1. Background

Brian Anderson, photographer, adventurer and lecturer, has captured nature, travel and landscape images from trips to 40+ countries in Europe, Africa, Asia, South America, and further afield into the Arctic, the Geographic North Pole and the remote Antarctic Continent.

Through andersonimages, Brian presents Illustrated Talks and Courses based around these trips, so others can also ‘ explore, experience and discover ’ these

remarkable places he has been fortunate enough to visit over the last 30+ years.

In addition to giving talks to schools, colleges, RSPB Local Groups, social and professional clubs for many years, he has worked with Quark Expeditions, as Ship’s Photographer and Lecturer on their Arctic and Antarctic voyages.

Brian tutors on Wildlife, Art and Travel Photography courses at Adult Colleges in the Lakes, Northamptonshire and South Yorkshire. His images and articles appear on websites, in UK newspapers, photographic and various lifestyle magazines.

2. Photography Courses Formats Available

Brian offers a variety of Photography Course formats to suit everyone; from 1 2 1

individual sessions to interactive group sessions for 8 and up to 14 people at

superb venues in Wirral, Cheshire, South Yorkshire, Cumbria and Northamptonshire.

The courses are suitable for beginners and photographers with a bit of knowledge and experience who want to improve their technique and creative skills. Courses are ideal for digital camera users with basic Point and Shoot cameras, Compact Digitals, to Digital SLRs. Attendee participation and involvement on every course is key.

3. 2013/14 Photographic Course Venues Available

Brian delivers Photography Courses from five unique venues across the UK :

Adult Residential Colleges

Weekend, Midweek and Week Courses are run at Higham Hall, Northern College and Knuston Hall, Adult Residential Colleges (ARCA) in Cumbria, South Yorkshire and Northamptonshire respectively. Enquiries and bookings for these courses are made directly with the Colleges. Contact details are given in Section 5.

These Residential Courses are suitable for up to 20 attendees, and include full

meals and accommodation. Sessions are held in informal theatre style arrangements. Themes and dates of courses available are detailed in Section 4.

1 2 1 Photography Sessions at Chester Zoo, Cheshire

Personal 1 2 1 tuition plus free guide and introduction to

your digital camera. Features, tips and techniques to improve your creative and technical digital photography skills. Tuition sessions available on half or a full day basis at Chester Zoo, an ideal location, with its diversity of subject matter, from wildlife and landscape images to people shots. Aimed for individuals, but couples can also be accepted on a full day session.

Cost £90/half day or £165/full day, incl Zoo entrance

Photography Workshops at The Lauries, Birkenhead, Wirral

Full day photography workshop looking

at basics of exposure, composition, depth of field (DoF); plus lots of useful tips; an outdoor photo shoot; and well illustrated throughout day with Brian’s stunning and colourful images from around the world. A Photo Guide (pdf format), lunch and refreshments, are all provided on the day. Cost £80 per session, 10.00am - 4.00pm.

Full Weekend Course from Fri 6.30pm to 12.30pm Sunday. You will learn about the History of Travel Photography, see stunning Illustrated Case Studies, pick up Practical Tips and Techniques for taking successful travel photos, and snap your very own Travel Photography Assignment. Course at Higham Hall, Cumbria Fri 28th June to Sun 30th June 2013

Full Weekend Course. Learn all about Wilderness photography; with stunning portfolios of Arctic and North Pole, Galapagos, Falklands, S Georgia and Antarctica. Plenty tips and techniques on how to take successful images in these remote regions.

A Weekend or a Midweek Course. Learn about some of the finest visual art from Al Andalus in Spain, to Venice in Italy, to Egypt and Peru, to Polar Art, and Liverpool, ‘City of Sculpture’ to Art of the Lake District.
