museum holds variety of articles ranging from pre-historic era to modern works of art. The Museum has around 200,000 works of art, both of Indian and foreign origin, covering over 5,000 years.
However, the most interesting for students was Harappan Gallery and most prominent among the objects are the Priest Head, the Dancing Girl made in Bronze & mother goddess in Terracotta and Bone Objects, Ivory, Steatite, Semi-Precious Stones, Painted Pottery and Jewellery items which were in their painting syllabus in Class XI and also in History curriculum in lass XII.
Other notable portions of the exhibits were in the Mauryan Gallery, Kushana Gallery, Gupta Gallery; these galleries have sculptures from ancient periods.
The most interesting and rewarding part of the museum were the Miniature paintings gallery, the gallery is divided according to the places and time, where the schools of arts flourished. These paintings belong to major styles such as Mughal, Deccan, Central India, Rajasthani, Pahari and many sub-styles, which is exactly the major aspect of this study tour because almost all the miniature paintings belongs to the painting syllabus housed there.
Also, students watched a documentary film on Indus valley civilization. This visit gave the students
an opportunity to acquaint its masterpieces and unusual objects, for a fun filled and informative
experience.
PAPER AND SCISSORS - CLUB ACTIVITY

FUN WITH NEEDLE – CLUB ACTIVITY

Highlights Students took initiative in activity of “Fun with Needle” club, under the guidance of club In charges.
All the students carried their own needle, thread & cloth which were already asked them to bring.
Students were given firsthand experience of hemming on their own. They were told to be careful
while handling needle as this was for the first time they were working with needle. They enjoyed a
lot and were delighted to do the activity.
Analysis Generated interest about the stitching among the students of Grade VI as it is used in our day to
day life.
PAMPHLET MAKING ACTIVITY
Date & Venue: Classrooms of Grades IV & V on 5.5.18. Pamphlet making activity was conducted for the students of Grade IV and V. “A pamphlet is a small booklet or leaflet containing information about a subject.” Demonstrator & Presenter: The students of Grade IV and V participated in this activity. Agenda: The purpose of Pamphlet designing activity was to encourage students to use their imagination,
creativity and to bring out the artist in them. Pamphlet designing activity is an attempt to develop the art of designing. Advantages of Pamphlet designing activity include:-

Highlights
Students were made aware about the reach of radio as a mass communication tool.
Made aware regarding various shows such as interviews, discussions, debates, news, talk shows etc.
The students of the class were divided into groups of four students in each group.
Each group was asked to prepare an innovative show of their own with one presenter and others as a guest.
They enthusiastically participated in the discussion and imparted and gained knowledge through two way communication.
Students were given a time of ten minutes to prepare their presentation.
Many of them tried to match with the standards set by some renowned radio jockeys. Analysis Students ogf Grade VIII enjoyed the activity. They also learned that effort of each individual is required and learned to work as a team. They came up with innovative script of their own and gave wonderful performances.

Objective :
The main motive of this activity is to encourage kids to eat real food- healthy honest and
nutritious food.
Say no to fast Food, junk food & processed food.
To teach students how they can prepare a snack without fire and help their mothers at the
time of need.
To inculcate the value of collective participation among students. Highlights :
We need to teach our Children:- To eat nutritious & real Food; Keeping this in mind, an activity of
making Wheel Sandwiches was done by the students. Demonstrator explained the nutrition value
of the ingredients used in the sandwiches. Tips related to cleanliness and hygiene was also given
to the students. They were told to wear apron, gloves and to cover their heads while cooking the
food.
Outcome :
Students were enthusiastic as they were having fun making it and then decorating the same. They
learnt the joy of working in teams and used their imagination while decorating the same. They also
learnt to keep cleanliness as they clean all the tables after making the sandwiches. They took an
hour for the completion of the activity .The students had a lot of fun sharing with their friends
thoroughly and took pleasure in the activity.
WEAVE A STORY CLUB
Creative writing is a vita way of expressing oneself. Imagination and creative writing encourages
children to exercise their creative minds and practice using their imagination.

PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT CLUB

Venue – Grade IV Classroom
Introduction:-
The Club was organized keeping in view the importance of Personality Development, which has an
important part to play in the overall growth pattern of a child.
Teacher In charges –Ms. Sakshi Gupta, Ms. Neeti Varma, Ms. Gaori Goswami & Ms. Swati Varma.
The session was divided into 3 parts viz. Meditation, Interactive Discussion & Activity Session.
Activity:-
Meditation as a subject was discussed with the students and impressed upon them as to how
meditation can calm them and improve their overall performance during the whole day.
The students were asked to cut photos from old newspapers of their Idols and paste the photos on
an A4 size sheet, with a description on the reason they have chosen the particular person as their
Idol and how the students co-relate to them.
The importance of Personality Development in an individual was discussed with the students and
they were encouraged to work on developing their already good personalities by working more on
communication, confidence, discipline, body language, posture etc.
The students were also told how to behave properly within their peer groups and also on matters to
be taken care of while communicating with Elders. Their behavior with respect to the School in
particular was also addressed.
Summary:-
Students participated and enjoyed the refreshing interaction where they could learn many new
things, which will have a positive effect in their daily routines. All the students were eager to know
when such an activity will be held again and that they would love to attend it.
“MOMENTS WITH MAA” A MOTHER‟S DAY EVENT
We at VBS strongly believe in holistic development of students. As a part of our holistic
development curriculum, our school participated in a very special inter schoolevent organized by
DLF Public School, Sahibabad in association with well known NGO, Smile Foundation on 5th May
2018.
Eighteen students of middle wing along with their mothers participated in the event which aimed to
uphold the beautiful mother-child relationship. Panelists were eminent personalities from different
field. It included respected and renowned psychologist Aruna Broota and leading fashion designer
and academician Varija Bajaj .Highlight of the programme was RJ Naved who cherished the
audience with his childhood experiences and the bond he shares with his mother. All the speakers
focused and guided both children and their moms onhow to understand each other‟s challenges
and aspirations.
The event which was innovative programme in itself was enjoyed by the mommies as well as their
kids.
INTER HOUSE FOOTBALL BOYS TOURNAMENT 2018-19 On 9 & 10 May 2018, Inter House Football Tournament for boys was organized in VBS. The four houses Pratap, Shivaji, Subhash & Patel participated in it. It was on knock out basis.

Hindi Poem Recitation Competition
“Poem recitation is a mode of expression, a medium to reflect the latent talents of the
young ones.”
Demonstrator & Presenter:
The students of Grade I to V participated in this competition.
Agenda:
An inter class Hindi poem recitation competition was held on Thursday, 10.05.18 to enable
the students to more effortlessly exploit inner talents and in the bargain constructs
confidence.
To help students in acquiring an abiding interest in Hindi literature.
To improve Hindi vocabulary.
Highlights:
The themes for different grades were as follows-
Grade I - Plants, Birds, Animals and means of transport.
Grade II & III - Books, Grandparents, Nature, Summer holidays and Friends.
Grade IV & V - Pollution, Environment, Cleanliness and Modern gadgets.
The parameters for judging the participants were Content of the poem, Voice modulation, Clarity of
speech, Props and Pronunciation.
Analysis:
All the participants came prepared with different rhymes of their choice with different themes. It was
a delight to hear these little ones singing in rhyme and rhythm. The eye catching props added icing
to the cake.

ANALYSIS It was an informative workshop for all. It will enable us to remain proactive during career guidance. Such inputs were given to improve the productivity of a child‟s academic/profession choice as per their ability.
MOTHER‟S DAY 2018-19

To make them know the about the mother‟s day and that it is celebrated as a thanksgiving for what all a mother does for them that can‟t be put in words

Highlights
The students prepared beautiful necklaces for their mothers as a token of love on the Mothers Day. The necklace was however made up of penne pasta but it was not the only thing, it was also made up of immense amount of love, respect and warmth towards the mothers. The students were very keen and diligent while making the necklace with the penne pasta and threads. The necklaces adorned the already charismatic mothers.
Analysis The students felt really happy and enjoyed themselves a lot. They were really satisfied and
contented since they now had something to gift to their mothers which they made
themselves. They were quite happy with their achievement. The students were really excited
to gift the necklaces to their mothers.
