Young people today do things that young people 15 years ago could

not have imagined.

This generation is creating self-shot home movies, mixing and editing

existing footage, composing and recording music and editing photos.

They are connecting, exchanging and creating in new ways; when and

where they want and with no understanding or regard as to the

consequences of their actions nor respect for privacy, copyright or the

feelings of others.

Research into the technological lives of young children found that 29% of toddlers could use a smartphone or tablet by the age of three, while more one-in-ten could operate the devices before their 2nd birthday.

Of these about 8.8% (2.2 Mio) are aged 3-11.

About 25 Million people in the UK use a tablet.

A further 7.2% (1.8 Mio) are aged 12-17.
