Shania met her boy,

Stetson, at a HyVee

pet preview about a

year ago. Stetson and

his mom had been

looking for a dog for

awhile but hadn't

found just the right

one. His mom had

been telling him they

would know when

the perfect dog for

PLEASE HELP!

him came along and

that is exactly what

happened. Stetson

was a little shy but

Shania quickly won

both

Stetson and

his mom

over. Shania

has been exactly what

this family was looking

for. She is extremely

bonded with "her

boy" and will soon be

going to classes to become

a therapy and emotional

support dog for Stetson.

She is known by all the

neighbors and

greets them all

with a smile and

a tail wag.

Stetson's mom says "We

love her so much and are

so glad she is a part of our

lives."

“...We love her so much

and glad she is a part of

our lives.”

Meet Keanu & Farmboy by Kelsey Pinson

When I adopted a little kitten from the St. Joseph Animal Shelter, I never expected to find the perfect ambassador for my business, Diamond Dog Salon. Farmboy, the orange cat, spends his days sitting in the big window of the Salon that looks out onto historic downtown St. Joseph, watching and waiting for the next person to walk by and play with him through the window.

Even better, in both of our opinions, is the passerby with a pet who stops in to visit. He loves to greet the dogs. Now Farmboy has a buddy, Keanu, the tabby kitten, who also came from the shelter and has proved to be the best pet. They both wrestle in the bed, in the window, leaving pawprints all over the desk, or supervising a doggy haircut. Whatever there is to do, they do it together and charm the rest of us while they're at it. They even have their own Instagram

now (FarmboynKeanu) where they show off their antics.

Beau came into the shelter as a stray, but not any stray. He came into the shelter with bone fractures and a broken leg. The shelter staff immediately knew Beau needed surgery and put out a request to help fund the surgery for this wonderful dog.

A grant through Petfinder was funded and the community of St. Joseph came together to raise the necessary funds for his surgery and his treatment after surgery.

Currently he is in foster care to begin the process of healing his broken bones. Once the veterinarian clears him, he will be available for adoption.
