April 13th & 14th are the dates for our next “big” book sale. As usual, it will be held in the
Library Meeting Rooms. We are in need of hardcover fiction, non-fiction and paperbacks, CD’s
and DVD’s. We can use the items now for our continuous on-going sale and especially for the
big sale in April. I will mention again that we do not take text books, manuals or outdated
books on medical issues. History books sell well plus gardening books, cookbooks, art books,
music (especially piano), crafts, humor plus CD’s and DVD’s. VHS tapes do not sell.
We will need volunteers to set up for the sale one day prior (Thursday April 12th ) and to work
the sale on Friday (13th) and Saturday (14th). In addition, help is needed to take down/clean up
after the sale closes on Saturday. Signup sheets will be available for volunteering at the
circulation desk at the Library by March 21st.
BOOK SALE HOURS WILL BE:
FRIDAY, APRIL 13th 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
SATURDAY, APRIL 14th 9:00 AM to NOON
As noted in our last newsletter, Brenda Wackerbarth and Margie Sheppard have stepped down
after many years of organizing the two big book sales the Friends have each year. Bill and
Kathy O’Driscoll and Trudy Duffrin will be the new coordinators for our big book sales. Thank
you to the three of you for taking on that job.
Thank you to Brenda and Margie for their many years of heading up the big book sales. They
still are putting in many hours of work keeping the Friends on-going book sale running
smoothly. Don’t forget to check out the Friends book shelves. Books/magazines are always
being added to our display bookcases.
To live happily is an inward power of the soul. ---Marcus Aureliu

“Deadly Desires at Honeychurch Hall”
by Hannah Dennison
This charming and witty whodunit will have fans of
British mysteries and Downtown Abbey series sure to
enjoy this contemporary take, set at an English Hall, on
murder at the manor house.
When the body of a transport minister is discovered on
the grounds of Honeychurch Hall, suspicion about his
unusual demise naturally falls on the folks in the village.
After all, who could possibly want a high-speed train line
built in their front yard? Is the minister’s death the result
of a local vendetta, or could it be connected to something else? Fiction
“McCartney Yesterday & Today” By Ray Coleman
Written with the cooperation of Paul McCartney, this is a dramatic
story of one of the most popular songs in history and a unique
close-up of the man who composed it.
As a Beatle, McCartney was a brilliant songwriter and performer,
ambitiously steering the group to the top. Today he is still fiercely
proud of what he and the Beatles achieved. He remains a
composer and musician, as well as a shrewd businessman,
philanthropist, and militant vegetarian.
In candid interviews, McCartney discusses his rich, often mercurial
relationship with John Lennon, as well as a range of other subjects,
including his life before and during the Beatles’ heyday, and the
powerful events that shaped his life. “Yesterday and Today” will
take you on a colorful, fascinating ride inside the mind and heart of
not only a talented musician, but also a man who has tasted many
of the different tragedies and triumphs that life has to offer. Non-Fiction
